  • i enjoyed this vid

  • She makes me horny! :)

  • She's hot

  • ok so on a serious note... could you use the remaining biomass after the oil is extracted to produce bio deisle in the normal method?

  • Hey did that chick say somthing about algae or somthing?

  • All you guys care about is looking at the chick, no wonder American's economy is going down because most majority of the population is only interested in the entertainment, rather then the issue.

  • its the background music!! it gave emphasis to her hotness. it sounded like a background music of PRON. perhaps it really is.

  • if u leik pancakes thumbs this up

  • easylivinguide.co.cc

  • Jean Botti, CTO of EADS, talks about algae biofuel in an interview on EADStv (channel)

  • i wanna sleep with you :)

  • algae is working hard to make energy!

  • Considering the use of biofuel should really hammer home that Energy and Food are interchangeable, for those who think that we can simply get through peak oil by driving less.

  • @walter0bz I've heard that peak oil is based on current inneficient extraction methods where only 25% of oil present is actually extracted. This is to save the "powerful dollar". Basicially, peak oil is an ambiguous term that is based only on extraction procedures and other potential corporate/political reasons.

  • @donsjuand

    >>"I've heard that peak oil is based on current inneficient extraction methods where only 25% of oil present is actually extracted. This is to save the "powerful dollar"."

-money follows energy. You're saying they deliberately waste energy to save preserve money?

Money might be 'knowledge X resources' - but knowledge is easily shared which means its' only 'resources' mostly.

    >>"Basicially, peak oil is an ambiguous term"

finite resources run out.. thats all you need to know.

  • @walter0bz Actually all I need to know is that fossil fuel use causes ecosystem death, human displacement, pollution, health problems and global climate change. I also had to find out where I could buy an electric bike. To be honest, I wish I knew less about the matter, it's downright depressing to think about the damage fossil fueled civil development has done. Saying fossil fuels will run out at "some point" provides nothing meaningful, save for the researcher. Dreams are goals without dates

  • @donsjuand

    >>"To be honest, I wish I knew less about the matter,"

:) on the contrary I find the knowledge that civilization is generally doomed quite re-assuring to put day to day issues in perspective.

I think MMGW is a 'moot point' compared to fossil-fuel depletion.

Our exponentially rising numbers would always reach a point where there's only enough for one generation. IF you have enough energy you can solve other problems. (e.g, ability to heat, irrigate etc is why we used it)

  • @donsjuand I think you meant 'Goals are dreams without dates'

  • @walter0bz You are right when talking about corn ethanol for example. However, there is no good reason for Algae production to interfere with food production/consumption. Ever had an Algae hamburger?!

  • @donsjuand -

Energy and Food are interchangeable, end of.

Spirulina Algae is edible. The aztecs used to eat it.

So, anywhere you are growing algae you could be growing food.

(even if not spirulina, its just a plant, and you could pick one more apetizing than spirulina)

With oil, machines can use underground stored energy thats' not in edible form. Post fossil-fuel age, machines will compete with humans for solar-power.

  • @walter0bz Yeah you seem to know what I meant :) Algae does not require soil. Algae does require H2O, CO2, and nitrates or phosphates (differs with strain type). Fruits and vegetables do naturally require sufficiently fertile soil. Algae could be grown on infertile land (arid desert is one example). Do you ACTUALLY think solar cells will compete with people for the sun?!?! And when you say compete, what do you mean? Sounds like a stretch.

  • @donsjuand

    >>"And when you say compete, what do you mean? Sounds like a stretch."

    - people will have to directly choose between using sunlight to maintain advanced lifestyles or using sunlight to feed the extra billions worldwide that fossil-fueled agriculture & trade produced ... neither will be possible :)

  • @walter0bz Nations will one day have to find ways to convince their people it is not wise to have seven to ten children. Then there won't be gazillions of people to feed.

Vertically grown alga can be produced on arid land not suitable for growing crops.

Enter #1 vertigro and learn what else can be done with alga.

  • bend over for me the time has come. Check out vertical algae production.

  • Just looking at you make me think GREEN!

  • Whats with all this talk about turning CORN into FUEL? Thats the dumbest thing I've herd since GAY MARRAGE! Think about it for one second in your tiny cheeseburger fat filled American brains, CORN is also......wait for it......FOOD! We feed livestock corn, we put corn in everything from Coke to Cornbread, how can people be so blindly ignorant? Sure lets do it! maybe it'll kill all the mindless zombies that cutt me off in traffic!

  • @Spocktavian Don't think you really know how it works for algal converting to fuel, learn more before you talk would be a good choice

  • @Spocktavian Says the zombie.

