  • El maestro de maestros tocando Bach!

&%"/$"$!!!... Es increible como el Maestro Göran, a través de la guitarra, lo lleva a uno a la época Barroca!

  • what a g

  • the gleen Gould of the guitar

  • @Cyrloud not even close...There is a German who plays 12-string guitar and he's way better than this guy. That said, he's a very good guitarist.

  • @minasgekos I sure doubt it. Maybe he plays better than this particular recording but I'm pretty sure he'd be more than some German guitarist if he was better than the world renowned Goran.

  • @GyveTurckee His name is Stephen Schmidt.

  • @minasgekos I couldn't find any guitarist by that name. But for the best of Mr. Sollscher check out BWV 995: Gavottes I and II en rondeau.

  • @GyveTurckee unfortunately i can't find a way to post the exact YT link but please take some time to write in the search box: " stephen schmidt partita for lute in E major 1/2 " -- this video is part of a playlist dedicated to Schmidt's recording of Bach's Lute Works, so I strongly recommend to you to listen the whole list, I'd be surprised you didn't like it. Cheers.

  • @minasgekos It is a very good interpretation and a difficult suite so I give him the credit he deserves. Also his name is spelled Stephan which is why I couldn't find it at first. As far as being better than Goran, I couldn't say, but you are right to compare him to the best because he is a superb guitarist :)

  • @GyveTurckee I'm glad you liked it. As you pointed out they're both undeniably great guitarists, I just prefer Schmidt's playing; and I'm amazed by the fact that he's quite unknown; the same thing applies to another German guitarist by the name of Tilmann Hoppstock (fastest Paganini caprices ever - you won't believe how fast and clean he can perform them - plus a very rare, out of print recording of his own Bach transcriptions). Anyway, cheers from Athens, Greece my friend !

  • dear maestro sollscher, your interpretation of bach is full of expression and i think that is a quite good example.all the best!
