I got this achievement like the first time I played the minigame. I then went ahead and bet the max in one game and got 5 ringers in a row. It's not as fun as Poker or Liar's Dice but it kills time whenever you're bored. I just try and get as many ringers in a game as I can now.

i was so lucky to get this trophy and i even laughed when i got it cuz when i threw the horseshoe i threw it too early so it hit the ground and then jumped to the middle of the stake and got the trophy. This minigame depends purely on luck.

k well to get this achievement follow this instructions

1. aim so that its 1mm away from your finger (left side)

2. once you finished aiming hold down on left stick

(note) get ready to hold up making sure you JUST touch the bottom of the throwing bar about 2mm from the bottom throwing bar

3. now whilst holding up on the left stick just before the bottom black bar press right trigger (R2) for ps3 and wallah achievement done

You'd have to be REALLY hard up for entertainment to bother getting frustrated with this minigame. I'm just going to pretend it never existed and hope the rest of the game is better (which so far it is). It's about as fun and as meaningful as trying to shoot toenail clippings into a paper cup on the other side of the room.

Its easiest if, after you've aimed your shot, pull back on the RS about half way so that bar goes down and a decent speed, and then full forward, and at the middle of the meter, release.

First time I actually got the horseshoe hanging from the pole, :/ but then i gut a full ringer 2nd throw. Takes time and practice and frustration.

Releasing the horseshoe while it's the middle of the meter is only half the battle:

The "pullback" timing and "release" timing also factor in. Pull down and push up smoothly, there is a timing to it. Cant pull down too fast or too slow, and you also cant push up too fast or too slow.

A ringer is worth 3 points. In order for a horseshoe to be classified as a ringer, you must be able to draw a straight line between the open ends of the horseshoe and not have that line touch the stake.

Did you get it this way? There are different rules, I think they mean this one. I too was confused at first. Then I got one that counted as "3" points.
