  • this music wasnt made for soldiers. it was made for the common man who gets up every day, pays his taxes. Soldiers and militaries have their own music. This was for the every day man.

  • @TheSweetAndSourTeam - You know, this would be a great national anthem!

  • I think the other people do not work, just you.

  • we're playing this song in band right now. Makes my day every time we play it. No other place in the world like the land of the red, white, and blue.

  • Aaron Copland wanted to call it Fanfare for America Punching Germans in the Sack, but there wasn't enough room on the record label.

  • This is way better than the one for the common man. Soldiers are cool and awesome.

  • Chuckles why do you keep going to different forums and starting fights with people that you dissagree with? This is like the 3rd one I've seen you on. If Ray is a loser that you don't want to talk to, be a big man and stop posting. If you're the peace dove Jehova's Witness you say you are and not some sanctimonious little prick who thinks God made up for giving him a small dick by giving him the right to judge others (annonymously through online forums, of course) you'd get off youtube yourself.

  • @phantsmogo are you stalking me? For your information, Ray is a nasty little man (or woman) who spends all day answering comments in youtube. You on the other hand, made a comment about the common man and the theme to this music. You seem to think that you are allowed to make comments in youtube and not be challenged? Sorry, this is what a democratic society is about and I just stick up for myself. And I don't use swear words because it is beneath me, unlike some people. Please refrain

  • @phantsmogo If you have seen me three times in youtube, you must have too much time on your hands. Filthy comments and nasty little minds don't impress me at all. Please refrain from swearing in this forum otherwise you will end up being ignored. It seems to me you like picking fights with people who stick up for themselves. Stick to watching the videos and not reading the comments if you don't want to get all riled up as you have just done and causing embarassment to yourself.

  • @phantsmogo You said the magic words-- "Jehovah's witness" This is not a Godly religious sect. They spread FALSE doctrine.

Check it out for yourself! Don't be fooled.

  • @divawriter Very true, "Jehovah's witness" are lost. May God have mercy and wake them up !

  • @divawriter Of course they spread false doctrine. That's the only kind there is.

  • dikeiken glokes en streiner

  • Ray, you need to get a job.

  • @Chuckles123thefish Pot, meet kettle.

  • @raystinsky Any pot or kettle that hangs with you Ray must surely have a complex. Get off the computer and find a pot, Ray.

  • @Chuckles123thefish Hippies and their obsession with pot...

  • @Chuckles123thefish I got a job. Youtube now pays me to comment on videos.

  • ive been to normandy i saw utah, omaha, sword, gold, juno and cean my grampah strung those beaches he got shot i saw his grave he was a genral man i miss u

  • Endless posting on youtube, will not kill anyone. I guess that is a price that peacebunnies like myself will have to endure. Dont be surprised if I actually know you and you one day receive a gift in the form of a box of laxatives disguised as yummy chocolates. You will probably wonder if someone has sabotaged your bowels, when you can't sit down for one minute without getting the "squirts". Beware of gift bearing strangers~!

  • @Chuckles123thefish That was a really clunky paragraph. Lots of unnecessary punctuation.

  • @raystinsky I don't care. If endless puntuation stops your warmongering (@#$%^&) ....so be it.

  • @Chuckles123thefish If your grammar were better, you'd perhaps come to understand the difference between warmongers and soldiers.

  • @raystinsky You need to get off the computer Ray. Seriously! You will die on it.

  • "Soldiers are awesome. They kick ass." Aaron "Warmonger" Copland.

  • @raystinsky Aaron wrote this piece for the common man, not warmongers. Warmongers are a blight on humanity. They are probably short bald fat people (women included) who spend too much time playing with guns, planning wars, sellng their war tools to other warmongers and generally ruining our gorgeous planet. Soldiers need to get a real job and stop killing each other. Warmongers need to leap off a cliff and spare us any more of their awful wars. You need therapy!!!!

  • @Chuckles123thefish "Those who ‘abjure’ violence can only do so because others are committing violence on their behalf" Orwell.