  • @motoballz YEAH i wouldnt talk girlfriend, youre a zombie, only you eat dicks.

  • @Spocktavian Dude, Gay marriage and Ethanol??!!! These are hugely different things!!!!

  • num num num

  • You know what I really like about this video is that she admits that this technology has bugs to be worked out. She doesn't paint it as a fix-all panacea.

Big oil lobbyists never do that.

  • Is she furry or shaved??? Thats what I care about! And those implants, mmmmmmmm

  • @3389p89p hahaha

  • Thank you for your information again, the first video I watched of your channel is about is environmental friendly products is real as what products says, and I like your explanation. I was in a environmental science class of high school, and your information give me a clear view of the things I'm interest on.

  • Take your shirt off

  • why are you presenting with full of sexual .....

  • she's too hot to be smart... this video is obvious bullshit, just because she's so damn sexeh

  • Bad idea. Don't switch from a source of fuel that poisons the air, to a source that creates the majority of our breathable air. Algae is our number 1 source of oxygen on this planet.

Why not end world hunger by eating all our children. Or ending inflation by just burning all the money. Solar, tidal, and geothermal energy is the only energy we should switch to. Not replacing one bad idea with another.

  • @AClRCLEOFLlGHT What if we found a way to use the sun to grow algae the way agriculturists clone a plant? ie: NOT use algae grown for nature's purposes :P Algae did, does and will produce oxygen, yes. How is that bad?

  • @donsjuand : Perhaps you are unaware of what the government does when it gets its hands on agriculture. You should watch "the future of food". If someone starts using algae in a way that makes profit, the government will move in, genetically alter the algae so they can own the patent for their gene thus by default owning the algae itself because the gene will spread, and then you have government ownership of that oxygen.

No thank you. I don't want to pay a breathing tax.

  • @AClRCLEOFLlGHT Sounds like a stretch to me. It's actually illegal to patent a plant under US and Canadian laws. A patent is for intellectual property, not natural biological processes. These are two different things.

  • @donsjuand : When a gene is altered, it can be patented. Such as the Gene they put in corn that makes it not reproduce fertile seed, causing farmers to have to buy seed each year. Or the gene that causes corn to grow its own pesticide. These genes are patented and if they show up in the corn , are the property of the patent owner. Many farmers are sued this way by large corporations that own patents on agriculture. Doesn't even matter if the gene blew in from the field next door.

  • @AClRCLEOFLlGHT I don't think that's feasible for the government to do :D Private organizations are the ones doing research here.

  • @donsjuand : ... "are you stupid or something?"

  • @AClRCLEOFLlGHT Is that the mouth you kiss your mother with?

  • @donsjuand : Haha... wasn't aware "stupid" was a dirty word. But thank you for answering my question so obviously.

  • @AClRCLEOFLlGHT Assuming that's what I meant, sure. Anyhow, I'm looking to exchange information with people who prove to be intelligent in regards to alternative energy and practical, useful discourse. You asked me a useless question!

  • @donsjuand : I told you that large corporations have the ability to create monopolies over agriculture, and they do. Corn, Wheat, Rice, etc. Algae would be no different. You came back saying "I don't think that's feasible for the government to do"? It kinda doesn't matter what you think is feasible when its actually a reality. But that's not the kind of "intelligent conversation" you're looking for. You want an "I think, I don't think" conversation. Can't give that to you, I like facts.

  • @AClRCLEOFLlGHT It's a stretch because natural algae works just fine :)

  • @donsjuand : My god dude, this is obviously WAY over your head. Corn and wheat worked pretty good naturally too. Till corporations paid for research to alter genes in them. They can and will do the same thing with Algae if algae ever became a source of profit. Corporations would work to find a way to dominate the market. That's what they do. No stretch. Only stretch here relates to your inability to reach this level of the conversation.

  • @donsjuand : I also find it hard to believe that you are honestly this willfully ignorant, so I'll assume you're just trolling me and posting stupid unrelated replies on purpose. My dialog with you is finished b/c its clear you have Zero comprehension of what I'm talking about. You're still on the ground floor.

  • Plant is Plant Form. Algae is Algae Form. They are two different things. If it is a Plant Algae, you call it a Plant Algae. If it is a Fungus Algae, you call it a Fungus Algae.

  • @heartlessvietboy I had drawn the conclusion that Algae was a plant based on the similarities of containing chlorophyll and producing food such as sugar through photosynthesis. However, I just found out that Algae reproduce by division, cloning, or sporing and contain a single cell type (from a quick search) - cool. Therefore they aren't classified as plant. Interesting. But what does it mean to science?

