"Batman's rich history allows him to be interpreted in a multitude of ways. To be sure, this is a lighter incarnation, but it's certainly no less valid and true to the character's roots than the tortured avenger crying out for mommy and daddy." ....
I love that Bat-Mite is just the most giant rip off in history. Even that character himself is pretty much the green dood from the Flintstones/Jetsons.
@tarrker Actually, he bears far more resemblence to Mister Mxyzptlk, a superman villan who debut in 1944. Almost twenty years before Flinstones ever aired.
He also appears in Superman: The animated series if you wanna see him in action. I think youll see Kazoo isent as original as you think.
@LordManda2 didn't know he went that far, I thought The Great Kazoo came first. All this time I thought Mxyzplik was inspired from the Great Kazoo..lol
@tarrker Actually, he is the Batman version of the imp who bothered Superman, though Batmite is an obsessed fan of Batman while Superman's imp is an annoying pest who wants to beat the Man of Steel.
what makes me sad is that the dress up that fat person standing next to joker in the actual harley quinn out fit but when it comes to harley quinn in this series she looks black and white and from the 50s /sigh
@Worgenninja Did you somehow miss the episode from the '90s Batman cartoon when Joker became rich, had Harley Quinn try-outs, and he rejects that same fat guy in the Harley Quinn suit?
Besides, that Joker and Harley are caricatures of Paul Dini and Bruce Timm.
Further unnecessarily explaining the joke...Paul Dini and Bruce Timm are the creators of the previous animated batman series(es)-The DCAU. Their creator cameo doubles as something of a mythology gag!
I'll give this show some credit BatMite looks and sounds a lot better then he did in the 70s cartoon and they at least used his look from the silver age comic books he was in. I'll also give them credit for improving the BatMite Character he's annoying yet at the same time fun to watch, 50s and 70s BatMite was just an annoying pain in the neck
@doctorwhom1 Superman has been seen in the series, at least twice. With his back shown in the Titans episode, and as Clark Kent at Batman's wedding. He is partially mentioned (as well as Mxyzptlk) as the friend of Metropolis in this episode.
what I love about this episode (besides what has been said) is that the rest of the episode is a parody of an old Daffy duck cartoon,in which he hits his head while reading comics and dreams of being chased by ridiculous but scary supervillains
If you want a defintian of this show it's the Batman of the 1940s, which was a mix of the dark serious Batman of the 30s and the more lighthearted and zany style that became previlent in the 50s and 60s i.e. Brave and the Bold is show us the Batman our grandparents grew up with
This "justification" made me rage a little. Episodes like "Gameover for Owlman" is enough to prove me that this Batman new series is actually good. This episode was like a big middle finger for anybody else.
@ruy1981 bat mite's little speech at the comic con is actually defending this show for those who think to too silly. This episode is a funny parody of batman, but does it from the perspective from us comic fans. I can see how some people could take this episode the wrong way.
I agree about "fans" being total headaches sometimes . but I personally just liked the style of The Batman and I find the new version too "cartoonish" though it's a pretty fun show to watch .
the guy in the harley outfit at 0:53 looks like the same guy from the episode 'joker millions' don't beileve me? check it out! type J oker M illlions (2/2)
The Ep with Kevin Conroy as the batman of the alien planet is awesome. BUT what is going to be EPIC is the ep where they have: Kevin Conroy, Mark Hamill AND ADAM WEST as guest voices...That is so much friggin awesome in one episode!
the nerd they were making fun has point during 90's and early 2000's they would push envelope of what you could do on kids shows and not just batman other show they could make adult enough to enjoy it years later but tame enough for children.
