  • Lets make insurance fair across the board. Allow men to pay the same premiums as women to insure cars etc.

  • 1. Women have more health problems, higher cancer rate, and health problems that are only specific to them, like pregnancy, and menopause. This is a statistical fact, not gender bias. (look up "biased")

    2. Women live longer than men, therefore they will have a longer medical history, costing more money. This is a statistical fact, not gender bias.

    3. The insurance companies are in it for the money, it's called capitalism, a founding principal of our country for the last 200+ yrs. Nothing new.

  • Those may be facts bu its not our faults. Try thinking how we feel. Just because inurance companies are in it for the money doesn't mean it should be that way. It's ever to late to take action.

  • Why do women not serve in ground combat units like men do but are protected from the increased danger?

Of the over 4,000 combat deaths thus far why are less than 2% female?

These are facts that apply to every war this country has faced throughout history and there are many more which demonstrate a bias in favor of women.

  • Women have given birth and continue to bear the children of all mankind throughout history, unlike men. Women serve our Nation and our species just as much as men. Defense is necessary, but military combat is not the most important function of the human race.

  • yes, women have to give birth (amongst other health related issues), hence the average higher cost to insure women. should people who use more health care have to pay for more health care, or should the government tell the insurance companies to pass the buck to men?

  • damn right vote out all dems and repubs

  • Here is the problem. Even the women who are leaders of the health care industry don't care. Remember our country is based on who makes the most money. Not who raises the best sons or daughters.

Now I agree that our health care system needs to be reformed and support a public option and even single payer. However I just want to point out that these people aren't evil, just mundane people who networked and bullied their way to the top to bathe themselves in wealth from the poor.

  • .Then again big business can make loads of cash on the pain and suffering of women..Lets see.. There is diets pills, digitally altered pictures of models (Because the holocaust victim look notion of beauty is idealized as sexy for some reason),cigarettes, lead and mercury based make-ups, clothes made inaccurate sizes (teen sized for a woman? Why?),and pain killers...See lotz of monies to extract from brain washed women. So why health insurance also?

  • Say with all this light being shown on inequalities of gender discrimination of generations ...When is the equalities act coming back? You know the one where it made discrimination and exploitation of the female gender illegal.Oh, that is right... It ran out of time..Just like allot of badly needed social reform bills in congress... Anyone remember the segregation filibuster in the 1960's? I guess Insurance companies and half of congress see women as sub- human...

  • It would be better if this were framed as an issue of health care as a right for all, female, male, young, old, employed, unemployed.

Treating health care as a gender issue in which men make the rules is quite misleading. Few of us, men or women, make the rules for insurance companies or public policy. We should have a unified, humanitarian front on health care and try to bring about health care reform for all of these problems in the ad through universal health care.

  • Don't these politicians have mothers, sisters or daughters?

Maybe they are the result of a virgin birth.

  • No tienen madres...

  • Thank you for bringing this into perspective.
