@renragkrik That's why they're stoping. In Judo, you have to make your matwork happen quickly. If nothing happens for 20 seconds, they'll stand you up. If you're not even making progress or fighting, they'll stand you up quicker. These two realize that their opponent is very strong, thus, in the position that they land, they feel that they can't win on the ground in a short amount of time. Standing up is a strategic move, as matwork can use a lot of energy.
@CathaterW its basically about throwing your opponent on his back, pinning him to the ground or forcing him into submission with a choke or armbar. a judo match can be won either by getting points for throws, a ippon for a very good throw directly on the back, or by pinning your opponent to the ground on his back for half a minute or forcing a submission.
Its Basically the art of taking down your opponent in the best way possible. To be derived from wrestling as a Japanese Martial art they removed Double leg take downs and stuff. but I think its because they want to return the "traditional" Judo.
@BeaBeReppin Judo came from Jujutsu, not wrestling. I don't mean jiu jitsu either, that is the common spelling for brazillian jiu jitsu, which came from jujutsu as well. It then became brazillian jiu jitsu when a student of Dr. Kano (founder of judo) travled to Brazil to compete in a tournament of judo and jiu jitsu. His name was Masahiko Kimura, which is the name the Gracie's gave to the arm bar that defeted Helio when they created BJJ or Gracie Jiu Jitsu. The double leg take down was
@BeaBeReppin .............removed due to wrestling popularity in America, all the American judoka were just shooting double legs, making judo more like wrestling in a gi. So the double leg was removed for fair competitions sake.
Judo is so wierd like i personally am a jiu jitsu guy and i see these guys pulling guard but basically just to get a restart i dont get it and a lot of the other things seem wierd... the michigan guy is hilarious
Great athletic competition. I watch more MMA than the pure martial arts so its interesting to see where certain aspects of MMA derive their techniques from.
Judo's awesome
