I think part of Harty's impatience, if that's what we'll call it, with Bowie was that this interview was supposed to be cancelled. Remember the date of this was also the day Spanish dictator General Franco died. The network asked Bowie if they could reschedule the interview for a later date so the Spanish government could put out a live newsfeed concerning Franco's death. Bowie denied the request and thus angered Harty and the network as a whole.

@DrWhoManiac666 So, the point is that David considered his main profession to be as a performer and a singer, not a ''musician'' per se. Of course David could also, and did, play several different instruments, but he didn't consider this as his main talent, hence David's confusion at what being ''a good musician'' or not had to do with why he was coming back to Britain to do more performing. It's funny how the two seem to keep confusing and misunderstanding each other... AWKWARD! X-)

@DrWhoManiac, not meaning to defend Harty, but what he actually said was that David had previously referred to HIMSELF as ''Not a very good musician.'' Harty evidently included singers among ''musicians'' and was therefore confused by why David wanted to continue performing if he didn't consider himself good at it. David then clarified: ''I'm a good PERFORMER. I'm a good SINGER.''

David Bowie shows how his intelligence, patience, fortitude and creativity in dealing with challenging situations. His music is amazing. I grew up listening to his music, and still love to watch him. I saw him live in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It was the best live show I have ever seen. I felt like he really likes what he does. Thank you, David, for putting yourself out there and sharing yourself!

Bowie, forever the diplomat, is all class here and it speaks volumes for the man that he never rises to Harty's inane questions.
