  • Wow, I'm 18 years old and I completely remeber watching this. It also popped into my mind today and I wasn't quite sure if I made it up in some kind of nightmare or it was real. Glad I found it! haha

  • Thanks for uploading but all the cutting removed Mr. Pieces from the entire episode :( There were a lot of effect cuts (Spider web disolve wad a good one - Spider bleed out...) and jokes ("bird bones "tweet x3)" to to make this a 3 parter rather than 4 but still it's better than not having it at all... All I have is a VHS tape I can't play anymore :) This was by far too much for the time... I too couldn't watch PB for a while due to fear after this one!

  • Unnecessary editing on the part of the encoder.

  • All the gangstas out there got their ideas off Punky's wardrobe!

  • why is it so choppy? Was it like this on the original airing..?

  • That dog had some serious balls.

  • 4:12 OH MY FUCKING GOD

  • Love the "Goonies" influence.

  • I really thought I dreamed this when I was younger and it was just one of those partial dreams that stick with you! LOL I just found proof that this episode really did exist! LOLOLOLOL

  • Holy maccanoli! Waitasecond. I remember watching this when it aired and a weird milky gush came from the spiders abdomen, like Punky hit a gallon of buttermilk...

Such a weird twist for Punky.

  • @BlurryBear Why didn't she just call on her flying bear Glomer to kick that monster's ass!

  • When I was a kid, I thought they shouldn't have made this episode so scary. Now that I'm an adult, I realize that the episode wasn't scary at all, and what they actually did wrong is they shouldn't have named a little girl Cherry. Especially not Cherry Johnson.

  • @illuminate737 ... Thats her real name like in real life. Cheri... not spelled Cherry.

  • Besides the cheesy fireworks this episode stuck in back of my mind 4 over 25 yrs. Thanks 2 youtube we can relive our childhood memories.

  • OMG one of my FAV episodes! Thankyou:)

  • good

  • This scared the living SHIT out of me when I was little! Funny how terrifying so much kid stuff was back in the 80's.

  • This scared the shit out of me. But why was i afraid of a moving pile of glitter?

  • I feel like a kid again after watching that. I was raised on horror movies so this didn't phase me as a child but I could see how it would effect most kids. One part i didn't see....when they actually showed Princess Moon

  • Somebody borrowed the Goonies keyboard.....

  • this music and scene kinda remind me of goonies....

  • I wonder if this is where the producers of STAR TREK: THE NEXT GNERATION got the idea for Armus in "Skin of Evil"?

  • Punky defeats a final fantasy boss. Punky power!

  • 2:10 - talk about scare the living shit out kids! O_O

  • OhwhatagooseIam. Best monster name ever.

  • When I was a kid, this was the only bit of Punky Brewster I ever actually saw (I thought it was a TV movie or something). I thought it was scary as hell. Plus, ever since I saw it, my mental image of evil ghost spirit was always a pair of glowing red eyes with a glittering shadowy body (which I thought was freaking cool).

When I got older and managed to catch a few reruns while channel flipping, I always went, "Hey, where's the red eyed shadow ghost? This was a sitcom?!"

  • Traumatizing!! lol I was so scared that I became convinced this cave was in the woods next to my house, hahaha.. kids have such hyperactive imaginations..wish my mind processed things the same way as an adult...

  • 4:17 Yep, there goes my 4rh grade.

  • some of this is scary but some of this is stupid!

but this scared me so so so bad when i was a kid!!!

  • no wonder why i am so fucked up as an adult!

  • I have this video loaded up and I'm trying to work up the balls to watch it, I remember this being the most horrifying thing I'd ever seen in my life when I was 10, worse than Silence of the Lambs or Robocop or Freddy Kruger or anything.

  • hahaha depois de mil anos vc responde?vc foi u mtroxa isso sim,se ra novao,pq assistiu entao?sem mais nem vo tresponde rmais, tenho mais do que fazer aqui.rsrs

  • in this episode: shit just got real

  • Holy shit!!!!! 4:14, that part always freaked me out!

  • I remember I used to shut my eyes when the kids came back all freaky looking. This is the 1st time I've actually watched it!

  • @luigijules me too! ahahaha

  • scariest shit freaken ever on tv for me as a kid i would never watch this after seeing it for the first time.when it was this episode as a repeat i was like hell no time to watch something else lol

  • wasn't this just a Goonies rip off?

  • I'm pretty sure when this scared me shitless twenty some odd years ago, it didn't have this cheery music.

