This tea party has nothing to do with the original one. That was about "taxation without representation", being taxed by England but having no say in where the money went, and no one to represent them.

How come Americans really believe this was all about a group of men (rebels) standing up to the British about taxes and tea. These same men were all local merchants, and were upset that the Brits had decided to let the British East India Company deliver the tea straight to Boston and skip London. Infact doing this made the tea cheaper not dearer, the merchants didn't want to be undercut so they made the raid, the BTP looks symbolic and patriotic but really it was all about profits.
