Lelouch was...Well, like a lot of real historical figures. Deeply flawed, with somewhat questionable motives. I rather dislike the ending, because, if the Code Geass universe follows the same as ours, people we be back to fighting within a few years after the end of R2. Then again, the ending made sense. By that point, Lelouch had lost absolutely everything that had motivated him to become zero in the first place; the Emperor was dead, as was (to his knowledge) Nunally, its no wonder...

Lelouch was willing to make everyone hate him, and most likely go down in history as the most evil person in the world, so that his sister could live in a world of peace. His motives were pure from the start.

By that point, Lelouch hated himself so much, that he got in it his head that he HAD to die for there to be any chance for a better world, and he followed through with it in the worst way possible. Considering the inevitability that the UFN will gang up on Britannia and burn it to the ground unless Nunally is willing to hold a FLEJA arsenal against them things don't look good in the post CG verse.

This kept them from going at each other. His death would make some form of peace for others to build off and make true peace from. And he's not actually dead.

Though honestly, I think being forced to spend eternity keeping the peace he spent his life trying to achieve would be a more fitting "punishment" for Lelouch than dying, especially since there's a confirmed afterlife in the CG verse.

I mean how long do you think that would last? The US was united in hated after 9/11 in American pride but now there isn't any unity only 10 years later. for me the song is not quite correct, is not handed over to the whole tragedy of scene, when the people for the common good points his best friend kill himself then as a minimum it is necessary to put music on a more tragic. Although the rascal is all the more alive than dead :)

But they didn't have to actually take over the world as step one in the plan, they just had to keep going places and breaking stuff.
It's not a matter of bravery, as bravery implies fear. It's a matter of intellect and resolve, as well as having the possibility to change something by being granted, awakening or obtaining some sort of unconventional power that would provide the possibility to rise above the current, pitiful level of humanity.

I am not going to lie it some what ticks me off when people say death note was better. Light died and really did nothing to better the world but kill a bunch of people and in the end died in vain.

For all you people who are shook up about the ending: Look over all the info the series has given, Lelouch is immortal at this point, he is alive, in the same state CC is in. The cart driver is Lelouch, if you watch the original ending. Plus listen to what CC said at the end to Lelouch.

The only future for this series is from new characters perspective. Like what they tried to do with Gundam SEED. Switch the main character to a new person. @LOLtzied Actually, if you look at the evidence, when Nunally touched him she saw his memories, just as Lelouch did when he touched CC, meaning his code activated, making him immortal. Also, if you look at the original ending, lelouch is the cart driver, they took it out eventually though.

I just finished watching the entire series over again and I see how well this video fits with the anime. Sukaku says that he is Lelouch's sword, and C2 is his shield. I guess see Sukaku dressed as Zero would be his mirror because he finally gets to see how much Zero is admired from a different point of view.

i know everything for r3.. Lelouch gave suzaku geass and the rules of the contract were told by him in the last episode when suzaku stabs him. but Lelouch is still alive, living with c2 orange boy and the girl who has no memories as farmers.

This is the only good Code Geass AMV I've seen to date. I heard Coldplay and was like "Ugh, this is gonna average".I couldn't have been further off. Looking back, this is such a fitting song for Lelouch.

I always took the whole "Lelouch might've gotten a Code" possibility as proof against him staying alive. After getting stabbed, Lelouch says to Suzaku that he will have to wear a mask and be the defender of justice "forever", and sacrifice his own happiness for the world "eternally". I'm not assuming Lelouch did get a Code, but I am pretty certain that if he did, he'd pass it on to Suzaku as part of the plan so that Suzaku could eternally remain as Zero in case "Zero" was ever needed again.

How often do things go according to plan for Lelouch? Never, that's when, the reason he's awesome is that he managed to take over the world and then introduce world peace even despite everything going wrong all the time.

Not that I think Suzaku could have received the Code, though, since he never had a Geass, let alone used it enough to make himself eligible.
@rini10010 Well, he could have, but the details of how to get the code, beyond what we know, might not actually be known to her. Also, just because she has no reason to do something, doesn't mean she won't. And Lelouch might not have asked.
That allows plenty of openings for Murphy to apply if Lelouch did want Suzaku to get the code (and thought it were possible to begin with).
Late: @EvansRowan123 Actually, plans work out for him a lot. They also fail a lot, but I see no reason why after taking over the world, he couldn't have set such a simple plan part into motion. @rini10010 I haven't watched the last episode in a while, but there's a few months between the last battle and Zero Requiem, no? If he wanted to pass the code-he-may-or-may-not-have-had to Suzaku, he could've easily given Suzaku a Geass and had him use it as much as possible until it matured in that time.
I'd say the main question is if there was any way he could have become immortal prior to getting stabbed. If he were it wouldn't be hard to fake death given how many times CC got shot only to stand up 30 seconds later. Just have Jeremiah pick up the body while he's retreating and viola Lelouch would be a free man.
Ima just say it but lelouch isn't dead cuz he kills the short kid with immortality which makes lelouch have immortality you will understand it if you pay attention to the 2nd season
Its a sad amv but i do understand why. Lelouch wanted a perfect world for nunnaly. Nunnaly wanted a gentler world. so Lelouch took the world by storm and gave suzaku the zero costume to kill Lelouch, thus making suzaku a hero for taking down the ' tyrant ' lelouch... cant wait for r3 to see if the theory of lelouch being alive still, cause it actually looked like Suzaku hit above the heart

