  • DADT just shows how horrible a christian country is, and how childish christians in the US are.

  • AronRa looks somewhat like Lenin with long hair.

  • @raspberrymuffin

Wow, I totally see it now...and it cannot be unseen.

  • I say any Mormon who actually knows about how their religion began and is still a Mormon,is a couple levels of crazy above your average Judeo-Christian follower. And they push that bullshit on people with such intensity! Anyone else ever get the I Am Mormon promoted videos pop up all the time at the top of the video clips on the right of the screen? "I'm a Mormon, and I..." They should say,"I'm clinically retarded, and I.." It's scary that a Mormon is a serious contender for POTUS :(

  • I like the hispanic caller in the beggining, he's awesome :D

  • AronRa is bad ass.

  • 53:53

    Hilarious!

  • Too bad AronRa can't be on the show more often. He is one of the more perceptive thinkers around and always has a good response to to bogus claims of theists.

  • what documentary where they talking about.

  • @101LiquidNitrogen

Jesus Camp is a 2006 American documentary film directed by Rachel Grady and Heidi Ewing about a charismatic Christian summer camp, where children spend their summers learning and practicing their prophetic gifts and being taught that they can "take back America for Christ." According to the distributor, it "doesn't come with any prepackaged point of view" and tries to be "an honest and impartial depiction of one faction of the evangelical Christian community" (Wikipedia)

  • aron matt and traice perfect team lol

  • lol We should call them Secu-tallica.

  • is that the Flying Spaghetti Monster in the middle? i have been touched by his noodly appendage :)

  • my mormon ex-girlfriend told me i had to convert to mormonism to marry her. i was like LOL we might as well make this a hot and heavy relationship because it's not going to last forever

  • 18:00 Matt adheres to an evidentialism. Evidentialism is not itself evidenced, it is inherently paradoxical to hold this view. He asks for another method, my I suggest Zen? Zen is a way of knowing without concepts. The state of Zen is annihilation not only of will but of all effort or desire for effort, the cessation of self-consciousness, and it is in this state that provokes what one may call a "mystical experience" or "cosmic consciousness," i.e. a direct experience of "God" & ultimate truth.

  • @Hanahleia It's also a fantastical pile of bullshit. The only difference between myself and a "Zen master" is that I require mushrooms, or salvia, or LSD to induce such a state. Congratulations, you can make your own brain hallucinate. Doesn't mean there's a "cosmic consciousness."

  • @Bardlettt It's speculated that what meditation may be is the natural induction of DMT (dimethyltryptamine), while LSD or psilocybin mushrooms are related to DMT. DMT endogenously produced within the human brain. If you take something like psilocybin mushrooms, in order to elicit entry or to produce this phenomenon of "cosmic conscoiusness," you'd have to take a sufficiently high dose, with in the vicinity of what Terence McKenna advocated.

    If you're interested, suggestion:

  • @Hanahleia Even if evidentialism is a paradoxic viewpoint in terms of an infinite regress, Zen buddhism is an arbitrarily defined set of beliefs that revolve around minds with no predictive power to lend to neither our survival in general, or to the survival of our environment.. At least with evidentialism, you can try to improve current conditions.. you can do no such thing with any religious/spiritual belief without relying on evidentialism to the exact extent you wish to obtain improvements.

  • @GronTheMighty Zen buddhism isn't an arbitrarily defined set of beliefs, I think that would more accurately define something like Christianity, the goal of Zen buddhism is an experience which they call "satori," it is an experience of what they sometimes refer to as "the void." If you're interested, here's Alan Watts' attempt to go over it, I'll leave you two suggestions here:

    /watch?v=mre0Jd-qW7Y&feature=results_video&playnext=1&list=PL5E8D72FCECE672EB

  • @Hanahleia Satori and Nirvana both are states that are reached just as easily as they are accurately described. The same goes for "being one with god" and other kinds of rather meaningless claims of possible states with no further descriptives or evidentiary support.. If it holds value of any kind to attempt to achieve, it is only through evidentiary support that you can claim to have achieved it, and if that isn't true, then i ate Mount Everest's soul yesterday with my mind's third mouth!! ;)

  • @GronTheMighty I'm not sure what you're describing when you say nirvana or satori, but what I'm talking about isn't so easily described, in fact, these states are quite ineffable. They aren't easily achieved, except for maybe a handful of people, like the buddha himself, etc. They are colossal altered states of consciousness, not mere subtle feelings, like the sort that Dillahunty is well-versed in denouncing. Evidence is being developed, surely, but slowly, as in the work of Dr. Rick Strassman.

