wow really nice job. i am playing his arranged version of theme from sesame street and i cannot get that bari solo out of my head. i want to try and do that as a solo for our upcoming concert
It's acctually 1,3,5 and 9 but this is great start for someone who know absolutely nothing about improvising. I've been playing the clarinet for about 16 years and classical mainly until 2008 I started a jazz music school and I had a 5 minute playing as a part of the christmas exam in jazz harmony playing Autumn leaves 3 choruses out of memory(Solo, leading tones, harmony and improvising).
thank you for all your tips, its so great for those of us that can't afford private lesson or live far away. I have been playing for about a year, do you think I should start working on overtones and harmonics, or what else should I work on to get better. I love the way you teach, can you please put more clips of things we should be doing that you haven't covered yet.
Cool stuff, Denis!

I like the introductory and end playing by you on baritone. The improvisation strategy is very helpful. Thanks!

How convenient for Denis. The guy picks 1,2,3, and 5. Haha. Good tip, though.
