I went to the race in 04 and 05. When i went the year after in 06 I was worried they were going to sound boring so I didn't wear ear plugs and it really hurt my ears the whole race and I was on an 11th story balcony. In 04 and 05 I didn't wear earplugs and it didn't hurt my ears at all so the v8s are just as loud but they seem to hurt my ears more so i prefer the v10s! lol
I agree. And I must disagree with Jonferrari, the V10s seemed (to me atleast) to be much louder than the V8s. I love them both though... I would kill to put one of those engines in my motorcycle ;)

maybe they tune the v8s differently to hurt your ears more to cover up the fact that they aren't quite as loud???
