  • nice bike but unreliable...too many issues with the transmision reported by users on forums.. and aprilia dont dont do shit to adress the problem......NOT GOOD !!!

  • 12000 mile service costs £800. JESUS

  • I'm in the process of getting one, Im so happy that someone has finally made an "affordable" automatic! I think once more ppl find out about this bike, sales will go up. Certainly for women riders and city life. Props Aprilia!!

  • Formula one, according to Wikipedia outlawed cvts because they are too fast. Once a scooter (cvt) starts breaking records on the track, more people will accept it. I like this bike and may buy one tomorrow.

  • Why can't they make one with more hp? Would be PERFECT! They should put this gear changing system in the Tuono v4r! ^_^

  • tried it and loved it...i'm fed up with the fricking clutch especially for city riding which i do for like 80% of the time anyway...*press* *release* *press* *release* *press* *release* your balls and wrists are starting to turn into moose, this thing is very fuel economical and it dosent feel like you're traveling seating on a toilet, its a bike..the best of both worlds ;)

  • From what I understand it's about 45 mpg

  • All of that design and effort and it is missing a fuel gauge. I still want one though.

  • so this bike is completely automatic? meaning if i were to ride this bike, it would be like driving an automatic car? meaning it'll change gears itself, without having to do anything yourself?

  • @Carfagno2223 yep

  • @Carfagno2223 It uses a CVT, or Constantly Variable Transmission. It doesn't shift, it just constantly changes it's gear ratio to keep you in the power band based on how far you twist the accelerator. It's like the transmissions that are used in scooters and snowmobiles. Very very nice :D

  • @Carfagno2223 Its like driving a tiptronic car. It has automatic and manual mode, in manual mode you shift gears yourself by pressing the peddle shifters, it will bounce off rev limiter if you don't shift it in manual. IMO its retarded that more bikes don't have this. At least consumers should be given a choice. Now even the most hardcore sport cars come in auto. Ferrari doesnt even offer manual anymore.

  • Asprilia? 4:47 hah

  • never seen one in NZ..or maybe I have, just didn't realise what I was seeing...that is a seriously cool putt

  • I like this bike. I will be trading in mine once I can set money to the side for the balance due.

  • Aprilia <3

  • It's not pronounced APRILEE-AA, it's APR-EE-YA.

  • @fotokitdirect No, it isn't.

  • I've seated on it , it's confortabe i like it but it's to pricey i'm from Poland THIRD world country . >sight<

  • Now I'm seriously considering buying one of these Mana 850GT next summer. It looks like a technological powerhouse !

  • Personally I don't like the idea... I want my clutch lever back! :-P

  • nkn

  • Be careful buying from aprilia guys, as much as I love my mana a blown relay in the ignition has kept my only means of transport off the road for a month, and when the part finally arrived it was the wrong one. Devastating. They don't care once they have your money.

  • What is the first song called? it is awesome!

  • How many m.p.g?

I used to ride a Honda 400 Auto. Great for town. Takes the hard work out of changing gear with the left hand.

  • how much worth this bike? ._.

  • I just rode one for a day.. demo bike from my local garage, actualy loved it! great bike soooo good for a courrier for example. Shame the top end have very little grunt, but the torque is awesum!

Absolutely the perfect runabout, and so well balanced. I'm very impressed! Aprilia set the standard in the revolution. Such a cool idea!! Love IT! Mana rocks. so comfy too.

  • Wow, Aprilia set again an innovation.. Sure the other companies will follow with theirs designs...

  • Take a look at the new ducatis

  • muy bueno

  • yes yes yes ...isn't lovable...???? now i will have a honda jazz 7 gear cvt and a bike 7 gear cvt.....!!!! i love open mind people.

  • I've watched this review like 5 times...I WANT THIS BIKE! Excellent presentation, particularly the background music!

  • I didn't even consider big bikes.. I was just sticking with small and large scooters for transport.

Then I saw this bike. I'm really in love.. that tranny seems just what I want. A similar feel to the scooters, but with the sequential gear mode to take it to an auto-stick car feel.

All while being on a rather stylish and good looking bike, compared to say, the outrageously expensive and shoddy looking DN-01. That's another bit.. similar in tranny style to the DN-01, but loads cheaper!

  • I'd trade 4 american designers for one italian. Thats a nice looking bike. Not to even comment on the functionality of that trans. goddam.

  • I have this bike. Its amazing. Couldn't imagine another one. But my helmet which is a medium Arai does not fit in the compartment. I put it in the back storage box I added to the bike.

  • i like the storage for the helmet, that new and quite smart

  • thats so true i like it to

  • Lixo !!

  • anyone know the background song thats playing at 0:19 secs?

  • largate

  • weno si

  • what model is that at 1:33?

  • this is an Aprilia Dorsoduro 750 cc

    bye.

  • ah.... thank you:)

  • I have a Burgman 650 with a CVT transmission. It is easy to ride and quick. Would I like a little more power? Sure!

  • whats the bike at 2:45 ?

    please respond, thankyou!

  • this is an Aprilia Shiver 750 cc

it has got the same engine of the Aprilia Dorsoduro

    bye.

