  • Dude, you are in a spiritual Journey. Nobody can tell you the end of it, or where it will lead. You have must do the travel by yourself (alone), reaching each stage by your own effort, at your own pace, and going only as far as your present background allows you. I've been there, and the best I can do is to wish you good luck!

  • @ImSchnitzer

    Thanks for the encouragement.

  • That's pretty much my postion as well on this issue.

  • @charlesfloyb ( 1 OF 2)Atheism is such a sad belief. I mean, think about it, no purpose, no reason to be alive. Just alive. You live for X number of years and then you die. And all for what? Why were you here? Why was the universe made? No meaning, no purpose. To be an atheist, you have to observe that everything has a purpose in this world except for man.

  • @orderofmelchizedek1 You say, "You live for X number of years and then you die. And all for what? Why were you here? Why was the universe made? No meaning, no purpose."

That's the challenge of atheism! A person needs to have the self esteem to make his/her own reasons for being alive. And, I was indoctrinated as a Catholic early on, where I went to church everyday. So the way I figure, the interest on all that lost time is more time than what most believers put in, so I still get heaven

  • @charlesfloyb Your reasoning on the "credits for heaven" is interesting. However, that isn't how people go to heaven. No religion, no church, YES, no church affiliation will ever get anyone into heaven. You may have been just kidding, but I just don't want anyone to think that joining a certain church or any other "works" related act will in any way get you to heaven. The ONLY way of salvation is to have a personal relationship with Jesus. Invite HIM into your life and HE will do the rest.

  • @orderofmelchizedek1 " The ONLY way of salvation is to have a personal relationship with Jesus. Invite HIM into your life and HE will do the rest."

Ok, he's been invited many times. But, one thing must be understood when you talk about a "personal relationship". It's a two way communication process. Most "believers" just talk in private to themselves, calling it prayer, and it's a form of mental illness. Pick up some self esteem and make reasons to live outside of imaginary ones.

  • @charlesfloyb You mention he's been "invited" many times. I will assume that you have not experienced any change in your life. When you invited Him, did you mean it with all your heart without ANY doubt?? 1 Samuel 16:7 says God looks on the inside, the heart. He knows your motives. You must approach Him with a humble heart, believe that Jesus died to take away your sins, agree with Him that you cannot do it alone, you NEED what ONLY He can supply, FORGIVENESS!! If you are honest, He will do it!

  • @orderofmelchizedek1 you say, " When you invited Him, did you mean it with all your heart without ANY doubt?? " I respond=> Yes, I was young and believed what I was told without thinking. You say, " He knows your motives." I respond=> No God exists anywhere, so this is delusional thinking. Humans invent and believe in gods to serve human purposes. Maybe if you were honest you'd search to find out why you believe in a god.

  • (3 of 3) this baffled all who studied it until modern technology allowed us to peer deep into space, then, they discovered an amazing fact, there is an empty place north of earth that is so vast that it could hold 2,000 Milky Way Galaxies, and empty, no stars, no nothing. Now, man could not have known this fact, and yet there it is. My point, don't be so sure He doesn't exist, I think He does, and you need Him.

  • .( 2 of 3) The Greeks thought that the earth was held on the back of Atlas. The Hindus thought that the earth was balanced on the back of a elephant that was standing on the back of an turtle which was swimming in a cosmic sea. Only the Bible had it exactly correct, and didn't even mention these fables. There's more to that verse, it also speaks of "stretching out the north over the empty place",.

  • @orderofmelchizedek1

Of course we know now that space is not empty - it's full of cosmic dust, stars and planets.

The bible also claims the universe was created in a week's time several thousand years ago. Now we know this is exactly wrong, like most 'holy books' written by people.

This is how we know the bible is just another fable.

  • @proudfootz I probably didn't explain Job:26:7 very well. There is an area to the north of earth that has no stars, no planets, no nothing in it, it's empty. Mt. Palomar Observatory was studying the area last I read. They have stated that this area is so vast that a beam of light would take 100,000 years to go from end to end. This is proven fact, not theory. Your assertion that we know that its exactly wrong is false. Did you know it is a fact that the Bible cannot be proven wrong on ANY front!

  • @orderofmelchizedek1

bible is full of contradictions, falsehoods, and absurdities.

  • @proudfootz O.K., so you wish to believe lies instead of the truth, that is your right, but you will never be able to say you weren't warned. Truth is available, but you must be open to it's message. Good Day!!

  • @orderofmelchizedek1

No - I refuse to accept lies: that is why the bible must be rejected.

To prove bible claim about 'empty space' three steps:

    1) Go outside at night

    2) Look to the North on clear night

    3) Try and count the stars you see (Big Dipper is there).

There are thousands of stars North of Earth.

  • @orderofmelchizedek1 "Did you know it is a fact that the Bible cannot be proven wrong on ANY front!" hahahahahhahahahhahahahhahahahahhahahahahhahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahhahahaha That is the dumbest thing I have heard in a long time, thank you for the joke

  • ,(PartB) and after actually putting the Bible on trial, came to the conclusion that not only was it most likely exactly what it claimed to be, but he became a strong Christian as a result. His story is quite remarkable, you might check it out .

