  • Haunting soul stirring song that moves you to a higher plain. This song makes us believe the world is not just so bad.

The man is a genius and a story teller of the utter highest quality.

I come and listen to this song every now and then when I am at a low ebb missing my brother in law who sadly moved out to Australia in 2005.

  • Beautiful song, great singer. It took ages to find this - I loved it at the end of the Billy Connolly series about Australia. Trust Billy to use something so meaningful .

  • If someone heard his song and think that it is just a so-so song, try sit down and listen carefully. You cannot rush on Ralph's songs, it takes time to appreciate these songs. He tells somethings in the songs and the more you listen, you learn something more and the more you learn, the more enjoyable they will be.

  • Such a beautiful song. The man never ceases to amaze me with the simplicity of his melodies and lyrics.

  • I just love this amazing song. It's a superb example of the one of the finest singer-songwriting geniuses British folk music has ever produced. God bless you Ralph and long may you continue to make us laugh, cry and dream through your music.

  • This was orchestrated for Billy Connollys great tour of Australia...

  • This is the song I have been looking for, for many years since hearing it at the end of Billy Connolly in Australia.

I have finally just stumbled on it after seeing Ralph at a concert in Eastbourne, and perusing You tube for some of the other songs he sang. Sadly he did not sing this, but I am looking forward to his new album having heard some of the songs.what a meltingly deep and melodic voice...cosy, like a dear friend!

I have lots of catching up to do....this song is just pure magic !!

  • This song taxes the superlatives.

Everytime I hear it, it seems to sound better.

  • We've all probably lost someone who went way, way before their time and we've never had the chance to tell them how we feel. This song sums that up perfectly....

  • I ABSOLUTLEY LOVE THIS SONG, DIDNT KNOW HE WAS THE GUY WHO SANG/WROTE STREETS OF LONDON, I BELIEVE BILLY CONNOLLY IS A GOOD MATE OF HIS

  • Love the song, Love the video And as for Billy, I watch him over and over. He never fails to impress. A comic genius. Thanks :) 5*****

It almost seems Ralph penned this this song for my best friend Dan..

  • Took me ages to track this down, Only second to " True Blue " By John Williamson. Brilliant song and lyrics and so easy to play yourself

  • @chasant2008 John williamson is just an Ocker! this is class

  • I am overcome with emotion listening to this song, crying uncontrollably, so many thoughts of family past and present, I will have it played at my funeral, brilliant, thanks to Billy Conolly for bringing it to our attention, Ralph truly under rated

  • Forget SOL & research his work he is a genious

  • It's such a pity that most people only associate him with "Streets Of London", when he has written so many beautiful songs.

  • A beautiful song. Thanks for this.

  • absolute classic amazing lyrics makes your heart cry

  • omg so many people share this song it changed my life, love it

  • Always loved how haunting and soulful this song was on the Billy Connolly Australia tour. It simply makes me think of my dearly loved family now living so far away.

  • Beautifully sung by Ralph... this guy should have had far more recognition... great stuff.

  • Amen to that! He is such an amazing artist!

  • OMG! I loved this on Billy Conolly's show, but bloody UKTV cut it off with a voiceover over on it! This song is cool!

  • CLASS

  • Great song, But I have a real affection for billy connolly`s version. I have desperately been trying to get hold of this version for years! Does anybody know where it can be found?

  • Buy the DVd of Billy Connolly's world tour of australia as it will be on there, I might buy the DVD as they cut this song off on UKTV when I watched the end but UKTV cut this song off with a voiceover man talking on it! GRR!

  • Billy Connolly used this on his 'World tour of Australia'programs.

I remembered it from then and am glad someone has finally posted it - it's class

  • No point being pedantic unless you prove it I guess =P

  • Brilliant song! Glad someone finally posted it!!!