  • @Hanahleia My point was exactly what you continued to say - the states are indeed quite ineffable and undescribable, which is precisely the reason why the descriptives are worthless as anything but placeholders until we can describe and document the states to a sufficient degree.

That's why i said; I ate Mount Everest's soul yesterday with my mind's third mouth.

It means nothing, but still something profoundly important, and yet without further support, you would be rightfully sceptical :)

  • @GronTheMighty You're implying somehow that something like the Bhagavad Gita is a kind of amphigouri with your "ate Mount Everest's soul" line. I'm saying that this experience is a sort of theosophical approach to understanding "reality," and although these states are often referred to as ineffable, nevertheless there is much written about them as in the case of the Bhagavad Gita. Likewise, such interpretations as "cosmic consciousness," Terence McKenna's "Gaian Mind," "nirvana," "satori," etc.

  • There's always this notion of "eating" things that are "transubstantiated" with the divine, so on and so forth. There's the eucharist in Christianity, and there's soma in Hinduism, etc. What if these things were entheogens? What if the eucharist was a rye-infected wafer of some sort that had entheogenic properties? If that were the case, I could definitely see how all these religions would make sense.

  • Matt and AronRa are like a powerhouse of reason, I envy their intellect. Must hit the books!!

  • There is nothing MORALLY wrong with slavery or polygamy. I have the courage to be a consistent atheist, do you? I love this show, but it seems to be afraid to go beyond "good" and "evil".

  • Jesus Camp = Mental Child Molestation

  • @Lennon4ever1 They should start teaching religion later, at an older age. For example, my bible camp was last year, and I was (and still am till february) 15. Being that old, I could actually, despite what they tried to convince me of, form my own opinions and realize what bullshit it was.

Finland is mainly atheist because kids are allowed to form their own opinions about it. I'm atheist because I wasn't brainwashed as a kid.

  • @Lennon4ever1 Oh wait is Jesus Camp not what I think it is? Some guy said it's a documentary, I thought you were talking about camps that teach about religion altogether.

  • @XplosivCookie It's an extreme fundamentalist documentary about the indoctrination of children-I believe you can catch segments of it right here on youtube. If they had a camp that taught children about ALL world religions, I would not be opposed to it at all.

  • @Lennon4ever1 Nono, the bible camp was all about christianity. The place where we're taught ALL religions we call school ;)

But yeah, I totally agree with you that it's horrible to brainwash kids at such a young age, where they learn a lot of things they'll never let go.

Young Finnish kids are taught this kind of stuff as stories, and once we're old enough to actually realize what they're about, we get more into them.

  • @XplosivCookie Yes, Jesus Camp was about Christianity alright.with.a very sinister, disgusting, ignorant bitch as the head preacher! But, are you talking about some other Christian bible camp? Most of them are indoctrination camps, but this Jesus Camp was more like Hitler youth camp!! Anyway, what's really a good idea is courses that teach about all world religions (objectively), and their impact on the world. Like the Finnish kid's you mentioned..Yeah I'm in full agreement.

  • @Lennon4ever1 I am one of the Finnish kids (15, so more youth than kid but still) I mentioned :)

The camp I was talking about was just a regular Lutherian camp you take before confirmation (Yes, I'm confirmed, my whole class is but we're all atheists), it's basically a few lessons about Christianity, understanding it's ethics, and the rest of the time we're just connecting, making friends and having fun. Not at all like a Hitler camp (tho the head woman was a bit of a nazi)

  • @XplosivCookie In fact, it was a course on comparative religion I took at Brookdale Community College in N.J. in 1992 that led me slowly into atheism. That and a documentary called 'The Power Of Myth' on PBS with Joseph Campbell and Bill Moyers. Yeah, that got my brain jolted out of where it had been for years!! -No shit

