  • Great voice and very sad news . Epitomised the 60s for me as a young 12 year old sprog who found magic in the Walker bros, and follow Scott to Tilt and beyond.

PS The announcer is of course Sandie Shaw who I was madly in love with at the age of 9 onwards !

  • crickey who is the woman announcing- she is so 60s

  • GReat singer, John Walker

  • I love this clip. I recorded it on videa years ago, but the tape is well worn and so great to see it again. What a voice this guy had. I know Scott was brilliant, but let's not forget there was another brilliant singer in The Walker Brothers. He is gone too soon. RIP.

  • fantastic version by JW

  • string section destroys the groove, good sing, Johnny Walker, rest in peace

  • @peergynt0302

String sections did that a lot in the 60s & 70s.

  • John was one of the finest runners from the Kiwi era

  • Quality. RIP John.

  • RIP John ! Im gonna miss you always xx

  • This is a great clip, thanks for sharing it. RIP John and sympathies to your family. As usual the press didn't give John a very accurate obituary. They mentioned the obvious, that he was a member of The Walker Brothers and that he had done a 'Silver 60s' tour. In fact, as far as I am aware, John was on a Flying Music 60s tour in 2007 and again in 2009 when he was backed by The Dakotas. Video clips of this are available on You Tube.

  • One of the greats. Rest in peace.

  • RIP john, and thank you for the music.

  • rip john u will be missed

  • I DON'T SUPPOSE WE'LL EVER GET GREAT PEOPLE LIKE THIS AGAIN

ALL THE WORLD SEEMS TO BE FULL OF IS IDIOTS AND TROUBLEMAKERS

    REST IN PEACE JOHN

AND BEST WISHES TO YOUR FAMILY

  • The famous ’54 Fender Esquire guitar that Jeff Beck played early on in the Yardbirds, was bought by Jeff off of John Walker (birth name John Maus), when John was in the Walker Bros. Jeff couldn't afford a case for it, & it once fell off the back of an equipment truck at the loading dock. Not only was it not damaged, it was still in tune! Jeff eventually traded the guitar to Seymour Duncan for a Strat. The Esquire is now on loan from Seymour to the London Hard Rock Café.

  • RIP

  • Simply wonderful, lovely evocative quality about this. We heard John sing this on

Saturday night at Wakefield Theatre Royal, this song really suits his voice, and after all these years he sings it absolutely beuatifully. Great clip thanks for posting.

    Margaret xx

  • @margaretwaterhouse This is wonderful ! What a shame more people haven,t seen it.
