This game is old but it gives very good memories. The first time Tomb Raider came out it looked new then. This and Tomb Raider Anniversary are my favorites.

There was a key to get the 4-Wheeler that was outside... you had to get under the house from pulling a lever inside and running down there before the door shut. It was pretty cool.

I've been playing this game ever since I was 5. my dad bought me these games SIMPLY BECAUSE there was a female protagonist and I was a girl so he was hoping that I would have a good role model. Now that I think of it, I'm just as athletic, self respecting, and very well rounded like Lara Croft. Or am I giving myself too much credit?

Nothing beats a good old 1990s video game. Is it me, or does anyone else think that the 1990s was the most child oriented decade ever. I mean most of the PS1 games could have been played by children after school. The sitcoms (UK) like The Brittas Empire, Keeping Up Appearances could attract children. Shows like Rugrats, Mr. Bean, Wallace and Gromit and let's not forget the films like Jurassic Park. The 1990s was the best decade ever, and it was part of the GREAT 20th century. 21st century sucks!

I remember watching my dad play these on the computer TR2 was the best and the first 5 were excellent. AOD was really good but some of the classic features missing were dissapointing. The more recent ones I don't really like. Lara looks too different and her house doesn't look anything like it used to.

tomb raider, though the quality now is crap on screen, surely must be the greatest ever game created for the playstation, or any other games console for that matter. It's the worlds best selling one of all time, but that counts for nothing. This played a huge part in my upbringing, and i hope it continues in its new ps3 range. I just hope the house isn't changed one little bit

When I was like, 7 I was too scared to play Tomb Raider, even in the mansion. I didn't like the solitary feel of being alone with no one else but the creepy creatures, the darkness in the distance, the appearance of the killer bear, the eerie atmosphere, and the fact that I had a strong imagination that a ghost may pop out, and my fear of skeletons; even badly polygon-drawn skeletons in the Lost Valley sent me chills, and the skull walls in Vilcabamba.

Why is the Ark of The Covenant from the 1st Indiana Jones movie in Croft Manor in Tomb Raider 1 but not in Tomb Raider 2 or 3's manors? Did they take it out or something?

The Ark of Covenant was put there because Lara was originally supposed to be a female parody of Indiana Jones. In the commentaries in Tomb Raider Anniversary, the directors said that they took it out because they weren't sure if they had legal rights to use it. Apparently they should have kept it because the Ark of the Covenant itself is a real historical legendary artifact that is as historical as the Ancient Pyramids.

One of the things that got me drawn to Tomb Raider was its beautiful ambient music that was both eerie, pleasant and spelled out "adventure" and "mysticism". The violin strings were a masterpiece.

However, all of that shattered when the sequels were made, rock music was pumped in, and Anniversary made washed-out modern pop versions of the original songs.

Interestingly, this piece reminds me of the FIRST and second Harry Potter video game soundtracks, which was awesome. The next sequels sucked.

If you mean the locked maze you need to get the key from the aquarium in the basement, and to get there you have to do a dash from the attic all the way down to the main hall. XD