  • @donsjuand

To science, I believe that Algae is its own classification. In an evolutionary sense, it's seen as the transition stage between plants and animals from way back when the single celled creatures on the planet were still in their early evolutionary stages.

But hell, it's been two years since I've taken Biology 101...so don't quote me on anything.....espcially since I'm a media student :D

  • @donsjuand : So all they'd have to do (and would do) is put patentable genes into algae to create a monopoly on the market. The gene would pass to wild algae naturally, making even wild algae, owned by the corporation holding the patent for a gene. Its sick... its a loop hole... but it works and costs farmers around the world millions of dollars in fines for copyright violations. Twisted isn't it? But its 100% true

  • She makes it hard to concentrate, what's this about algae producing fuel? :)

  • @emerson24 You poor primitive creature.............

  • The way the world is heading you can forget about this. When they implement global carbon taxation and devalue are currencies we won't be able to afford to drive a car. You will be lucky to even get food for your family when hyperinflation hits.

  • whew presenter is hot and topic is important.

  • Algae oil, like hydrogen, is a big oil delay tactic. There are several electric car models that will be available THIS YEAR. Electric can run off powerplants that use nuclear, solar, geothermal, wind, you name it. If hydrogen and algae oil do become effective in another fifty or sixty years, they can plug powerplants that use them into the grid and you'll never have to change from the same electric car technology you got in 2010!

  • @Bill1275w Electric is a good idea for people to use right now, while waiting for something better. Be aware that your electricity could come from oil, hydro, or wind (or any combination of). You should ask your utility company and contact your politicians to push for renewable energy sources of hydro.

  • What about hemp fuel?

  • @charronfamilyconnect The reason algae gets a lot of attention in the scientific community is it's high natural oil content (less algae = more energy).

  • @charronfamilyconnect The reason algae gets a lot of attention in the scientific community is it's high natural oil content (less algae = more energy). Another added benefit algae could be used for is co2 export from pollution sources (ie: dirty manufacturer next door neglects energy reductions). The algae can metabolize the existing co2 rather than use energy to create a new co2 source to feed it.

  • COLD FUSION!!!

  • The time has come for Free energy to be revealed ,But the Big corporations spend millions to ensure that information does not spread to the masses,Get a motor that needs no gas or electric input at LT-MAGNET-MOTORdotCOM ,Start the energy revolution!

  • Lets git er done!

  • Algae fuel won't be a solution for green house gasses. It's just another way of releasing solar energy back into the atmosphere, just like burning fossil fuels, which is basically "green power" too, since it consists of plant-an animal waste. It's the free CO2 that's relevant here. And instead of letting it disappear underground, as nature did it for eons, you're putting it back into the atmosphere by burning this fuel. The society should be lean on everything that burns to reduce CO2 emissions.

  • @Skoda130 We should remember the Earth is no closed system, and there isn't such a thing as a closed circle. Energy and matter from the sun is entering our earth, and it's something that should be dealt with in the greenest matter possible. Burning it isn't a green way at all. Algae-oil is just another fossil fuel, and both are basically energy from the sun.

  • @Skoda130 ACtually No, Algae is not a fossil fuel! The beauty of algae as most experts claim is that it converts CO2 and when burned releases the same CO2, so theoretically it forms a loop. On the other hand, Fossils fuels like oil, releases new CO2(well old CO2 which has been sealed away) into the atmosphere causing problems.

  • @hihosh1 Fossil Fuels basically introduce extra CO2 into the atmosphere whereas the Algae option just releases the same CO2 that was already in the atmosphere back into in a a loop.

  • @hihosh1 It's much like saying: "The turd is sealed in a plastic bag, because it stinks. Let's unseal it, and it will probably stop stinking."

  • @Skoda130 your analogy is wrong. Maybe if you're speaking about oil ssure but why do you say it's sealed with the algae? Algae are simply a type of plant and you find algae all over the ocean algae would release more oxygen while it is growing, would release CO2 when burnt but at much lower level than oil and would be reabsorbed but plants and fresh algae. It would add to the surface area of plants absorbing CO2.

  • @hihosh1 Once again: If the oils made from algae have the same properties as the fossil fuels from now, which they seem to have, than you will maintain the same pollution figures. It's all about the properties of the fuel itself, and NOT where it comes from, because in fact they're from the SAME SOURCE: Biowaste.

