  • I noticed the graphic that came up saying "Total silence from CFA bosses". I've only been watching this moron for 6 minutes and my eyes have glazed over already! Put a bit more effort into ensuring your crew is safe by training them not to get in the s@#t in the first place. The good Captain needs to take more of the red pills and probably resign from his post!!

  • Ok, I love the fact that you completely miss the fact that you should NEVER allow you or your crew to get in a burnover in the first place! The truck WILL burn, BUT it will provide enough protection long enough to allow a fire front to pass. They are not designed to withstand a burnover and be unscathed.

And why did that bloke feel the need to be wearing his bushfire turn out gear? Muppet! You make us volunteers look bad!!

  • its im possible to make a truck fire proof, only protects from radiant heat, if you dont trust the gear you are issued with dont use it... ill would be quite happy to be in any tanker in a burn over

  • You are a fu*#ing fu$%wit! This is the biggest load of sh^t i have ever seen. The panels are there to protect from radiation, not direct flame contact. If your that close to a fire you (as captain / crew leader) have fu$%ed up. Get back in your box di$% head.

  • @theaussiefirefighter agreed, they wont even put a truck in direct fire

  • hey at 9:17 is that RFS firefighter

  • This is a very interesting video, I remember after Linton the low water level protection was brought in, and several tankers survived burnovers this fire season.

This is why now if you get in the situation where you are in a burnover you should have 500l of water left over to keep the tanker from burning as the fire front passes.

And the dual cab tankers are no better due to the high visability and plastics in the doors and frames.

But certainly any smart firefigher will know what to do

  • as a point those sims don't allow for the volunteers to use burnover protectection. which i have seen save a truck without it burning. and further to that the CFA is phasing out the trucks with the ROPs (rear crew cab) for duel cab tankers.

  • The bloke is a nutter ignore him and he will go away

  • If firefighters lives are lost through the negligence of the CFA KNOWING THAT THE EQUIPMENT IS FLAMMABLE then the officers should be charged with homicide.

  • Just shows the cover-up that exists in Victoria and the control the CFA exercise on Volunteers from their comfort zoneas paid staff .. it's a bloody disgrace
