Overall Gain seems to be a bit less than the 78 Badass pedal in crunch mode (just an observation). The EQ options are amazing though

I WANT HANDWIRED CLASSIC PRE-'78 CIRCUT MXR DISTORTION + dunlop should make that. their script dyna comp and phasers are so awesome.

Sounds great but not that much different from my trust old Boss Blues Driver run through a Vox AC30 with tubes breaking up. MXR feels the need to develop new pedals with essentially the same tone as 200 other pedals. As a guitarist I'm frankly bored by the constant offerings of new pedals, re-packaged and sold to unsuspecting guitarists for a lot of money.

1 Distortion (OCD) and one overdrive (Blues Driver) is all I need on my board.  I don't play metal so I'm good. looks nice tho

@Royaltyrocksdude The OCD is not a distortion pedal. The OCD is a pedal that didn't work for me (90% too dark and the other 10% ice pick). That's why people still need different approaches of the same basic thing. Plus the fact that not everybody has a AC30, and can open it far enough to "break up". People need something that works with their gear, with their setup, en with their EQ without too much hassle or loss in response.

... eh... definitely not my tone. The thin, icepick Tele sound doesn't help either. BTW why does MXR/Dunlop continue marketing its new products to Country twang-bangers & not Metal/Hard Rock players? Are they trying to tell us something... like Metal/Rock guitarists either don't exist anymore/are irrelevant, or they don't buy pedals or don't have the fund$ to?

Personally, I think it's wayyy harder to play a Tele with low gain.