  • @Skoda130 SIgh.. Do I have to do this? Right Benefits of Algae quote ' The production of biofuels from algae does not reduce atmospheric carbon dioxide (CO2), because any CO2 taken out of the atmosphere by the algae is returned when the biofuels are burned. They do however eliminate the introduction of new CO2 by displacing fossil hydrocarbon fuels.' The best way to produce it cleanly would be to use wind and solar power to generate the enrgy required to grow the algae,

  • @hihosh1 Ofcourse I agree with the last thing said. But let's assume the proposed cycle does not reduce CO2. Doesn't that mean we're still depending on fossil fuels to produce new CO2, since CO2 figures will decline by natural causes when we stop burning fossil fuels? Worse: In the current bioreactors, CO2 is pumped through te water to increase the growthrate. How we're going to keep up when the introduction of "new" CO2 stops?

  • @Skoda130 Thank you for listening, now why are fossil fuels called fossil fuels? They are called fossil fuels because they were buried a long time ago and we have to dig them up. There is already a certain amount of CO2 in our atmosphere, however when we dig up fossil fuels and burn them, we are adding more CO2 to the atmosphere than there should be. by using the algal method you would be taking the CO2 already present, for the algae and returning it to the atmosphere. Very different.

  • @hihosh1 But how is it possible that millions of years of "burying" oil and coles, haven't brought co2 figures down, throughout the millions of years when they disappeared underground. And they become a problem when we burn them. This suggests that there's nof a fixed pool of co2 on earth, but that it can vary. If ot possible that lifeforms, made by solar energy actually are introducing entirely new co2 to the earth's system?

  • @Skoda130 Argh, no, come on skoda are you serious? Now you're being silly of course there has been CO2 in the atmosphere, CO2 is essential. The problem is that as we started burning fossil fuels the amount of CO2 has been increasing too fast. No! Solar power does not create new CO2! Solar power generates power from the warmth of the sun. This is why I suggested using solar power to power the systems required to use the algae route. Solar energy doesn't have a harmful waste product.

  • @hihosh1 I don't knowwhat to think about these fuels. Nothing ever has only benefits. A lesson that I learned in life is that when anything sounds to good to be true, it usually is to good to be true. But I honestly don;t know about algae. There's a lot of pages about algae on the internet, but usually the sites are ideological instead of scientific. There's not lot "objective research" available on the net. It would be great if algae could work.

  • @Skoda130 skoda the problem is that before we were not technologically advanced enough to benefit from some of the clean technologies that are possible. the problem is that we have been burning fossil fuels for about a century or more and because it is easier and more profitable some government s and definitely major corporations don't want to stop using it regardless of what is happening because they are afraid of losing their profits.

  • @hihosh1 Are you involved in this kind of fuels somehow? Can I send you a PM sometime soon? The space in these comment sections is a bit limited. I would like to somehow get my facts straight, because I feel dazzled between 'pro's & contra's".

  • @Skoda130 No I am not, but I do research it in my own time and try to understand it. It's not that difficult to understand. You know there are forums as well where people who make their own types of technology will speak to each other and these are usually a very good place to learn. These people are not businesses trying to sell their tech, these are people interested in getting off the grid not having to pay for electricity and it's always interesting. I have always been interested

  • @hihosh1 in anything that improves our tech and also in plants and nature. This is why I wish they would stop using fossil fuels, it is holding us as a species back from improving, if you think of it as a video game like say age of empires, the fossil fuel period was a stage in our development, but we are past that now, it is time to move on. Tesla was amazing he knew things which were pooh poohed because they could profit from them and look where we are now.

  • @Skoda130 research, there has been a lot of research into wind and solar technology. The only way that you can say that nothing ever has only benefits depends on your point of view. If we stopped using oil the world would cool down. Some people would say that is a negative but if it helps us survive it's a positive.

  • @hihosh1 skoda how do plants work? How do they live? They take in CO2, some oxygen and sunlight and give off oxygen and water as a waste product, at night they give off CO2, which is the same or less than what was already in the atmosphere, They don't create "new" CO2, same with algae, because algae is a type of plant after all. Basically algae and plants are a gigantic lung for CO2. So when CO2 returns to the atmosphere it's not new CO2 on the other hand, you know what I'm going to say.

  • @Skoda130 To your question of how we would keep up, how does algae in ponds and in the ocean grow, there is a lot of CO2 in the atmosphere from natural sources like volcanoes, etc.. Maybe (and this is a stretch you could grow algae in areas like Iceland, New Zealand, etc.. using closed ponds kept warm by geothermal activity and fed CO2 this way as well.

  • @hihosh1 The earth is no closed system, and there is no such thing as a closed CO2 cycle.

