I used to like Family Guy up to about season 3, maybe 4, but since then it's been a rapid downhill slide. Seth & co clearly care NOTHING about the characters, so why should we care about them? The show is just a shameless pop-culture gag exhibition,stupid cutaways that are devoid of humor or wit, with no substance or heart whatsoever. It's just desperation writing...throwing as many things at the wall to see what sticks, though hardly anything does now.

Family Guy is one of the most underdeveloped and most uninspired TV shows of all time, though I do agree with this guy that season 1 & 2 is great but the program just suffers from repetitive humor, if you can call it humor. Why do people like this show so much? Just stick to The Simpsons, its a masterpiece of comedy gold and its so fresh and so original it has way more depth in just about everything Family Guy lacks or doesn't have. Shows like Family Guy is the reason why I dislike U.S cartoons.

The biggest problem to me is that Family Guy (and a lot of Seth Macfarlane jokes) is so damn wannabe-funny. There's like this one scene where it goes:

'Oh really? That reminds me of that time Jafar needed glasses'

And we see Jafar sitting at the optician. And it's just that. Nothing more. No joke, no punchline, no excuse to put that scene there. Is it that hard to figure out what's funny and what isn't?

As for Brian being the "voice of Seth MacFarlane", this is a common error that all of these post-Tom Green shows (South Park, Family Guy) all fall into. Same thing with internet "humor". The problem is they're saying the wrong things. It's not so much what they're saying or that other people are wrong (which they like), it's that the speaker themselves think they're right.

The genius behind South Park's comedy is that everything that it's parodying is being observed from the eyes of a child (a.k.a. the main characters). It's basically about kids trying to make sence of all the dysfunction and wackiness of real world topics, pop culture, and current topics that we as adults take pretty seriously. That and Cartman is literally the worst possible person you can come up with.

King of the Hill was hands down the best fox show. It is equally every bit as good as Simpsons seasons 3-10. The Simpsons latest for 8 seasons before it started to go downhill - although it still makes me laugh. Family Guy's quality fell after 4 seasons. The more time they spent improving the animation, the crapper the stories and jokes have become.