  • @Dare2Blink (Part A) Hey Dare, I promise you that what you have been lead to believe is incorrect. Give me (1), just (1) good example to begin with, and I will show you how you are mis-lead into thinking the Bible misses the mark. Many have tried to disprove Gods Word and have failed over the years. In fact, one of the greatest lawyer/jurists of all time, Simon Greenleaf, was challenged by his university class to disprove the Bible,

  • @orderofmelchizedek1

You have already claimed the bible says there are no stars, planets, etc to the north of earth.

This is easily disproved as there is a star called the North Star right there and anyone can see it.

Thus the proof that the bible is garbage is written in the sky in letters of flame.

  • @orderofmelchizedek1 hmmm let me see, I don´t know where to start. Here are a couple of examples: According to the bible the Earth is only a few thousands years old and was created in 7 days, and both these things have been dis-proven a long time ago and we know that it is in fact 4.5 billion years old. The bible also says that every animal and plant that exists today always existed since they were created by God, which was first dis-proven by Charles Darwin himself. Should I go on?

  • @orderofmelchizedek1 Seeing as you're quoting Job I figured I'd do the same.

The earth rests upon pillars and doesn't move (unless God gets angry or something). 9:6

"Which commandeth the sun, and it riseth not."

The earth is fixed and the sun travels about it. 9:7

  • @charlesfloyb ( 1 of 3) This statement you make about humans inventing gods is certainly true of many "gods" we hear of. However, there is a God,THE ONE TRUE GOD, that has proven beyond doubt that HE DOES Exist .How? Because there are statements in the Bible that man could not have known at the time they were written. For instance, in Job 26:7 we read that the earth"hangs upon nothing", no human at that time could have known this!!

  • @orderofmelchizedek1

There's lots of false statements in the bible, too. So if one true statement were to by accident creep in it is proof of nothing. Even a blind pig finds the occasional acorn.

After all the spherical earth disproves the many repeated statements about the supposedly flat earth of the bible's authors.

  • @orderofmelchizedek1 dude listen to yourself, so you think that every other God was invented but that somehow your´s is the real and true God. Do you not realise how ridiculous that sounds? Every believer in God things that their God or Gods are the only true ones, despite the fact that none posses any evidence to back up their claim, and that just shows how stupid people can become because of religion and faith

  • @orderofmelchizedek1

Theism is such a sad system of belief - to think that you are the slave of an evil spirit and are subject to its whims is so depressing!

Then when you die nothing! You wasted your life living a lie because someone used you and taught you lies about a 'god' that needed you to be its slave.

  • @orderofmelchizedek1 so just because you can´t find a meaning to your life does that mean that a God exists? What kind of argument is that? Sure there is meaning to life, it´s just that everyone must find their own meaning to their life. Belief in a supernatural entity just because you feel like there must be more to life than what you see is the only thing that is sad. Life is beautiful, rich and the universe is amazing, and I don´t need to imagine a God to see that

  • nice answer

  • I would also challenge such a deity with everything I had.

  • @AtheistBrit don´t worry guys there is no chance that God exists, you will never have to confront the world´s most popular imaginary friend :)

  • I'd confront it as well, with all my might. And IF this ever happens, I'd be with you all the way.

  • I have a feeling there'd be a lot of people who would want to hold such a being responsible for its criminal inaction.

  • @RtFusion ( 2 of 2) This world was perfectly constructed to support life, just the right amount of oxygen, sunlight, temperature, water to drink, etc. And all for nothing? I just wonder how much sense that really makes! I Think it's harder to believe in a no reason existence than to believe in a supreme creator who had a reason. Where am I wrong??

  • @orderofmelchizedek1 you are wrong in assuming that It was created at all. Just because we were incredibly lucky to find ourself in a planet that has the perfect conditions for life it does not mean at all that there is a God. It just means we are lucky, and besides, if you look at the billions of stars and planets out there, you realise how inevitable it is that some planets would be suited for life. And i´m sure ours is not the only one by a long shot

  • @Dare2Blink

The universe in general is almost completely hostile to life. Imagine you were transported at random to any location in the universe: chances are you'd find yourself in empty space and die within minutes.

Even the earth isn't exactly people-friendly. Transport yourself to anyplace on earth's surface at random and you'll find yourself in the ocean and likely die in a few hours or days at most.

The 'anthropic principle' is the kind of stupidity only a believer could love.

  • @proudfootz I agree that the universe is mostly very hostile to life, that is obvious. What I was stating is that besides the fact that the universe is so hostile to life, because of it´s incredible size it would be astronomically unlikely for life to evolve in only 1 planet. I do not believe at all in the antropic principle so please don´t attact people that actually agree with you

  • @Dare2Blink

Sorry if that came off as an attack. That was not what I intended.

You are absolutely correct that there is plenty of materials and opportunities for life to arise even though the universe is generally hostile to life.