  • @hihosh1 No, it's NOT a loop. The algae grow of ADDED energy from the sun. In the past, this energy disappeared under the ground, and became the oil and coles we're currently burning. Fossil fuels ARE biofuels, because they're essentially from the same kind of organic materials! Burning algae means sending this energy back into the atmosphere, instead of letting the organic compounds "fossilize". If "sealed away" fossil fuels cause problems, then why would you stop sealing it away??

  • @Skoda130 not true, the oil or extra hydrocarbons were sealed away, but the more we burn the more gets introduced into the atmosphere, on the other hand Algae would theoretically use the carbon already in the atmosphere thus the carbon being released would just be the same that went into the algae. Then the released carbon is absorbed again by the new algae and goes in a loop or cycle.

  • why dont they use the heat waste from power plants to destroy the algae, that'll make the oil easier to extract.

  • marijuana based ethanol is better

  • Anyone notice how this bimbo constantly mispronounces algae?

  • @davedavedaveannoy1 algae can be pronounced with a g or a j- its pretty much recognized everywhere unless you aren't English or have an upper brain tumor.

  • @davedavedaveannoy1 yeah, and a few other things...

  • @MiSiempre Testosterone is great isn't it.....

  • Beautiful presenter and beautiful concept! Definitely worth a watch.

  • Why don’t we organize, find and support the real technologies. Well organized we can fund all relevant projects. However greed will have to be taken out of the picture. Hello my name is Jordan and I am a young social entrepreneur.

We are always pointing our fingers at the large conglomerates i.e. Government. That is keeping us from the legal and wide spread use of smart clean technologies. Well I hate to be so blunt but the fault and answer lie in our hands.

  • Sounds great. Better than the dinosaur death goop. Hate to ask - does it pollute when burned (like from a tailpipe)?

  • @JackieEco tail-pipes dont really burn anything, but whatever.

since algae is carbon based, burning it will fuse the carbon in the algae with oxygen in the air, to make carbon dioxide, among other gases. burning anything that isnt magical will pollute, so even if you stick a hippy in your gas tank it will still create harmful gas.

    does that answer your question?

  • @kerog6 i ain't a frickin' mechanic - secret is out, i guess.

  • @JackieEco i was bored at 2 in the morning. magical things dont pollute. yeah...

  • @kerog6 nice one!

  • @JackieEco i can see how you would misunderstand that, but im not going to correct you. its more fun this way.

  • hey nice green house how come plants don't move. I want to see a car that runs off it.

  • why does she say AL-JILL? instead of ALGEE.

  • @mikeye9 It's algal, meaning that algae is used as a means of production, so that's why it is called that. Just a different word to use.

  • Very Interesting !

  • if they make the planes go on algae fuel it could clean the air......

  • wow.. something ueseless all these years that was a very nusicence will become something very useful and algae cleans carbon dioxide so... it could clean our air and be a cool useful fuel at the same time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! brilliant!

  • "wow.. something ueseless all these years that was a very nusicence will become something very useful"

    then you say

"and algae cleans carbon dioxide so"

You a dick. Algea has always and will always be the best plant on this planet!

  • she is hot! Valcent is getting it done, i onw there stock!

  • there was one scientist who invented H2 engine but he was killed guess who killed him ? oil magnats of course if we turn in to H2 fuel oil is useless almost so oil magnats losing money it was i think so 10 or 15 years ago so if not the oil magnats we already 15 years rided with water

  • thats good

  • Like This You Like Myn Watch My Video Many Thanks

  • MMMM sexy presenter, what algae used for biofuel? Oh yeah, MMMMMM woman sexy me like.

  • @mlh8723 no... how much oil can she generate out of 1L of cum?! that might be a very interesting alternative...

  • this is retarded, the technology does exist, it just has to be funded so they can start building the plants. Valcent vertigro system, go invest in there stock, make it happen.

  • no, if its such a good idea it needs investors not funders, my hunch is the idea while very good is not very good enough. let me explane, if drilling refining oil was a very good idea why is the return on investment so low?

  • @datzfast when i say funding i mean subsidies and investors, and the rest of your sentence doesnt make sense, please read it and rephrase, so i can get what your saying.

  • algae biofuel seems like a great idea. hopefully sooner than later it will be cost effective enough to become mainstream.

  • Algea is free...

  • so is air,

  • oh, certainly in the next century.

  • are you saying that the scum in washington can actually be turned into something useful?

  • LOL

  • @hiodr

Sorry, I think you mis heard her. She said ALGAE! Not completely useless government asses! For them, I dare say the only use is rat poison....as in being turned into it. Think about it. Not even the most hardened NYC rat can withstand the pure BS that Washington has to offer!
