I like rabbits but their dumb a rabbit living in my back yard actually made a nest in the middle of my yard uncoverd and I have 3 dogs well my dogs killed 2 of the babys and I was cleaning up the mess and I found one alive it died a day later but....the mother knew I had dogs what the hell was she thinking?

Yah it sucked when I found one alive because I didnt know if it was hurt but I put cinder blocks around the nest and on top so only the mother could get in....so I checked the following morning if the mother fed the baby but I found a stiff dead baby bunny.....

@debunker1 BS, those types of rabbits deserve to die, they are genetically engineered and are fucking up native populations. Its the same reason why people shoot grey squirrels and feral rabbits (ie rabbits that are descended from a genetically engineered domestic rabbit breed). Here they shoot many grey squirrels since they are pests and have near enough annihilated local red squirrels. In australia the devastation caused by rabbits is insane, i think that hunters are very right to blast them.
@debunker1 Black in the wild is an interesting color, not much of camouflage, I've seen hazel ones on my visit to Grandfather Mountain... I've seen cottontails through the rifle scopes before, but it took no more than a couple minutes before I laid down the rifle and picked up my binoculars instead. I'll pick my rifle back up if their population explodes. For now my vegetable garden's door is open

Take care to leave them be and just watch from a distance, so you don't disturb the "natural course". But then you said this 6 mos. ago so by now they're probably long gone. LOL