  • @XplosivCookie I was a Christian when I signed up for that class in '92 also, and I remember some of the other Christians in the class got all mad and some even walked out! One of the most 'heated debate' classes I've ever been in and a real eye-opener to say the least! But you know, I ended up really enjoying it. The instructor was a brilliant prof esser on world history

  • @Lennon4ever1 I'd wish there was someone to debate, this country is so atheist, that even my religion teacher is a closet atheist (she says she's agnostic)

  • @XplosivCookie Finland rocks then! -good for you

  • We as athiests do have to understand one thing, these people thousands of years ago did not have any idea of what the cosmos was or even what bacteria was, they knew of the grounds they walked on or lands which they called "earth" or became known as Earth, and the skies which they called the "heavens", now we know better, but it is too disappointing that many folks today still do not realize that and believe that their ficticious God is the omni-whatever. So, We have to treat them as such.

  • 'Jesus Camp' was one of the saddest documentaries I've ever watched, it made me pity and despise Christians. Pity because they would have grow up with such a tormenting and brainwashing system. despise because many will put their children though the same experiences.

  • @ApostateOfTheDamned Are you American? I have a question for you.... why do you spell despise with an 's' but you spell organize with a 'z'? Is the original English language not good enough for Americans?

  • @ApostateOfTheDamned And you could tell that christianity wasn't so much the main objective, as it was a tool in brainwashing the kids politically.

  • Bible lesson for the day: Don't drink and sail.

  • I love this intro. Makes me nostalgia.

  • Am I the only one here who thinks Aron is hot?

  • When I first saw an image of AronRa next to this video, I truthfully thought he had to be a singer in some sort of heavy metal band.

  • Cheesus Crust

  • The first caller made me think of that song "Big Butter Jesus." It's hysterical.

  • Jesus find my keys, 'cause they're not in my hands, and I can't find them on my own.

  • We know what part of Jesus body the wafers don't turn into - the foreskin.

  • @Astillion Oh really, and how do you know that? or are you just assuming like every Atheist does. :P

  • Comment removed

  • @Astillion Does this body of Christ taste chewy to you?

  • Fuck creationists. I hope you burn in your hell.

  • Epic first caller is epic.

  • jesus was gay. and sexy

  • you can hear the "holy spirit" at 28:30 , concrete evidence that god exists! ;-) Lol

  • @tadhg964 yes! now your getting it!:) TEAMJESUS!

  • I'm having Schadenfreude about all the Germans crinching when he pronounces 'Schadenfreude'.

  • Is Aron Triple H's dad?

  • @ZeksVonReptar I think he looks like Anton LaVey.

  • Swag.

  • I'm jerking off on Aron charisma

  • Ah, I'm not the only one who just feels a need to get mad over Jesus Camp once in a while. I have it too.

  • Leo(caller at 50 min) is such a dick.

  • If there was a Jesus Pizza I would do it, especially if it had Ham and Pineapple topping.

  • what documentary are they talking about. (around 33.00)

  • @mroldschoolhiphop1 Jesus Camp is the title.

  • @mroldschoolhiphop1 its a great documentary called mine Uts on God's chin. check it out. its a grower!

  • Matt and Aron look like half of a metal band.

  • @xczechr

I kept thinking the entire show that Aron could probably sub in for Paul Kuhr of Novembers Doom and no one would notice.

  • @xczechr Are they brothers, or clones?

  • Test it on something small, i has idea

Make a cup of coffee and say/pray whateva "o lord do not let this burn me"

then stick ya finger in it.

  • I hate atheists calling in and saying "I agree with everything you say, lets talk about our agreements for the whole episode!"

  • I can't take my eyes of Aron's eyebrows!

  • I must say Matt and Aron work well together, they give each other space to comment and come in and underscore a point well for each other

  • @arklowrockz - Usually Matt tends to dominate his co-host. nice to see that change

  • Atheists, for the love of God (hehe, see what I did there?) stop calling in. We all want to hear the hosts debunk Christians arguments, not call in and agree with everything.

