A pile of worthless ash and outdated science equipment! HAHA!

When steve finds the pirates, the longshot view of them playing cards looks surrealist (?) in terms of how many people and objects are in that room. When they open fire I got a sense that in real life if you were in Steve's shoes at first glance you'd be so distracted all that crap all over the room, then by the multiple shooters and by the adrenaline there's no way you'd ever be able to a good aim and actually hit someone - unless to do cover fire and get lucky. But you'd be dead in an instant!

I love this movie. A few years ago, my mom and my sisters loved this movie so much that we dressed up as characters from the movie. My mom was Steve, I was Clouse, my sister was one of the jellyfish that they found on the beach, and my youngest sister was Cody, the three-legged dog. The sister that was supposed to be the jellyfish was wrapped up in bubble-wrap, and we all looked ridiculously funny. We all had a blast. :D

Great movie, I've seen it many times, and I enjoy this scene. Defoe, Murry, Wilson and Goldbloom make this movie work, awesome casting. The directors choice in Kubrick-like angles conbined with a mellow techno music gives the film a hypnotic atmosphere. Great job of a movie, I wish I was in it, I would of liked to play Defoe's character. Too bad Cody the dog was left behind, he liked Steve Z.