  • I have seen the Goonies many times and it's one of my faves but the music from :09-:16 is not from the Goonies. Not even close.

Yeah-I'm nitpicky - accept it and move on!

  • @happy7117 Yes, but it is Goonie-esk.

  • The Goonies is one of my favourite movies and it definitely does have a Goonies sound to it for sure.

  • pqp eu morria de medo da cara do alan na parede! não sou o único.. hahah

  • Eu tbm me cagava dessa porra!!! hahaaha

  • I thought this was the "Fall Cartoon line-up special" I know I watched it before and they would just plug alot of the new cartoons coming out that season. But it was very looong ago

  • I remember this episode, and was fucking scared as hell I know but , damn it why when I was 7 years old I had nightmares only beacuse of the face in the wall.

Fortunately I notice I 'm not the only one.

  • :09 to :16 was ripped right out of the Goonies!

  • Man, I'm amazed because I thought I was the only one terrified by that creepy face on the wall... I remember that this scene scared me for a long long time, I had nightmares with the face and nowadays, I remember this scene with a strange feeling... Why man? Lol, I mean, it's just a face in the wall, why this is so scary??

Thank you guys for sharing this horror with me!!

    Lol.

  • I'm a 30 yr. old dude...and out of nowhere this episode popped into my mind and I had to look it up. I remember me and my sister watching this episode and i was totally freaked out, I was only about 6 or 7 at the time, but i remember thinking back then ...how can this be scary, this is only Punky Brewster. I have to admit though, it was a creepy to me back in the day

  • @thornINyourSIDE79

I did the exact same thing man, I'm 31. :)

  • I was another that thought I dreamed this...weird hu?

  • ultra mega hyper double twisted LOL at 4:26

    michael jackson?

  • i remember watching this as a kid, scared the crap outta me. the scariest was alans face on the wall....lol

    thanks for posting

  • I watched a episode of lost in space called the mask it scared me I was 9 yrs old

  • Okay, I have two things to say:

One, that was scarier than hell...

Two, what the fuck? This is a fucking weird episode, and I don't mean the good kind of weird...

  • For decades this episode has haunted my dreams. Alan's face on the wall tormented me into adult life. Can't believe I found this video and this mildly disturbed support group!

  • i thought this episode was a dream.

  • talk about scary

  • Yay! It wasn't just me that was freaked out by this episode. When I think of the 80's I think of this episode and laugh at the birth of my insanity.

  • I had nightmares as a child watching this.

  • In retrospect, this was something of a dry run for the later "IT" telefilm.

  • Seriously, that is fucking scary....

  • OMG, they would never let kids watch this shit now.... this next generation is going to be nothing but little wussies....

  • yeah I totally had to find this episode just because I remember the creepy face on the wall!!!!!! ahhh

man were the graphics bad back then..

  • I remember this! Totally frightening as a kid, lemme tell you.

  • Wow, that face in the rock really fucked up 3rd grade for me.

  • Peter Jackson SO ripped this off for Lord of the Rings!!!

  • Comment removed

  • GODDAMN THE 80'S WERE FUCKED UP

  • hmm, the evil spirit is certainly... sparkly.

  • 2:19 is the reason I'm afraid of spiders to this day.

    I love Punky though.

  • So... in the end.... the cave demon was just feeling emo. Hippy love saves the day I guess?!?!

  • I cannot believe I found this!! The one thing I think of when I hear about Punky Brewster is the giant spider with red eyes!!! FREAKED me the hell out!!

  • I will never forget watching this as a child. Scared the SHIT outta me. I still can't understand why they chose to do such a scary episode on a kids' TV show.

  • this episode scared the fuck outta me in kindergarden almost 25 years ago.

alan's face in wall was terrifying!

still haunts me to this day.

i remember catching part one and feeling like i had to see the next episode cuz its where all the kids DIE!

    And then they DO!

    AAAAA!

Very Land of the Lost-like evil at the end, similar to the Zarn (ie: glittery suit covered in croma-key colors)

  • Whoa @4:15! What kid wouldn't have been traumatized by that?! Freaky stuff for a kidcom.

  • This episode haunted me as a child. I was 3, maybe 4 the first time I saw it and if it was ever on in syndication after that, I would change the channel... too many bad memories, haha. Although I remember the spider playing a bigger role than it actually did, I guess. Alan coming out of the wall was the freakiest part though. It's hilarious to watch it now.

