Was soll das denn? Warum haben die Firmen denn Probleme mit Cover Versionen? Die sollten sich doch eigentlich geehrt fühlen, daß jemand ihre Lieder singt (und verbreitet). Also ich verstehe das ganze Urheberrecht auf Youtube nicht mehr. Einige Youtuber deklarieren ihre Videos jetzt schon als "Parodie", weil Parodien von Liedern wohl laut irgendeinem amerikanischen Gesetz erlaubt ist.
Naja, ich hoffe, ihr könnt weiter machen. Den Newsletter habe ich eben abboniert.

@knulfine I agree. I think copyright owners just want 1) to be acknowledged and 2) to get paid if someone else is making money off their song. Otherwise, the right to sing a song or even video a person singing an original song is not violating copyright. Perhaps if you put a link to another site for actual sales that would satisfy BOOtube. Your songs of "If You're Going to San Francisco" and "Eight Days a Week" stayed in my head for at least 8 days maybe even weeks! You girls are my heroes !!
As a singer on youtube myself, this is a very annoying problem. Back up channels work pretty good, that's what Rin on the Rox had to do. Whenever you get an alert, put your videos on private until things get worked out, that way no one can further flag or report the video. I think it's ridiculous, unless you're doing it better than the original artist, it's actually promoting the sales of the song by drawing attention to it.
NOOOoooooo ~ Don't let them shut you down! I know this copyright stuff is so ridiculous! If you were selling the music, then maybe they'd have a point. But I really hope you stay on! I got notified that our "Tequila Sunrise" video was in violation of copyright. I started to fight it, but I didn't want to take a chance of loosing my channel. (Not that my music is anything special, but the friends I've made here ARE!) So... maybe just let them keep 2 or 3 off the channel, and keep the rest!
