@5cr3am0 I listened to "Kobrakai" yesterday after reading your post. The guitar sound is similar but both the riff and intro are different. I find it amazing how a band as influential as DL sometimes gets accused of stealing from other bands. Why would they do that? They really have no need to and they piss all over the lefty Lostprophets IMO. No one ever talks about the bands that copied DL's sound over years e.g. Bryan Adams, Bon Jovi, Ratt, Winger, Poison etc.

Joes voice still has its moments. I was at Phillips Arena Atlanta in 08 for the Journey/Def Leppard show. I wasnt able to hear for weeks afterward. That was Journey before the arnel failure, and Leppard had a 4 level stage setup for their "YEAH!" tour. No advertising at all, and only 3 week notice of the show....it was still 15,000 seat sellout. How could it not be if you think about it. I mean IT WAS JOURNEY! IT WAS DEF LEPPARD! IT WAS HEAVEN!

Not many Old school bands still together , Def Leppard has NEVER been afraid to try something different. This is one of their BEST albums. IMHO. A bit of everything for everybody. Wait till their next album , both Phil and Joe have promised more of a High-n-Dry / Pyromania type feel to it with less overdubbing and electronics but with more Bass and Lead Guitar . Better do it while Joe still has SOME of his studio voice left..... LEP4EVR!!!

Check my channel for a listen. Euphoria sort of has that old-style pop-rock Leppard sound. Promises sounds like a classic, Paper Sun is my favorite (and it has a purpose, it's about the Omagh bombing). It's b-sides like "Burnout" are also great.X leans too far into pop but has some good stuff like Scar

Trust me dude, I'm familiar with all of Def Leppard's albums. Actually First Strike is their first album. On Through the Night is what put them on the map though.

I will stand by my previous statement that this is one of the heaviest songs they have ever done. Certainly Def Leppard aren't really known for heavy stuff anymore but they still have the ability to play the heavy stuff and this song is proof of that.

Man all of Germany is awesome. I lived over there for 8 years while in the military and I absolutely loved it. German's are the coolest people in the world. Definitely going to take my family there on vacation someday.

I prefer the heavier stuff too but I've pretty much given up on them doing anything like OTTN or High N Dry again. But I suppose we could always hope. What pisses me off is that I know they can still play the hard stuff.