  • It's so funny and fun to watch this 23 yrs later as an adult. The effects and make up are SO bad...especially Margueax. It was freaky as hell, though back then, and I remember wondering how they could put this in a kids show. I wonder now if this contributed to my fear of spiders. That's the only thing in this episode that I still find freaky now! I also am curious why the video skips ahead. Wasn't there a scene where Princess Moon appears and tells Punky how to beat the Evil Spirit?

  • I know and to think that the cave demon was just an emo bitch. It would be kinda funny if Punky sang the song 'Everytime I Turn Around' to banish the cave demon. ;-)

  • y does it skip bits that rewins it

  • youtube only has a ten minute slot for videos

    thats why it skips

  • Ok, I have to say this episode scared me so much when I was a kid that I turned it off and I actually never saw how it ended. So this is awesome!

  • I'm glad there's a whole generation of late 20-somethings that were freaked out by that giant spider... it's still creepy.

  • i'd rather my kids watch this than hannah montana.

  • dude! I totally freaking remember this! I used to think it was a nightmare! crazy! I can see myself running out of the room when they showed Alan became a demon! ...but now that I'm an adult, its not that bad....Alan looks like something out of the "Demons" movie and Cherie looks like a Halloween decoration...still to a five year old ---TERROR!!!

  • OMG I thought I had dreamed this up too! This was the episode that scared the crap out of me when I was a kid! I was 4 or 5 and I remember telling my mom that she needed to complain to the network. I don't remember if she did or not, but I do remember being scared to death over this.

  • this scared the C R A P outta me when i was little. =(

  • Wow! On a whim, I decided to search for "Punky Brewster cave episode" after recalling a distant childhood memory. I only saw the first episode, and I always wondered what happened in part two. Like others here, this episode haunted me for years, and I eventually began to wonder if I dreamed it up, since no one else had seen it. What a flashback to 1985 when I was six! Thanks for posting this.

  • Why don't I remember the chopped up guy everyone talks about? I wanna know who he is.:(

  • this episode bored me im sorry

but it could b ive been watchin

all the episodes on youtube all day

but it was just reallyreally boring!!!!

  • it boring to you because you are older now. if you saw this episode when it first atired.

i was about 4 it scared the crap outta me

  • Ok, Nostalgia... I appreciate you posting this and all (and this is one of the best 80s tv show episodes of all-time)... but why is everything ALL CHOPPED UP?

It's still creepy watching it after 20 years (which speaks to the brilliance of the writers). The atmosphere is dark and dense, and the score is chilling. But my biggest complaint is that I couldn't see the scene with the dismembered guy embedded into the cave wall. That's the main reason I even searched for this episode!!

  • i can probably upload that video with mr pieces but it will take a while

  • Why is Punky using the ax in that scene? She forget to use her "punky power" to wipe out the evil sprit instead of the upcoming TV show of "Highlander". And I do not use the word "love" in killing the evil sprit. Weird special effcts in one paricular scene.

  • 4:15 to 4:37 absolutely horrified me when I was a kid. Those images of Alan, Cherie & Margo have been engraved in my memory for at least 20 years. Eek!

  • Queennothing1980:

    Yeah, I know! That's freaky!

  • Thank you very much for posting this video. I've been wanting to watch it since I first saw it as a child one afternoon in my livingroom in Venezuela. Two images were stuck in my mind, first, Brandon as a skeleton, second, the guy in pieces. What happened with that scene?! If you have it, please post it!

(Thank you karlman23 for letting me know that I didn't made it up!)

  • I can DISTINCTLY remember the faces popping out of the wall scaring the crap out of me as a kid. Even now that's somewhat freaky for PUNKY BREWSTER!

  • WOW...I thought I was the only one. That scene traumatized me!

  • OMG! I am glad I didn't see this episode as a child, or I think I would have been arachnophobic!

  • wow! ok, not as weird as i remember it. for some reason, my siblings and i were all under the impression that everyone died.

  • My fav episode as a kid! Rock on! (And now I know where I got the term "Holy Macanoli" lol)

  • Why do the scenes jump around?

  • I think it's due to the commercial breaks.

  • Why do the scenes jump around?

  • Holy crap! I didn't remember any of this. I don't remember being scared by this but I probably was.

  • Thank you for this what a great childhood memory, and such a powerful point! Punky Power all the way

  • Dude why is Punky having a bad acid tripp? seriously, i dont remember being scared but i did remember that this was the coolest episode ever!

  • They never showed Mr. Pieces!!!

