Well at least the kids at this show were moving! They're not the best dancers but who cares?! They look great specially the black-haired boy with the white turtle-neck doing something like air-drumming and the robot LOL
this is neither big mamma thorntons version or presley's,or anyone elses version, this is ,if you havent already noticed a version by little richard,.....hes the guy you can see singing on the screen!!!
Little Richard did a suberb job. But, he is doing a cover of "The Undisputed King of Rock" Elvis Presley who had (15) #1 Gold hit records on the US Billboard charts between 1956 - 1960. How many #1 hit records did Little Richard have during the same period??? Elvis' version was a cover of Freddie Bell & the Bellboys. The original version sung by Big Mama Thornton was about a man & was too raunchy.
Richard is the "King "and he's doing his thing on this one. Richard has a super dynamic range and voice. Boy is he killer!!! I wish someone could show some of the few TV shows he did live in the 1950's that would be the greatest.
Yes this was from a live TV in 1957 from I think Manchester/Birmingham.The backing group( The Kentish Wall Of Sound) The most Fabulous Sounds Incorporated. They had a uk hit in 1965 called william tell.I saw that TV Show Live in 57 I was eleven it knocked my socks off!

This is 100X better than that fat redneck Presley. It's actually the original version he's singing, from Big Mama Thornton.
iVenge 4 months ago
@iVenge Right, it's the original version because Big Mama Thornton was singing about a man, and, of course, so is Little Richard.

@iVenge Elvis was no " fat redneck" when he recorded this song. Also this is the Elvis version, listen to the words.
You don't have a clue do you.

@27gunner This was made in Manchester around 1965 and does feature William Tell by Sounds Incorporated. It certainly wasn't 1957!!
