Do you all have to be so negative. Can't you see Rob Bell is just trying to show how God can heal the brokenhearted. If you choose to interpret everything he says in a malicious and out of context fashion, you will naturally find a heretic. Jesus mentioned a parable about this, it involves a blank of wood and your eye.
@farisa2020 I don't think he was using a translation of the Bible.. because that quote does not exist in Galatians. However, a Zen guru wrote a book by that title... and that is not scripture no matter what way you paint it
Rob Bell is so awesome!! I love how he takes the scriptures from the bible and relates them to real life. This video is so good. See the full version as soon as you can and know God is saying to each of us - I love you buddy over and over....
@excellentchoices I'm sorry, can you please give me one reference to scripture quoted in this clip? you won't find one, because he doesn't use any scripture in this video
Rob bell is a dangerous heretic ...Read Your Bibles!!! Acts 17:11 These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so.
This Nooma is so relevant for me. We watched it at our youth group and I was mazed by Gods love. I think its fantastic that Nooma are producing these DVD's because they really help people like me who sometimes find it difficult to translate what the Bible is saying.
What is your basis for that comment? It's easy to make blanket statements. I think you need to try supporting your arguments, rather than simply listening to someone's opinion. I assume that's why you made that statement.
? Eastern Philosophy? He takes the SCRPITURES of the Old Testament and correctly translates the meaning of the words used in them, which he then in tun relates to Jesus (New Testament). Just because he uses a Hebrew word or thought doesn't mean he's twisting anything; he's merely interpreting what it truely says.
I'm showing this NOOMA to my Sunday school class...we're actually watching through all of them in a series!! I think this one may be a tough one for some of the kids...
this is so good and if your buy the video and find out the truth of it will speak to you. I was nearly crying. The power of God in this video is unbelievable.
We used this material at church yesterday - I was weeping - Then, there was a follow up sermon by our pastor on God's Grace. Does anyone know what the soundtrack music is for this?
Merci - They remind me a bit of Broken Social Scene (using the voice as a instrument) but more mellow - What makes this song a great pick is that it actually supports, or adds something to, the actual language and message of the short. Ergo, the dissonance (in the music) is a perfect reflection of that inner tug, or conflict, especially when mirror against God's amazing and perfect grace, which is quite hopeful.
This is my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE Nooma...I Cry EVRY Single time we watch it with our youth group...We acually used it for a convention we had for 6-12th graders...I love it..and it def. keeps our attention the WHOLE TIME (coming from a Kid Myself)..they are never too long and are good for Every age group.. I love Rob Bell and these Video's They Get an A++

What did he actually say?
farisa2020 9 months ago
@farisa2020 I mean, he called it junk, but it's more than junk. It's called SIN. Even for cool people.

"There's this great phrase, "wherever you go, there you are." It's written in the bible in the book of Galatians, like don't be misled"
Not actually in the Bible. But you probably believed him because he said it was.

Rob Bell is a very intelligent man, he so cleverly uses sophistry to twist the scriptures into eastern philosophy.
