mark smith falls out of davour with me, then he redeems himself to me as a true genius. I love the old agressive boozer persona he's taken on. I have to say i loved the more Beefheart-esque lineup with the LA guys in for Reformation Post TLC. But he's taken up some more members and a previous guitarist, all from 'blighty', and critics are calling THIS album (Imperial Wax Solvent) a 'return to form'. He's always been on form as far as I'm concerned (except maybe a spell in the 1990s perhaps).

I was there. nice show. I'm to the right in front of Elena taking photos. there was tons of media there and I think it may have contributed to the short setness. Intense photograpy going on? I spoke to the drummer after (Orpheo) and he said MES was just not keen. But loved it and the Brooklyn show.
