Robert Nester Marley did not smoke himself to death he was playing football in bear feet and cut his big toe, and it turned in to cancer the doctors could have saved him by cutting his leg off to stop the cancer spreading though out the rest of his body, but this would have affected his performance on stage so he refused the surgery and there for the cancer spread to the rest of his body , you annoying little c*** you need to get your facts right before you open your mouth

buy african herbsman. the album. bob's early stuff with scratch perry was much better than the later stuff which your friends listen to when they play bob marley. the album is freakishly good, like from another planet.

..but Tosh was a musical genius and he was very prophetic. He didn't sell out. The reason Tosh didn't get as mainstream was because of his image. Check out his Peace Treaty speech in Jamaica- he got beaten for it. And he was also murdered. The record companies promoted Marley, TOO, because of his looks and catchy tunes. I can't even find a Tosh poster or T-shirt- it's only Marley. Marley is not the only reggae star. Alton Ellis, Toots, Cliff, are some of my favs.

Both were great artists, but Bob (as explained by EVERYONE who played/worked with both in every book you can read) had that "it" factor. He was magnetic to people. Read about Tosh, he was very much about Pete Tosh. Tosh wanted to be political, Bob just happened to be b/c of his message. Both great though. One Love breddah!

Bob had talent, but he was the chosen one because of his look. The record companies market people and their image. Bob was great, but I am a Peter Tosh fan. I have a lot of reggae music, but no Marley. The radio usually only plays Bob, and the only Tosh song is "Keep Walking...." with Mick Jagger. Pineapple Express featured Dread and Alive from Tosh, yeah. I just don't like mainstream music. Jimmy Cliff wrote songs people cover today. I think Toots and the Maytals are beyond amazing.

Look at all the posers going around pretending to be rasta, white rasta, and most do it for the same reason gangsters walk around with chains and baggy pants- attention. .
