@UnlimitedWonder The Carolina's usually get it, especially NC since storms riding up the east coast hit NC first. That state sticks out and does a pretty decent job of protecting VA from a direct strike. However, under the right circumstances VA can get a direct strike. Thanks for watching
@tornadovideostock The water level with Irene was about 6 inches less than Isabel and it missed my house this time. But others in my community were not so lucky.
@BigJebby1 Glad to hear it missed your house this time around, but sorry to hear about other parts of your area. Same thing up here. So many areas in NY/NJ/CT and VT that are dealing with horrendous flooding!
@winterlove62 I'm sure everything will be fine! The Carolina outer banks haven't been hit since 2003. They will get hit again one day, but hopefully not during your vacation lol. Thanks for watching!
I'm moving to kill devil hills on June 3rd. I'm 26, and always lived in Salisbury, NC, but my husband works for Food Lion and is getting transferred to the area! I'm super excited about the move as I've never lived anywhere else, but I've got a week to get everything packed and I'm 35 weeks pregnant and I've got three kids to deal with already!!!! Ahhhh! Packing is killing me!!
I lived in Colington Harbour during my senior year of high school during Isabel. It was a magnificent storm, one of my most memorable ones. Yeah, you can see how well they constructed those overpriced hotels! Contractors use the cheapest material and labor in their buildings and charge hundreds of thousands of dollars for ocean front property. The damage from Kitty Hawk to Nags Head was unacceptable given the fact that we didn't even see Cat 2 sustatined winds!
@ajcusn I totally agree..the damage done to the Holiday Inn we were staying at was above and beyond what you'd expect from a Cat 2. Thanks for watching!
Thanks! Yes, the winds were pretty strong there for a while, I wasn't expecting much, but it was a pretty decent storm...definitely a fun one to document
here in virginia, hurricanes are pretty rare.

@TheSlipknotcs Oh that's horrible. I remember having a really tough time of it navigating the flooded streets on my way home after the storm.
tornadovideostock 1 year ago
@tornadovideostock it was bad but people helped clean it out and seeing people walkin on the beaches but i was young.

Firefighter0804- Even though it was only a category 2 storm, it certainly did pack quite a punch!
tornadovideostock 2 years ago
Yea, I was living out there at the time that happened, it flooded all back in Colington Harbour, and we were back there for a good time.