  • no entiendo un cccooooooo--ito pero esas moto estan es bandera

  • noo entiendoo una mierdaa pero las motos estan to wapas xd

  • When Porsche came out with the Tiptonic gearbox ages ago everyone said that spoils the fun. Now its the same with bikes. But I believe it's the future. And I may get one to test it's touring capabilities over 20,000km and a few countries. But it will have to be tarmac mainly.

  • i dont see any problem with having an automatic bike, i prefer it. been riding for 15 years and i always wished for my bikes to be auto. screw shifting if you dont have to...now, for sports cars that a different story. but for a bike, who gives a crap. all of you people trying to act tough because you shift gears, get real.

  • I think of getting the Mana, I mean it will be my only vehicle & it looks great so why not. I just don't like it when it compares to coughgheycough scooters because it is a auto. Or I could get the Shiver.

  • why cant motorcycles be automatic just like cars? i dont see why not. anyone?

  • nah lol. i love motorcycles. i used to share one with a friend. but it never entered my mind why they couldnt be automatic.

  • I kinda like it, but I don´t know about not having a clutch.

  • I took a Mana demo for a ride yesterday. Not having a clutch felt exceedingly weird ... for about 3 minutes and every time I came to a halt. But it is ridiculously easy to ride, you get a choice of touring, rain or sports mode, or if you want it, manual, just without the whole clutch business. The riding position is extremely comfortable and the low centre of gravity and wide bars make dropping into corners a breeze. I've now bought the demo.

  • I love this bike and anyone who owns one must be a bloody good bloke

  • I'm all for this bike. About time I reckon. Thanks Aprilia for being bold enough to take it on. Let the evolution flow I say. My dream bike would be 850-1000cc, an in-line 4, have at least a 20 litre fuel capacity, a full/bikini fairing, a 2 finger front brake, and an electronic auto transmission like the Mana's. Oh, and have a set of large, stylish duel headlights that work both at the same time. And I like the storage "tank" too. I hope the constant "scooter" reference doesn't stigmatise.

  • why they are using still old light! looks bad other is gorgeous !!!

  • whats the top speed

  • 220 k mate

  • I like it. I would buy one.

  • I own one and it is brilliant. Gutsy and now that the tyres are run in and the engine is beginning to loosen and bite, it is amazing. Not cheap by any means but so much fun, and the passion red makes it a looker.

  • I test rode this yesterday at Rocket Ctr in Blackburn UK, great bike, lots of power, use full auto or the paddles on the handlebar..or gearshift, 7 gears! only took it to 100mph, but it pulls well, feels like a proper bike to. fuel tank is under the passenger seat, fake fuel tank is a helmet locker, with light and aux electric socket.

  • what is it? twist and go?

  • Yes twist and go...or manual, you decide, I was behind the 750 shiver and it kept up with that.

  • I am eager to see the response of the competition to such an idea especially from Suzuki ;)

  • odlican motor

  • Too bad they don't have any idea on how to manage spares and their distribution. If something breaks, be ready to wait a long time.

  • This bike is nothing like a Suzuki, Honda, or Harley. That's why it exists.

  • aprilia rules !!

  • Great bike!!! italian bikes 4ever!!!

  • when I got that correctly he said that the petrol would last for 200km. 15l fit in, so this bike kills 7,5l petrol for 100m?! that's kind of insane I guess...

  • A kilometer is 1000m, not 100. Shame it took 4 months for someone to point this out, haha.

  • And even then, 7.5l petrol per 1000m would mean you could go 2km before having to fill up again. Perhaps if it had a jet engine!

If I got my maths right (doubtful) 15 litres over 200.000 metres (200km) means 100m will burn 0,0000075 litres = 0.0075 millilitres. A dram of whisky is 30 millilitres, to compare.

  • Great bike!

  • this bike will be one on one with the vfr800 honda, but it need a bike review. practicality goes to the mana!!!

  • I'm on the list for one of these. I can see huge potential for that transmission. A 1000cc tourer with that tiptronic box would pe near perfect. Merry Christmas to everybody:o)

  • Italian motorbike rulez !

  • your a little bitch

  • take your SUV to the mall safely and be happy. Two wheels are life for me!

  • Die bist auch so ein Gay .... Hast keine Ahnung .... Wenn du erstma auf einem Motorrad hockst und mit 300 über die Autobahn fährst ... weiste wie verdammt Geil das ist .... Ich hab ne Ducati 794s und eine Hayabusa

  • This is really an idea that has come at the right time. With the rising price of petral , more people considering an auto purchase will be just as likely to consider this as a viable alternative. The transmission is opening a new segment of buyers.

  • petrol

  • Thanks for the spell chack. I should have said gasoline. Then you would know I'm American.

  • check

  • Yes.. that one was on purpose. I'm glad to see someone actually reply with some tact. Merry Christmas.

  • I'm affraid this bike will eat more that light hatchback per 100km ;) What do petrol prices have to do with bikes? They weren't ever designed to decrease consumtion.

This one I bet eats 8liters/per100km. Honda jazz car has 5-6 :)

  • Hmmm, normally I'm not a into bikes(my dad is the motorcycle nut), but this is a very interesting one. Really nice.
