  • @thatsmynamebud1 He wasn't powershifting and explain your logic why would powershifting BREAK the turbo, the turbo is the least important thing to worry about when powershifting. I'd be worried about mis shifting or damaging the clutch or trans internals.

  • @thatsmynamebud1 There is nothing wrong with "powershifting" that car its hard on the clutch but that's it. you actually want to some times because you wont lose boost have have to wait for it to build back up. I suggest you get anti-lag or a wot bock to make it easier on it

  • thats funny coming from a kid with an rsx that runs 13.9 my brothers srt beat that with a intake + catback and didn't even rev up just went when the light turned green, the bad thing is srt4's axles suck cuz it snapped the next run when he rev'ed it up and dropped the clutch got new and better ones now and a new 50trim with a few other parts, rsx's are a joke even my beater car smokes you and the things a boat(gtp smaller s/c pulley and supporting mod's)

  • That whistle you hear in the video is the FACTORY BOOST CONTROLLER.

    Its the air being released from the stock controller.

    Get a AGP wastegate, Need wings cutout/downpipe and a diablosport Predator and you will make right near 300whp and 300+wtq.

    Stock intercooler will flow till around 350 then it a restriction. same with intake.

  • it had an AGP WGA on this vid with bar and plate intercooler and full 3inch MPX turboback exhaust and other stuff. this was untuned and could have been almost at 300 whp had it been tuned

  • the needswings bolts up really easy unclamp and un-bolt the stock one.

    and the cut-out bolts up the same way.

    I never had problems doing them on my friends cars.

    I run a straight 3" turbo back. i dont bother with cut-outs.

  • @antmansohcvtec The sound you hear is the turbo being inefficient. These cars are on PCM/ WGA boost control from the factory. No such thing as a factory boost controller on an SRT 4. If you were going to get a DSP, theres no reason to have a WGA, as you would most likely want to be on PCM boost anyway.

    One more thing, 300whp on a stock turbo, non nitrous car is rare but either way your torque numbers would be closer to 340 if you did manage to squeeze 300whp out of a stocker

  • @antmansohcvtec Please PLEASE take a picture of a "Factory Boost Controller" on an SRT. Ive taken ALL of the factory boost lines out and there was nothing. Taken the factory turbo/turbofold/wastegate actuator out and didnt see one. The SRT uses an internal wastegate to adjust boost with the PCM controlling the vac to the WGA, so they are WGA/PCM CONTROLLED BOOST. No such thing as a "Factory boost controller"

    Sit down and shut the fuck up noob.

But let me get something correct here: YOU say that sound is the "factory boost controller" YOU say that the factory boost controller is the solenoid. So are you telling me that the little piece of plastic with 3 nipples is making that sound! Get real man! Its the freaking turbo making that sound. Why dont 50t srts on PCM boost have the same sound?

  • Nice Shifting! Also, I had that exact same whistle and it turned out to be a severe leak at my intake gasket. Spray some carb cleaner around intake while it's running and watch for engine "stumble". This will show where the leak is! Good luck.

  • Yup. I have that high pitched whistle and it's a rupture in my intercooler piping worth about 3-5 pounds. I'm getting a hardpipe kit in the mail in the next 2-3 days.

  • Thanks!!! shifter is about 68% reduction from stock, but, i just don't see the point of bouncing it off the rev limiter besides the cool sound.

  • you can feather...letting it bounce 2-3 times will prevent you from bogging so bad into second gear....it wont hurt the car...when u while spinning you wanna match your mph with rpm that way you dont bog

  • if this turbo is stock can it handle 19psi. If not maybe that why its making that noise. isn't that shit only rated to 14psi or so or is that just the wastegate or actuator.

  • stock can handle more then 19. they can handle up to 25 or more. ported stockers can handle 32. I'm running 17 and mine spools louder than that!

  • the stock turbo can do about 22psi and the stock waistgate actuator with stock computer will let you have 15 psi and the stage 1 computer will do like 17 psi

  • Its weird, it happens on every srt-4. Im thinking its something with the computer as weird as that seems.