@12331261 ... Exactly... while we all want an official confirmation of whether or no Lelouch is dead, if they gave it to us the anime would be ruined... The only future for this series is from new characters perspective. Like what they tried to do with Gundam SEED. Switch the main character to a new person. And then later on through the series reintroduce Lelouch as being alive or dead, and continue the story from their. They would have to make a damn good fucking plot though.

Anyway my point was if they could continue the series but they would have to do it in a way that doesn't directly cut to Lelouch restarring as the main character. EG how they introduced emo boy in Destiny. And then cut back to focusing more so on Athrun and Kira

@LOLtzied Actually, if you look at the evidence, when Nunally touched him she saw his memories, just as Lelouch did when he touched CC, meaning his code activated, making him immortal. Also, if you look at the original ending, lelouch is the cart driver, they took it out eventually though.

I just finished watching the entire series over again and I see how well this video fits with the anime. Sukaku says that he is Lelouch's sword, and C2 is his shield. I guess see Sukaku dressed as Zero would be his mirror because he finally gets to see how much Zero is admired from a different point of view.

i know everything for r3.. Lelouch gave suzaku geass and the rules of the contract were told by him in the last episode when suzaku stabs him. but Lelouch is still alive, living with c2 orange boy and the girl who has no memories as farmers.

Ok I will say this now, there is a continued story called haiden that show some of c2's past with a boy that she tried to give geass to and it went wrong. Just look up the menga on google. Then after they make the anime for that they will have another season where it's back to the original story and it's where the story turns into a as I call it (regret timeline) where everyone hoped they should have changed things wile the only ones that know the zero requiem are a handful but the rest go on w

This is the only good Code Geass AMV I've seen to date. I heard Coldplay and was like "Ugh, this is gonna average".I couldn't have been further off. Looking back, this is such a fitting song for Lelouch.

@101magj Only Kalen ( by being the ONLY person to figure out what Lelouch was planning when she saw Zero and Lelouch ) and Nunally ( by touching Lelouch's hand when he was out of sync with his Geass .. Therefore emitting memories like what happened with C.C. ) found out ( apart from Suzaku .. C.C. Lloyd and those with him when he ruled the world ) ..

I always took the whole "Lelouch might've gotten a Code" possibility as proof against him staying alive. After getting stabbed, Lelouch says to Suzaku that he will have to wear a mask and be the defender of justice "forever", and sacrifice his own happiness for the world "eternally". I'm not assuming Lelouch did get a Code, but I am pretty certain that if he did, he'd pass it on to Suzaku as part of the plan so that Suzaku could eternally remain as Zero in case "Zero" was ever needed again.

@EvansRowan123 Well, if it's about *how* to get the Code, I'm pretty sure he could have asked C.C. -- I see no reason why she would withhold info from him at this point. Not that I think Suzaku could have received the Code, though, since he never had a Geass, let alone used it enough to make himself eligible.

@rini10010 Well, he could have, but the details of how to get the code, beyond what we know, might not actually be known to her. Also, just because she has no reason to do something, doesn't mean she won't. And Lelouch might not have asked.
That allows plenty of openings for Murphy to apply if Lelouch did want Suzaku to get the code (and thought it were possible to begin with).

They also fail a lot, but I see no reason why after taking over the world, he couldn't have set such a simple plan part into motion. @rini10010 I haven't watched the last episode in a while, but there's a few months between the last battle and Zero Requiem, no? If he wanted to pass the code-he-may-or-may-not-have-had to Suzaku, he could've easily given Suzaku a Geass and had him use it as much as possible until it matured in that time.

I'd say the main question is if there was any way he could have become immortal prior to getting stabbed. If he were it wouldn't be hard to fake death given how many times CC got shot only to stand up 30 seconds later. Just have Jeremiah pick up the body while he's retreating and viola Lelouch would be a free man.

Its a sad amv but i do understand why. Lelouch wanted a perfect world for nunnaly. Nunnaly wanted a gentler world. so Lelouch took the world by storm and gave suzaku the zero costume to kill Lelouch, thus making suzaku a hero for taking down the ' tyrant ' lelouch... cant wait for r3 to see if the theory of lelouch being alive still, cause it actually looked like Suzaku hit above the heart