  • @raystinsky Ray, idle minds post idle, inane comments. Check out the employment comments Ray, or turn the computer off. Either way, it will keep you from playing on the internet all day. Seriously, you really should get some serious exercise and move away from the computer screen.

  • @Chuckles123thefish I'm flattered my comments are so great that you think I must devote significant time to them. They actually take mere moments, leaving me plenty of time for serious exercises.

  • @raystinsky Serious exercises? Finger press ups? Eye twirls? Seriously get a job Ray.

  • @Chuckles123thefish Have you ever done Crossfit eye twirls?

  • @raystinsky get a job

  • @Chuckles123thefish na na na na nanananana

  • @raystinsky find a job. preferably now.

  • @Chuckles123thefish Maybe I teach you English and history.

  • @raystinsky just get a job

  • there are no "buts" and "therefores' when it comes to warmongering. It is the "innocent" common man, woman and child who suffers at the hands of you haters. Go and find something useful to do with yourself. Rebuild villages shattered by bombs. Get all the kalishokovs and guns and warmonger tools out of the hands of child soldiers and give them an education, clean water, and homes that their families can live in - just like your family enjoys, no doubt. QUIT YOUR WARMONGERING SILLY PERSON.

  • @Chuckles123thefish Or I could post endlessly on a youtube video in order to combat warmongers and the like. That will show them.

  • Comment removed

  • Yay for the common man, woman and child. For too long, we have suffered at the ands of warmongers, and the like and finally there is a song for us to celebrate.

  • @Chuckles123thefish Don't forget the "buts" and "therefores" of warmongers and the like.

  • mostly normandy beaches 600,000 men died on each beach omaha was the worst

  • So, there was only americans who died during WW2?

Or is it just those who should be honored and remembered?

    I do not think so! All that died in WW2 was real people, with real families;

And some of the germans just got to choose between "fight or die!" Most of them died even if they chose to fight....

But as before said: History is written by the victor...

  • @daBabyBig Yes, that is exactly what everyone is saying.

  • At last, a fanfare for the rest of us.

  • @Chuckles123thefish On to the Feats of Strength!

  • If he were honoring soldiers, I am sure he would have been only too happy to name the composition "Fanfare for soldiers" (see my comment below), but he chose not to. I am glad that he did not. I am glad that someone wrote music for the common man...woman...child...elderly person...infirm person...etc. There are enough compositions for soldiers, royalty, famous people, famous events, famous everything! At last a composition that celebrates the billions who live make up the human family.

  • @Chuckles123thefish Those soldiers were common men. Our current crop of common men is of a much lower standard.

  • @raystinsky Again, if you haven't read the story behind why the composer did not name this song "Fanfare for the Common Soldier" but called it "Fanfare for the Common Man" - he did not write it for soldiers, military people, people who took other peoples lives in war, people who help other people take other people's lives in war, politicians, warmongers or the like. He wrote it for the ordinary common man. That is what the title of the musical piece is called and was written for. Not soldiers

  • @Chuckles123thefish You missed my point. Aaron Copland told me personally that he loved soldiers, warmongers and the like. Then he emptied a clip into his favorite paper target: A depiction of a dirty-footed hippie.

  • @raystinsky If Aaron Copeland told you that, then so be it. But that is your word only. He had every opportunity to change the name of the musical piece, if he loved all of these warmongers, soldiers, etc. He didn't. If he is sooooooo much happy to love warmongers, etc, then his actions don't prove it as such. In fact, did you ever have a conversation with the man yourself, even? Let's hear him refuting the name of his musical piece publicly. Until then, it is your word and thats about it

  • @Chuckles123thefish Aaron was also not fond of wordy fruitcakes.

  • @raystinsky I guess he was bored to tears with reading your wordy fruitcakey comments too. Well, we both think alike about you, matey. Yay for the common man.