  • JESUS CHRIST!!!!! LMAO!!! The head popping out of the wall scared the hell out of me! If I saw that as a kid, I'd have horrible nightmares for a couple weeks! But I still love it!

  • The head popping out of the wall scared the shit out of me as a kid. Scared to the point that my mom was going to write a letter to the broadcasting company, I swear!

  • OMG! Poor thing! LOL!

  • That's the weird thing -- I last saw this 22 years ago (I looked it up; I was 4) yet I still remember the head in the wall, the spider and the Margo skeleton.

  • This episode actually kind of scared me when I was little, lol!!!

  • Wow, the intro music to this is the same as Goonies. Wow. Now that I think of this, it's totally ripping off The Goonies.

Laugh track? In a demonic cave? Really?

  • You're right. It really seems to be based on sthing.

  • Seriously, I remember watching this when I was 9 with my cousin who was 10 and my sister who was 7, and none of us got that scared! I wonder why you guys think NBC overdid it.

  • i think it's mostly because a bunch of us were between 3 and 6 when we saw it. I was 4 when I saw it, I'm 27 now. I remember distinctly that this episode contributed to my fear of caves and the dark.

  • Are you serious? I was only 4 when I saw this as well?! Wow..we have vivid memories even at that age?!

  • Groovy, we're the same age! That giant spider scared the crap out of me.

  • watching it now, years later

that spider still kind of creeps me out. I hate spiders! always have and always will

thats why I NEVER look in dark spaces

and YAY to Brandon for attacking that spider!!

goodness, I feel like I didi when I was a toddler. **folds into fetal position shaking**

  • OMG I still remember how I feel to this day when I first saw this...SOOOO DISTURBED!!! I was 6 years old when I saw this that Sunday evening. I had nightmares about people in my own life turning into nightmarish horrors!! Like someone else said, WAY too scary for little kids!!

  • OMG!! This scared the shit outta me when I was a kid! So unlike Punky Brewster. Alan's face on the wall was straight out of hell. So much for family prime time Sundays!!

  • Doesnt anyone else find that from 4:00 - 4:30 it would be pure torture for kids. Face on the wall... forget about it!

  • Defiantly. To scary for young kids

  • wow it was a story i nthe end lol.i didnt pick up on that haha.such a great episode!

  • hey theres a laugh track

  • Very Land of the Lost-like

  • I have always wondered if that Evil Spirit was an actor in some kind of glittery costume...

But the red eyes...I do not know how that was done.

  • this never scared me as a kid. it should have, but i was watching things like Ghostbusters so maybe in comparison, this wasn't as bad? lol

  • When I was a kid I used to have horrible recurrent nightmares. I dreamt that I was trapped in a cave, rocks were falling on me, and creatures were attacking me. My mother told me that it all started after I watched an episode of Punky Brewster when I was about 4 years old. To this day I still have this dream on occasion. This is the first time I've watched this since that first time when I was little. It's amazing to find that others' have also experienced negative effects of this episode.

  • this scarred the shit out of me

  • Margeaux was pretty creepy looking too!

  • Always wondered why the mere sight of a big hairy spider is enough to send chills up my spine. But in recollection, as a child seeing a huge spider with a shriek and fangs that jumps out of nowhere to kill people pretty much sealed the deal for a life long hatred of those things. Yay for childhood trauma.

  • THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH for restoring this episode to life. my only critique is that I feel you should have left the whole sequence when punky fought the spider, cause it really was spellbinding and amasing. and a welcomed change from the standard episodes. course they were great too

  • I'm with ricoouellette. This episode messed me up as a kid. Allen's face, stuck in the wall is why I went searching for it tonight. I hadn't seen it since I was 6 years old, but it was burned into my brain. That part is still as disturbing as I remembered it. I think was scarred. Perhaps I can come to terms with it now.

  • oh my god!! same here!! i remember as a kid this episode stuck out because the kids face in the wall. really scared me as a child. thats why i went searching for it too!!

  • I remember this as well as a kid. It really creeped me out. Especially the face on the wall.

  • I used to watch this show as a kid all the time! I remember THIS episode. It scared the CRAP out of me. All I could see when I shut my eyes was that kid's face sticking out of the wall. I didn't sleep for a week, LOL. Now I'm almost 30 and I still remember this show. Thanks for posting!

  • it always seems like me and catpaws55423 are some of the first people to comment lol.

  • I'm the first one to comment again! Thanks again for posting the videos. Please keep them coming. You always do an excellent job. Bye.
