ive just seen this film and ive just asked myself how the hell did i miss this one it goes straight in my top ten of all time greats what a fantastic story and so bloody original great acting and i want one of those radio,s i need to tell my dad to stop smoking
@singinsmiley1 me too!! my mind was blown when i saw it.. was shocked at the related movies the writer was involved with amongst them the butterfly effect also Jim Caviezel starred in the prisoner remake that i was a big fan of wow
It's been said and said again -underrated- MILES underrated, amazing movie, near shit myself, had goosebumps by the end, it's one of those movies ya just have to tell everyone about!! :-D
This just went off the tv and I had to look it up and find it. I didn't see all of it but what I did see was great. This is no ordinary film, but I don't think Dennis Quiad is no ordinary actor in my book!
Great movie. Shaun Doyle should've been the Joker. Too bad it was centered around the Mets. If any Met fans are reading this... wow, a Met fan that can read... "I'm Still Here, Chief" would be a GREAT title for a Met fans' blog.
this is a great movie.its a valuable lesson concerning some of the potentially disastrous consequences of tapering with any facet of history. God alone is the author and finisher of individual and world history.
P.S for those who enjoyed this, also check out STAR TREK:CITY ON THE EDGE OF FOREVER with joan collins. i believe it is the 1st or 2nd season

Jim was Magnificent (as always) in it. He had a small Gun but in -Nature's Grave- his GUN gets BIGger, PERFECTly OK as he's a Swiss & Slovak AMERICAn MAN not a COWard PUSSy = white "real police"-officer from cUnt UK who as any loser englishman has a v. lil' gun (actually NONE, too weak to carry 1), v. small bankBalance but a bullyEgo, big head FILLed with farts+BLACK: Sperm, shit & Piss. This is one of my favorite movies. I'm watching it now. I agree that this was an underrated movie. Sometimes weak blockbusters overshadow great sleepers. This was one movie that you had to watch from beginning to end or you wouldn't understand it. Great movie!
i fancied the hell out of Dennis Quiad's son in the film. I have to agree this movie is totally underated i really enjoyed it. It had the suspense, the amazing communication through time and radio and a happy ending!! Lol, Great film!
Isaw this movie last night, and I was floored! I used to dabble in amatuer radio,CB, etc. Although a situation like this would not likely occur(sunspot activity, or not) the producers had a great twist for a reunion plot between Father, and Son. A Great MOVIE! Indeed!
Yeah, butterfly effect was as you said," much more fukked up" or whatever, but it kills me when someone comments on THAT movie and doesn't prop this one out. I mean this movie came out b4 then.
Yes, "BE" is also a good movie, but it's not quite the same thing either: "BE" keeps things rather more "antiseptic," IMO, and it does not quite draw you in at the end the way "Frequency" does. Because "BE," in fact, waves you off.
The "vehicles" are different too: "BE" is an "alternate reality" movie, while "F" is a intra-timeline communication film.
I will say "BE" might bend the entire idea of time travel and multiple/alternate realities to a much larger degree than "Frequency" does.
Yes, I think it's quite possible for the Aurora Borealis to be seen in NYC.
I live further west in the US (but at the same latitude as NYC--"40 degrees north," and I do remember seeing "Northern Lights" as a youngster (back in 1970 or so).
There are much bigger physics hurdles to overcome where this story is concerned--the entire theory of "string theory"--it might be a sort of "prerequisite" (David Frost interviews real-world "string theorist" Brian Green" twice in this film, for example).
God , let there be a miracle , so i can contact my father , so i can tell him hoe much i miss him at this point of my life . He is not here when i need him so much. Want to say sorry for all the wrong i did to him before he passed away.... let there be a miracle.
actually just only seen it today well watching it right now pretty good i do not know why it does not have more credit for it. But what really gets me is it ever possible for the aurora lights to be in NY? maybe in 2012 there will be
"Cleon Jones" is the baseball player who gets hit with the pitched ball. It hits him on his shoe/foot and so he is sent to first base.
A freak incident. I think they refer to this even today as "the shoe polish play."
It's the astronomical unlikyhood of such an occurance (as predicted by Frank in his discussion with Satch)...an incident which actually DOES occur in the film...that finally convinces Satch that Frank really IS telling the truth (about being on the radio with his son).
i get your words man !!! , you are not alone . I too can feel moisture surrounding my eyeballs.. my father dies when i was in high school , never got a chance to know my father , never had any prolonged interaction as he used to stay away from us due to his work. Thats why "Back to the future" and "Frequency" are my favourite movies ...
This is right behind Field of Dreams in father/son movies of all time. I'm 24 and my father is 57 and this movie tears both of us up each time it's on. Great movie.
I got to see this movie for the first time about a year ago on TV. I went out and rented it from the video store the next day. I think I really like this movie because my dad just passed away a few years ago and it hit close to home. I was only 20 and he was only 53.
If and when we think life should be other than it is,it is only our perception that is off. Everything happens for a reason. As the movie shows, if we had the ability to play god and change one thing, it would change everything. Only god sees the big picture and the perfection of it all.
One of the greatest 'Time Travel' movies ever, it's very underrated, but that makes it a little gem of a film. It's also surprisingly heartwarming even amongst the drama and tragedies.

Jim Caviezel rocks, both in this film and in "The Count of Monte Cristo."
He might be best known for his portrayal of Jesus Christ in "The Passion of the Christ (2004)" (a film I have not seen).
So it's possible he "rocks" quite a bit more than even I know. Quite possible, actually, as I am usually the last to know....
straightandkink917 3 years ago
yes, he rocks.. i think he is best in Thin red line.. what an actor..

I would opine that, to realize the best from this film, you DO have to suspend reason and belief to some degree.
If you CAN manage to do so, you are in for a real ride.
I can safely say this, (as of tonight): What you THINK you see...and know...might not be all there is.
mulsanne917 3 years ago
This is one of my own favorites. A GREAT film, and (unfortunately) rather underrated.
Thirty years from now, they'll call this a "cult" film.
Which makes me a full, card-carrying member of the cult I guess. :D
EVERYONE should see this at least once.

May I offer my heartfelt sympathies (?) for your situation?
My own father (who ignored me for so many years) is still here. So we, for our part, have had the chance to work through our mutual difficulties.
I'm sorry for you that you and your own father are not able to do so.
About a week ago now I finally decided to ask someone--anyone--to pray for me. For the very first time in my life (How embarrassing!)
And I have some reason, now, to think someone probably did.
So I will pass it on.
