How do I hunt they always get away. I am omega and need to get stronger. I chase rabbits but they always get away. I make sure the wind is not where I am coming from. Do you have any tips please help I might starve soon.

For those who dont know: Alpha is the leader, Beta is the wolf just below alpha (first mate kind off) and Omega is the lowest rank, they are essentcialy the screw up that nobody likes.

hey guys, here's a tip: Pressing F1 will pause the game a bring up a menu that shows every command and which letter to press. It's very useful for beginners.

But Hm... On tundra the mating time is the two first weeks of spring right?

So then I made the game start on spring but the alpha female wont mate with me and im alpha male. And we both were rested and full health, thirst and hunger. And no danger was near.

But I think its not spring yet, cuz it snows times to times and its blabla 9 months, so it maybe starts one month before spring? or do it snow on spring in the tundra? I have only played in timber before ^^'

Until likely you hit two years, saying your one year and 11 months. The next month you'd be two years zero months, and mate then likely, the Alpha Female would come to you when it's time. Check her first vid Pups to get more info on this.

I'm the alpha in my pack in the tundra and me and my mate mated but do i have to stay by the den to have pups and how long dose it take for her to have pups?

one more thing since im alpha can i kick another wolf out of the pack? ever since i took the title from the old alpha he wont leave me alone! and im worried he'll take over before my pups r born.I dont want to but...ok nvm i realy want him out of the pack he's so annoying! so um can someone help me?

no you do not have to wait around at the den, the female will do that the whole month before the pups are born, which will be three months after you mated.

And no, you can't kick wolves out but if they really bug you, you can stand and sleep on a carcass and starve him to death >P

IceStar241 all i did to get Wolf working was, i downloaded Wolf and Dosbox, then i installed them in a different folder, i made a desktop icon of the dosbox, then i went into the wolf folder and clicked and dragged Wolf over to the dosbox on the desktop and it should load up, but thats for windows, if u have Vista u will need to download the Dosbox for Vista thats if there is one for vista

You can turn up the sound in your WOLF by going to its folder, clickign set-up and chossing the settign right for your computer

and see if i get it right. Start on winter. be alpha male or female. the male/female comes and want to mate after 2 months. did i get it right?

and how do i put the sound effects on? i couldnt figure it out on the setup

btw some other questions. do the pups be with the pack when they grow up? and can a wolf die of age?

On the hunting, usually you can't hunt big animals alone because you're not strong enough. I only hunt the big animals that are limping but other than that all i can kill alone is a beaver and rabbit. I thought you mate on the 9th month. I had the same problem with the sound effects. On all of the options in setup, pick one of the Sound Blasters. Yes, when the pups grow up they automatically join the pack. I don't really have an answer for the others because i want to know that too.

thanks for the help! I tried to hunt a big deer (i was desparate to become stronger so i could become alpha ^^') and i managed to kill it! but i hunted it for a while thought... and rabbits are just too fast!!

If you keep running after the rabbits, they slow down and you can catch them. But you have to have your stamina full to catch up. :P

okay search for the wolf folder u use to run the game and search through it and find setup. then fiddle with the audio options. i chose pc speakers i believe and sound effects work for me now..

For those who don't have sound working on Wolf. Do what I say.

Go to Setup in your Wolf folder.

Go into each one:

No Sound effect

Sound Source

Sound Blaster

When you go into one of them, make sure you pick

Sound Blaster for all three, after that. Close it out, restart Wolf. And you have sound, enjoy. x).

Good job with these tutorials! I am also a great "Wolf" fan, and sometimes I have trouble explaining things to people. I'm getting pretty close to raising my first litter to adulthood. Drifthowl is the wolf I used, and I lead the pack with Mike. Anyways, nice job on the tut! Kudos to you!

yes you can, like between the ages of 8-10 you die of old age. And i was once told that if you had pups you would play as one of them after you die, but that has actually never happened to me. I just died...