  • @Chuckles123thefish This is Aaron Copland. I'm borrowing Ray's computer to tell you that I think soldiers are awesome and although I wished to honor the common man, he is correct in pointing out that soldiers are common men. I have to go, now because I'm purchasing a new machine gun.

  • @raystinsky You are kinda sad and unintelligent for a start. Aaron copeland wrote this song for the common man, not for warmongering puffs like you. The title of the song remains the same, after all these years. Yay for the common man. Yay for us. Booo for those who think otherwise.

  • @Chuckles123thefish I'm not sad at all. I'm very happy. I think I'll go for a walk. I'll probably take my Warmongers with me. I have two purebred English Warmongers. I named them Aaron and Copland, after the composer of the greatest song to WWII ever written. Why do you think I'm a Start, and how intelligent is the typical Start? Which country are the Starts from?

  • @raystinsky You go for that walk and clear the cobwebs out of your jaded little mind. Warmongers all like going for walks. Into other people's countries and killing citizen's from those countries. And then they have the gaul to think they are important and need to have great musical pieces written about them. Sorry, this song is for who it is said it is to be written for - the common man, like me and all other haters of war. Take that walk, and START doing things that create harmoney not war

  • @Chuckles123thefish I don't have any Gauls. I do have some Anglos, though.

  • @raystinsky I suggest you find a nice little psychiatrist that can rinse out your brains and make you a nice loving human being. I am sure your parents will pay for your treatment and happily roll you out like a new coat, when you come back from the brink of the abyss (where most warmongers all like teetering) and turn over a new leaf. Have you ever considered gardening? Vegetable gardening. It will feed you, keep you occupied, and you can't kill anyone. The rest of us will be overjoyed!!!

  • @Chuckles123thefish My parents are dead. They were killed by vegetables grown in a backyard garden.

  • @raystinsky Ray find a job

  • Copland's Fanfare was but one of eighteen commissioned by Eugene Goosens, then conductor of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, as a curtain-raiser at CSO concerts between 1942 and 1944. Copland's remains the most famous to date. Please do not equate this music with current world events; it belongs to a different time and a different place.

  • @jslasher1 This song was not written for soldiers. Maybe the music sounds as if it should have been, but as the name of the song suggests, it was written for the Common Man. Is it not true that in almost every war in the last and this century, the majority of casualties and deaths have been common people...ordinary men, women and children who have no protection from the ghastly weapons of war. This is not a soldiers song. The common man is often overlooked by fomentors of war.

  • @Chuckles123thefish First off, the fanfare is NOT a song; it is an instrumental composition. You are wrong in your comment that it was not written for soldiers. Read Aaron Copland's comments on how he arrived at the title before you lecture me, a professional musician, on the title. Basta!

  • @jslasher1 Apparently, the conductor by the name of Goosens requested that Copeland name this composition, "Fanfare for Soldiers, or sailors or airmen....". Copeland himself said "I am all for honoring the common man at tax time." He said that in reference to the fact that the composition would be aired at income tax time in the US. You might be a professional musician, but you have not seen that comment, obviously! He was not a warmonger. Nor a fomentor of it. He respected the common man.

  • its common man, not common soldier

  • yeah.

    and it's too pro american.

    soooreeeeh.

But america was only there half the war.....

    What about britain,canada,new zealand,australia,poland,russia,czekoslovakia etc.?

  • @Arc9er

I do plenty of research and play a WWII flight sim nicknamed "Forgotten Battles" since it centralizes around the contribution of many "Forgotten contributors" to WWII, such as Austarlia nd mianly the Soviet Union. Little is written in the west about the 4,000+ Pe-2 Peshkas and some 30,000 IL-2 Sturmoviks that flew in support of the red army all along the eastern front.

These "forgotten" countries turned the tide of the war, The United States won it.

  • @Blasphemisaurusaoe3

    The united states won it...

    The united states WON it...

    Dude, WTF?

Google, just google. World war 2. Just freaking google it. Next person says the US won the war is getting trolled.
