@dilawer321 , the tranny has nothing to do with track performance. The chassis balance, cornering grip, turn-in stability, braking, steering, and acceleration do. This car is made specifically for track racing (unlike most AMG Benz's which are just dim-witted muscle cars built for straight line acceleration and comfort).

This car is available with a manual in most other countries. For some reason, MBUSA feels that its Benz customers dont like manuals. Thats the only reason it has an auto.

I got my E55 at 18, I'm 19 now, never had an accident and never drive erratically, you know why? Because I'm responsible as are many people this age, what the hell does age have to do with anything? My fathers friend has the exact same car though his is 05 mine is 04 but anyways same engine and he totaled it 2 months ago, he's 48 years old.

A used CLK63 AMG and a BMW M6 sell for about the same. I'm not sure which one I'd get if I could afford to. The CLK gets to 60 a bit quicker, the M6 can top 200 mph with the limiter off. Great cars.

lol I think it's an optical trick because the steering column is extended. But i agree, automatics suck, evenb though AMG makes some pretty fast ones, I prefer a clutch pedal, something pretty rare on Mercedeses.

gallardo actually sucks. my dad has a CLK Black Series and killed one on the PCH couple weeks ago. I just turned 16 two months ago and got an 08' SL65 from my parents as a gift so i can drive myself to Beverly Hills High. I have pics of both cars in our driveway and me driving them around if your really must see in order to believe. just lemme know and ill send them.

No. It's still weighs as much as a BMW M5. Weight spoils the handling. That's the problem with ALL Mercedes, BIG heavy engines with BIG heavy auto gearboxes, and all the garnish you can ask for, makes this car ALOT heavier than an M3. Don't believe me? Check out the Merc-McLaren SLR, it weighs more than a BMW 5 series with a 6-cylinder engine.