  • AronRa really does carry the wisdom, gravitas and charisma of a deity you'd see in a classic oil painting. XD I really love that.

  • Lol. I had heard of some horrifying word of mouth about Jesus Camp before I saw it.

And it was bad? But.. I think a little over-exaggerated. I condone nothing, but it didn't get under my skin.

  • TAE should really change that theme song - it's fucking irritating!!!!

  • I'd expect the "mechanism" is a form of pain avoidance.

  • Communion wafers with queso? That's Cheesus.

  • @Brenda2OOO Ese es Quesús!!!!!!!

  • Looks like they are laughing today on how the world didn't end.

  • Mainstream Mormons still believe in and practice a form of polygamy. A man can still be sealed to more than one woman. Apostle Russell M. Nelson is an example. He is sealed to both his deceased and current wife. It is also still taught that everyone will be polygamists in the celestial kingdom. This is somewhat an example of reinterpreting scripture (it's still god's plan, he just changed the requirements or something) but it's more of an example of deceit and obfuscation.

  • It is so upsetting, I wanted to see aronra demolish christians and their wack beliefs but atheist only called this episode. Drat

  • Oh shit Aronra is back to kick some more ass.

  • When someone says that a sculpure of christ is not acceptable is one thing, giving someone the death penalty for naming a teddybear muhammed is quit another. So christian crying about something is something laughable, but murdering people over drawings of muhammed, the burning of a quran or wanting to murder someone for naming a teddybear muhammed is completely insane. I know what I think is worse =P Know your real enemy.

  • Whats the name of the song at the beginning of this? :P pretty catchy Love the vids btw, got me hooked watching them here ;o

  • Having Aron on is such a pleasure. You guys should have Aron on as a "Skype guest" some time; so he doesn't have to drive to Austin, and we can see him on the show more than once a year.

  • Aron seriously looks like fucking Satan.

  • I would still die for the right (In America) of some faithead to practice his batshit religion.

    THATS tolerance!

  • ATHEISTS DON'T HAVE NO SONGS!!!

  • @theUSER101 Double negative. So atheists have songs. Yay.

  • @theUSER101 Did you hear the intro?

  • Where will ANY Pastor be if he didn't believe??? They would have to get a REAL job!

  • Aron Ra is a monster! He makes Matt look like a dwarf.

  • I truly believe that if these two had enough practice at working together, they could deprogram ANY relusion victim (at least the ones where it is actually POSSIBLE to get through to them).

  • Like Aronra, I was a Christian and even then, deep down I did not believe in hell. However, I still believed in heaven and God and the Bible, and on the surface I belived in a hell, but nothing like what it actually is supposed to be according to Christian dogma; I just didn't realize this distinction until well after I became an atheist. I realized even as a Christian I was more moral than God b/c I would not let myself believe there was a place that bad. I was an atheist then anddidnt knowit

  • 666 atheists like this? This is proof that atheists are satan!

-Well, it´s the best proof so far.

    :p

  • Comment removed

  • You know what? If you eat the body of jesus you won't die when the sun comes down! It's a miracle!

  • How about "Jesus, take the Wiimote"? If Jesus is god and all-powerful, surely he can own anybody at Smash Brothers.

  • @bersaba

Not at the university I am at !! It depends where you look :p. Saying that I was a christian when I found them. Great minds think alike !! Seriously though I would say out of the 500 people i know from uni about 350 are Non-religious, about 100 are strictly religious, I was part of a christian society though. About 50 are non-church going christians.

P.S Its the flip side of great minds think alike that I would say.

  • @Goron1988

My comment about universities being skewed is that, generally speaking, students in universities tend to be critical thinkers, and critical thinkers tend to not be religious. Of course that's not a rule, there are many scientists and engineers and doctors that have faith (including 2 personal favourites, Ken Miller and Robert Winston), but typically universities have a higher atheist population compared to society.

  • @bersaba ROFL please excuse me but to say university students are critical thinkers... what planet you living on? How many drunken violent raping pillages have university students been on, how many date rapes you think take place in after parties?

Why is at 18 you can vote and fight and die for your country but you need to be 21 to drink? Because drunken university students was so much of a problem they had to raise the limit to 21 in the hopes to stem the tide of critical thinking students.

