I think what helps give her voice a dreamy, moody, slightly otherworldly, psychedelic effect, is a subtle electronic echo effect she uses both in the studio & on stage. She`s already blessed with a beautifully emotive, sensual voice,but that slight echo adds a bit of extra magic & helps transport the listener to a pleasant other-world with Hope! I could happily live in that astral world!

Parts of this song reminded me a little of Heather Nova's 'Island' (check it out if you want). I've yet to hear a song by Hope Sandoval and co. that I dislike. Most of them seem to be in a very similar style, which is somewhat disappointing for someone who likes their music to have the occasional surprise, but I can still enjoy 4 or 5 of her songs in succession. They have a lazy, lilting quality to them. Dreamlike. The perfect music for walking barefoot through grass on a warm summers day.
