  • Amazing track, g8 music, broths. :)

If you like etno-neo-folk-trance, maybe you find good our latvian "Auli" or "Auļi".

    :)

  • excellent. love this song. also great selection of pics.

  • This isn't really my usual style of music but I really like the use of dissonance in this. very effective!

  • Porque?

    RESPECTS from Algeria !!!

  • @nwaqshti

Thank you! Well, Algeria also has great music. At least, music of Souad Massi is wonderful =)

  • @argeHu Thanks too. Maybe Souad Massi's music is wonderful, but our language is not so elegant, so sweet and so harmonious than yours. I want learn more about your country and your culture.

  • this is beautiful, I love it and I'm gonna find that album....

I want to know this language-being half Lithuanian, my mom being full Lithuanian second generation American I know enough to understand some basics

BUT I want to know what she is saying/singing! Please some one tell me where I can find the words even if they're not translated please I want to know my history!

  • @allyoneverstone

Hi! I added lyrics to the description. But they are very difficult to understand because of archaic language and metaphoric style. The main song's idea is that a bee is seaching her lover but find he's dead and a girl (a "sister") is searching her boyfriend and he's also dead in a war.

That's a little pity what Lithuanian folk songs are mostly only about war, death or beer while other nations sung about God and love. But well, that's the Lithuanian history, eternal war =/

  • @argeHu Lithuanian dosn`t sing mostly about war, death or beer:))) Its so many songs, about happy things too:))))

  • @allyoneverstone

    whic words you not understood?

  • @allyoneverstone

    which words you not understood?

  • Tai, kas mano protėviai dainavo!

  • i am an indian who doesn't know sanskrit like most other indians but if someone made me listen to this song and told me to guess which language this song was, my first guess would have been sanskrit .

  • @sohantherebel Nice to hear it.

Lithuanians are proud of their rilations with sanskrit. Both languages share common words.

  • great song!

  • Nuostabu, tikra, lietuviska!

  • great album. along with "sotvaras" it can attract people from abroad to lithuanian folk culture.

just one question: is the song itself of prussian or lithuanian origins?

  • Man patiko, neyprastas stilius, geras balsas. Neblogai, tikrai neblogai.

  • we are not christian.we are saramtija,we was have a script in 510m pr. m .era.

  • Wonderfull...I've heard it looong time ago, but couldn't find it anywhere...

    Thank You :)

  • Tegul ši daina visiems primins pagonybės laikus, kai mes buvom stiprūs ir neištižę. Daugiau tokių dainų ir tie laikai grįš.

  • Who sings this? I need to see if I can get it. Lithuanian pre-Christian music is interesting. I'm trying to learn the language too.. I have some trouble with its accentuation of course..

  • @MykeSoBe

Artist name: Donis Album: Bite lingo

Although Donis is only music composer and vocal is of Rasa Serra. Believe me, whole album is worth to listen. Also, you can try our "oficial" pagan band Kūlgrinda. If you have any troubles to get Lithuanian music or want any recommendations write PM. I will gladly help :)

  • I love this song!

  • Nuostabu. Dziugu, kad Lietuvoj kazkas dar daro tokius nuostabius dalykus. Aciu jums! :)

  • Awesome!!!! Greetings from Ukraine

  • Houla ! Superbe et étonnant ! 5*. I just loooooove it.

It s a bit like ancient Greek music as played by Daemonia Nymphe. Or Irfan "Hagia Sophia".

I didn't know lithuanian music could be so good

  • Yes, it has some similarity. By the way, I love Irfan and Daemonia Nymphe music so much:)

  • Very astute oberservation baretous. Lithuanian is an Indo-European language. You may be fascinated by the Lithuanian religion, which is a fusion between the old (pagan) sky cults and catholicism. Type in 'Hill of Crosses' and you'll get an insight into this most astounding Indo-European culture.

  • Catholicism is semitic not Indo-European thing. But otherwise, all religions has the same nature - all came from cult of sky. But some "superior" religions deny that and made a pittyful man as a god.

  • jo cia yra super, kazkas kas suvirpina musu proteviu gyvasti esancia kazkur giliai sirdyje. jei kada nors bus koks karas butinai sita gabala pasileisiu :) ir sienausiu sienausiu sienausiu :)

  • Labai gražu. Dainos pradžioje net šiurpuliukai pereina. SUPER;]

  • wow..

  • pasiklausaiu kalbos ir muzikos 'kitu kampu'.

  • Greetings from Latvia,

    our sanskrit brother

  • Isties labai grazi daina. Atsimenu dar pirmakart busiu isgirdus ja ziuredama filma. Skambejo... na kaip cia issireiskus... Uzburianciai.

  • Senai negirdejau tokios geros muzikos, pagarba ir atlikejams ir uploaderiui. Stai tokie kuriniai vercia didziuotis savo salim.

  • Hehe... Maniau padarysiu gerą darba šitą dainą įmetęs :) Platinam platinam kokybišką lietuvišką muziką! \m/

  • Platinam:) Šaunu, kad irgi prisidedat prie platinimo. Turim daugybę geros muzikos, kuri taip mažai kam žinoma.

  • Sounds a bit like Sanskrit.

  • Yes, Lithuanian language is very old and have a lot of common words with Sanskrit like rasa, duona, dantys, ugnis, šimtas...

  • @cv45fg56hg83sd91

Sanskrit and current Lithuanian is basically the same language. Both were brought from Kurgan culture about 3500 BC just different directions Lithuanian to west-north, Sanskrit to east-south. This is one language spoken in the whole Scythia-Sarmatia area. Unfortunately, left just crumbs in the ends of that territory - India, Lithuania, Latvia. Having said that many words from that language still left n Russian, Belorussian, Ukrainian and Polish languages.

  • @senosdienos Well, Slavic (especially eastern) languages are the product of Baltic and Scythian mix plus later influence from Finougric and Tiurkic languages. No wonder all modern linguists group Baltic & Slavic languages to one Baltoslavic family.

  • @argeHu

There is no such as Baltic and Scythian mix because term Baltic appeared in 19th century when German linguist had no clue why Lithuanians, Latvians and Old Prussians had non-Slavic languages. It is the same language earlier known as Scythian or Sarmatian before Christianity..

  • @senosdienos

  • @cv45fg56hg83sd91

It is a little Sanskrit. Lithuanian language still have a lot of words which are similar to Sanscrit language. Anyway Lithuanian language is the oldest alive Indo-European language.

  • @lireni I don't know if youre Lithuanian so i will speak in english, yes Lithuania MAY be the oldest but there is an Asian country which speaks ONLY sanskrit so were a little bit behind i guess.Recent researches show that Lithuanians are decented from Sarmatian :) type in google "8 evidances that Lithuania is Sarmatian" (I think this is the correct thing to type :)

  • love love love love love

  • Lietuviai esame mes gime

    Lietuviai turime ir but.!

Taip sake mano mama, tikra Lietuvaite.

    Thank again from Arizona!

  • Aciu is Arizonos!

  • Very nice pics! Cool song too. Btw what does "Bite lingo" mean?

  • Thanks! The name is from Old Lithuanian language and it means "bee was swinging". The song is about dead warrior. Btw, I see you like Arkona, it's wonderful band I like it much as well :)

  • Cool! Balto-Slavic friendship 4eva! :P

  • For ever!

  • Nuostabi muzika...Grazios nuotraukos..Tiesiog puiku :)