  • @Theism411

That's the USA, not Australia. Sure we have parties and shit, but here we can drink at 18, so it's not a "OMG big deal". We don't have 'college' (or at least, no-where to the extent). Most students either still live at home, or live in a small share house with other students.

When I started uni (at 19), first year had a few sterotypical heavy drinking fridays and saturdays, but by second year, with work and uni, it quickly died off. Most students are actually pretty normal.

  • @bersaba I don't have any thing against universities at all I was just upset how some try to equivicate seperate things and tie it into nonesense.

Universities = Intelligent people = True (well mostly true)

Intelligent people = Critical thinkers = WRONG!

Critical thinkers my ass just because you may have a high IQ does not mean you apply critical thinking in all things fairly. People will think their way through any thing and justify any thing if they so please.

  • @Theism411 I agree about your last part. Smart people believe done stuff. That's why education and learning how to apply knowledge i.e. critical thinking is so important as well as eliminating fears to think for yourself i.e. threats of hell and rejection. I'm not sure about the Universities = Intelligent = True. I don't know if your referring to atheists or liberals or whatever, but I don't see a lot of atheists thinking that.

  • christian rock sucks, and so does atheist rock. that intro music is crap. i hate it

  • @surfriderx Yeah the music. What to do? When I was an Xian I was into Petra and a couple other Xian bands. Now, as an atheist I keep hoping there'll be some good atheist music. But all attempts I've heard have failed, with the exception of satirical songs. So musicians should just write what's in them and don't write toward an agenda.

  • I was molested by Jesus at Jesus Camp.

  • What's an "Aron-Ra"?

  • @M3t4lManiac A name.

  • AronRa and Matt,

    You guys are badass

  • 2 of my heroes!

  • @GreatGungHolio: Or Aron should shave his head! Bald pride!! :)

  • I think ChocolateJesusDick will be my new screen name.

  • Does Aron-Ra have a brush sitting in front of him? No wonder his beastly main looks so good all the time!

  • Aron should donate some hair to Matt.

  • @GreatGungHolio

maybe Aron somewhat dislikes his hair growth and wishes Matt would give him some baldness solution.. kinda like Teen Wolf

  • @GreatGungHolio HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • @GreatGungHolio

    nah ,its evolution.

Matt is just getting smarter then you apes.

  • @GreatGungHolio Poor matt :P

  • 8:44 epic quastion XD ok i poused these shit at 50 %...now sience is understanding...undrstanding your oun findings and it dose NOT comend u to belive it,weach cristiniti or belive in god dose...belive wat u want...but church makes a rule to belive in it...so...would u lisent to reasaon?...no?THEN DONT INSOLT ME WHEN U Came to my f*** dor and preach me to the inwisible GOD WECH YOU DONT HAWE NO PROOF OF!AND DONT GIVEME FAITH PROOF!...SHOU ME GOD...AND THEN ,ONLY THE I WILL DOUTH MYSELF..!.

  • 8:44 epic quastion XD

  • aronra looks like the devil

  • @japonizieify lol, a sexy one

  • you could test Jesus take the wheel with remote control cars.. my guess is that 10 times out of 10 it'll go in a straight line..

  • great show!!

  • I'm reliably informed that May 21st is just Judgement day, and that The End of The World As We Know It isn't until October 21st.

My better half and I have decided to get married in Sin City, Nevada on May 21st, after we saw the familyradio Judgment Day billboard. We were going to get married anyhow, but we hadn't decided on a date. See you in Vegas.

  • @geffel Haha, awesome. And congrats.

  • It's odd, the whole 'atheist' thing reminds me a little of 'gay'. Being gay is 'acceptable' but the default assumption is you're heterosexual. A lot of people might not be against gays per say, but might say something like "oh and Fred, he's gay, but he's cool", without realising the bias.

My understanding of America is atheism is a bit like that "He's an atheist, but he's ok". Here in Australia, esp in my age group, being an atheist is more like being hetero, it's just assumed.

