Dr how can you tell if they have feather mites? And which spray did you use?

usually i would use avermectin, two drops on the back of the neck it kills all parasites inside and out. what do you think dr?

@oOoSorrowoOo oh yeah one more thing, avermectin affects fertility so you would want to use it AT LEAST month or month and a half before you try to breed the bird.

@oOoSorrowoOo It treats those that come in contact with it by the blood stream and lymphatic system. It is not reliable for feather mites that are not blood suckers.

feather mites...are they the same type that cause the scaly face?

@CynDaLightz No, scaly face mites are Cnemidocoptes sp. Very different under the microscope and different treatment required.
