  • dayum, that chicane section is srs bzns

  • No its in baltimore city maryland...

  • is baltimore this city in le france ?

  • there was no dirt in the baseball field

  • 180 yeah right the chicane ruined that.

  • I was there (I live in Baltimore County) Sat and Sun. SO much fun. My first Indy race, and man was it fun!!! The cars were fast, loud and just plain awesome to watch. Got some great pictures too. I was very pleased with how well Baltimore seemed to behave, and the TV broadcast really made the city look great. Just an all-around positive experience; for the fans, locals, and the city itself. Can't wait til next year!!!

  • GRAFICOS DE PLAYSTATION 1 KKKKKKKK

  • Great track.. except for that DAMNED CHICANE!

  • This was a great race!

  • WILL POWER!!!!!!

  • Does anyone know if this will have live coverage on tv? if so, what channel? thanks!

  • @ericeng91 Yup It will be on VS Sunday Comcast Ch. 2

  • @ericeng91 try a channel called versus, i think its on channel 2 if u have comcast

  • these turns look real nasty at many places. oh y

  • i think they should leave the track there for a extra week and let the public go dowan and fast & the furious the track.

  • somebody needs to make this track for nr2003

  • Will Power will love 5-7

  • lol the course is shaped like a gun and Baltimore is one of the most dangerous city's in the world....hmmmm

  • @SkepticalHipp0 Actually, it is not one of the most dangerous cities in the world. In the US, sure, the world? No.

  • @MrKhille You obviously havent been there. Your 1980's view of the old Baltimore stereotype just makes you look untraveled, and kinda behind the times. Now, go back to your government-sanctioned pharmaceutical-pill popping habit. Because those drugs are okay.

  • @bassplayeroceanside Worked downtown through 08 and saw the addicts dancing in/directing traffic on MLK. Second only to SF for HIV. Yeah, keep on believing. B'More needs more believers.

  • Weekend forecast: 100% chance of crashes.

  • @chrisdraper2007 Surprisingly fewer crashes than expected. The only major collision was during Sunday's morning practice. Tony Kanaan lost brakes at 170mph, and ran up over Helio Castroneves' right, rear. TK flew over Helio's car, bumped a wall, and came to a sudden stop in some tires. Helio jumped out of his car to check on Tony. Both drivers were fine, TK apologized, and both drivers actually finished the race later that day, albeit in back-up cars.

  • This is in Baltimore. Shouldn't all the passing be exclusively on the right?

  • Maybe add some Drifting like they do ion Long Beach, CA! I would be there! :)

  • I can hear the track designers on race day, "Oh shit...we forgot about that speed-bump on the main straight...."

  • @cyzum

Or chug a Natty Boh each lap.

  • Add some dirt and a joker lap, this would be perfect for rally cross.

  • what do you guys think will be the best spectator areas for people without a grandstand ticket? ground admission only here...

  • Turns 5 thru 7 are going to screw alot of drivers

  • @PjPjPaul

I know. As soon as I saw it, I was like "oh shit, somebody is guaranteed to crash there.".

  • GO PANTANO GO, he loves stop'n'go tracks..he's my favourite by far.

  • rFactor lol

  • Looking forward to the ALMS race on this, looks like it will be intense.

  • Look @ 0:20...the course is shaped like a pistol, haha.

  • And I'm glad the chicane is gone on the main straight... can't stand chicanes.

  • I was not happy after sitting in traffic this morning, but after seeing this I am very excited. Yes - we know its not F1 - but the track has lots of passing opportunities and I think will be very exciting race to watch.

The purpose of the complex T5-T7 is to get the cars to slow down before the pit entrance - I think the virtual lap took it a bit faster than what we will see, especially since there may be rain during qualifying.

  • I'm amazed at all the comments talking about problems with the track because cars might wreck. It's racing, wrecks happen!!! Plus, these are supposedly "professional drivers", if regular people can drive on the streets, these guys and girls should be able to figure it out too. Wrecks happen because drivers cross over the limit of their cars. Every track is perfectly safe, other than occasional mechanical failure, drivers always cause the wrecks, not the track layouts!

  • Baltimore? Omar comin' yo!

  • @wewd - The cheese stands alone!

  • Dear Grand Prix, Thanks for making my college cancel class. <3

  • T5 through T7 look tough. Good place to kiss the concrete. Looking forward to some good racing, especially in ALMS.

  • Indy is a joke.

  • Wth hell is this!

Why dont they include a loop like in the hot wheels car set.

    F1 is the best....

    Circuit of the Americas (Y)

  • If anything, that Turn 5-6-7 complex worries me a lot more than the hairpin. That thing's gonna take out a LOT of cars.

  • I have a feeling that tricky part is going to cause problems. even more so in alms

  • Awesome video! Looks like a great course.

  • Looks quite technical. Danica will hate it!

  • @PeatCowman She gave up on Indy, she will be exposed in Nascar next year. They weigh their cars with the driver in it.

  • nice video. good virtual reproduction of new street course.

  • Have we learned nothing from the debacle of A1GP at Durban, South Africa? Hairpin turns on street courses only lead to giant messes of cars causing long safety car periods.

  • @Senninha70 I distinctly remember the Champ Car circuit at San Jose's first turn hairpin as being FAR worse in terms of hairpins on circuits. Turn 1 at Durban at least had a small car lot's worth of runoff room. San Jose's T1 was just brutal, and considering that cars had to deal with that ridiculous trolley crossing jump right before it, they were coming in hot and unsettled.

Of course, A1GP's course in Beijing takes the cake.

  • ....and I was proven right.

  • It would be more Baltimore if the drivers had to stop in Fells and do a bar crawl between laps.

  • @cyzum Chug a beer in the pits and scarf down a 1/2 dozen Bertha's mussels, then off ya go! I think you're onto something...

  • I'm sitting off of 1!

  • I'm flying out there for this! I can't fucking wait!!

  • Man, I was gonna come here but it was sold out... :(

  • @nascarmario23 thats a good thing, for indycar at least

  • vitrual lap de l aprochaine course d indycar a baltimore ........

  • whos going, i am

  • Looks like they took out the Chicane that was suppose to be on the main strightaway

  • @franticfury the chicane will be used for the sportscars. don't know why.

  • @Dogman36 Strange that it would make more sense to use it for the IndyCars where they are the faster cars. The chicane will just hold up the LMP1's and P2's getting around the GT Traffic

  • We need this in rFactor! :D

  • that 5-6-7 turn complex is going to be a mess if you have a lot of cars running close together

  • This is handy for visualising the new circuit but a real human narrator might have been a good idea.

  • where are the pits?

  • @nickforthetitle

    Between T7 and T8 maybe?

  • @Quintinohthree Correct

  • @nickforthetitle Between 6 & 7

  • grandstand 6 (turn 1) for the weekend - come on b-more, let's put on a good show

  • Got my seats in turn 3, and staying at the Hilton located inside the track..Gonna be a friggin blast this weekend!

  • Looks fun! i want to drive it.

  • There was a chicane, right? Cool they removed it

  • @Willbrse

I don't know, I've seen at least one with a chicane on after T12 but the first maps didn't feature one as far as I remember.

  • Penske, Ganassi > the rest...

    competition fail...

  • ...way too cool!

  • Very Cool..

  • jesus this will going to be a good race!

  • Track looks dangerous, its going to be a good race!

  • @rome410augustine My home race I hope there some seats left this tracks like old school meets todays street tracks

  • I've spent a lot of time in Baltimore, I can't believe I am seeing it turned into a street circuit, I really wish I could go this year. 180mph down those streets? Wow.