  • @bersaba

Same in the UK, unless things have changed recently. It's assumed you're either an atheist or just plain oblivious of god/gods and if someone says they're a believer it usually is a bit of a conversation killer.

  • @bersaba I'd like to ask, how old are you? I am noticing more often that young people are escaping away from religion, and I live in canada which has a similar religious system as america. Growing up I'd know maybe 1/5 friends who believed in a god and 1/50 who were extreme belivers (preaching and what not.) I think that our society is just becoming more uniformed and we understand that we need to think about facts and not just opinions.

  • @ixcaliber

I'm 30. When I was at university, out of about the 30 or so friends and aquaintances, 4 were religious (though being a university, the results may be scewed).

For what it's worth I'm about 4th or 5th generation atheist on my mother's side (5th was more deist then atheist). My father was a catholic born - non denominational christian (lost catholicism). I'd tend to agree for the most part that as education (specifically critical thinking) increases, religion decreases.

  • @bersaba I agree with you fully.

  • @ixcaliber Are you in BC as well? Here it's 30% religious, which is awesome. And same for me, I stopped believing around the time I was 12, about 3 years ago. I had a liver disease and extreme restless leg syndrome, which turned out to be early type 1 diabetes. So I started praying and absolutely nothing happened, except it getting worse.

  • @Gabumon54321 Funny thing is, if you told a christain your story they would say "Oh no, of course god answered, but his answer was no"

  • @ixcaliber Hah, probably. Science helped me 10000000x more by giving me a transplant a few months ago. ;D

  • 2nd caller starts at 17:00

  • GET Hitchens on the show :)

  • the greatness of canabalism

  • I'm deeply disappointed with this episode. I was looking forward for AronRa's appearance on the show for weeks! But turns out to be a boring show.

    ATHEISTS, STOP CALLING THE SHOW!

Fucking irony. Atheists ruining an atheist show.

  • @isamu135 Looool!

  • Comment removed

  • I clicked "Like" after less than a minute :)

  • If you eat the body of christ a few hours later you ll shit jesus!!!!

  • @frank3976

and your shit will become Jesus again... enthalpy in action.

So the laws of thermodynamics... says that a system heads towards randomness... this is false, surely... otherwise why would scattered particles be brought together again to form an organism.

  • @frank3976 brilliant, but u forgot urinaiting lol ...

  • @frank3976

"If you eat the body of christ a few hours later you ll shit jesus!!!!"

    Holy crap!!

  • @frank3976 Speak with some awe and respect. That's Holy shit, you know.

  • ATHEISTS! Stop fucking calling into the show. They don't want to hear you and I don't want to hear you either and I believe I speak for most the other fans of this show when I say that. Just stop. You are ruining my entertainment and most of the people that watch this show. Hey Matt I'm a big fan! lets talk for the next 20 minutes about shit that we agree on and not bring anything new to the table whatsoever and also you can fuck my girlfriend if you want to.

  • What is with the Åron-Ra spelling? the pronunciation of Å is nothing like the way Aron says the A in his name.

  • chocolate jesus penis.... I call dibs!

  • Man. It's soooo sweet watching these atheist Leviathons together as a team. It's awesome!

Seriously. If poor little VFX called in right now, they'd have ripped him a new hole in his head. Two heads are better than one I always say.

  • @Domzdream maybe VFX was TRYING to call but too many ass kissing atheists were clogging up the phone lines.

  • 15:51 As irrational as this may sound on my part but when someone tells me I'm going to burn in hell I view it as the same thing as you telling me you're going to get someone to kick my ass. I view it as a physical threat and get offensive about it.

  • lol i got 80 thumbs for my comment and its not even top 3.... bullshit! haha

  • @666alilthrowedoff666 wow, get over it

  • @manforever15 you sound like a loony, open your mind and be free and learn that you don't have a soul

  • Well if you eat Jesus, you get to both poop and flush jesus.

And if you're in the USA, you're probably used to having jesus up your ass.

  • I enjoy the atheist experience; however, this has to be one of the most boring shows that i have seen. Why do people have to call up just to have themselves heard? How boring. There needs to be better call screening. I mean who calls with no agenda just to talk to AronRa. Who I am now starting to find as long-winded.
