The stars go straight from let to right.I noticed this when I first bought the VHS in the early 90's, and it's always made me wonder. They looked more like something out of the prequels where there's millions of things happening in the background that hs nothing to do with the story...It takes me out of the film

You aren't seeing a ragtag group of rebels fighting against a totalitarian government, you are seeing senators and the elite of the Republic. It made sense for the Rebels to have worn out and battered ships. It would not make sense for the Jedi to have the same.

@Zebonka The Theatrical Versions are available on VHS, Laserdisc and DVD. My kids can always watch those as they will always be available. These Blu Rays are going to have an extensive model catalogue as they take an HD camera into the Archives to show the hardwork the model/prop dept did and existing models. Don't cry. All is not lost.

Owning Star Wars on DVD now, it's sort of like needing 12 sets of keys to get in your front door. You want the best picture, so you put the Blu-Ray in. You want the (pretty kickass) Empire of Dreams documentary, so you have to go digging for the 2004 set. What happens when someone wants to watch Return of the Jedi and "Jedi Rocks" comes on? You don't expect anyone to actually sit through that crap, do you? I'd just like the movies, un-fucked by modern hand, and I have money to prove it.

Along with the non-buried music, it is also encouraging to see that the brightness is increased a bit. The DVD is too dark, much shadow detail is lost. I may have to actual buy the BD set.

I actually did some comparison shots and can confirm the detail/sharpness are much higher and the brightness is higher. Also I noticed color correction .. it seems that the death star is not overly blue as was in the DVD version. Still the pink engine is a bother and the fact that it switches between red and pink in different scenes bothers me too.
