Yeah use the Logitec gaming mouse and don't use a mousepad at all. The thing is meant for wooden surfaces. Also Y2K wasn't bullshit, it would have been a big deal had developers not gone to painstaking lengths to put out patches. There's a pretty good Yahoo Answers page about it, just google "was y2k real".

The fact that it was prevented doesn't mean it wasn't a serious threat. The "best answer" there goes into a good bit of detail separating the truth from the hype.

it does not improve your game or crap like that, but it is a sturdy, hardy comfortable pad to use all day (i use it for work and play). For gaming i use a logitech g700 and for work i use the apple magic mouse with many more gestures thanks to bettertouchtool. Both work well great.

And size does matter, you wouldn't think you would need a big pad but it is very nice to have the extra space.
