nuclear power makes sense for powerplants and very large crafts. for things like cars, which crash all the time, radioactive debris would be terrible. but as for aircraft carriers, submarines, and some space applications where you need an ample amount of power for long periods of time, nuclear power is a godsend. When I was a kid 50 years ago, my dad worked for the Atomic Energy Commission. One secret project he worked on was the Savanna, the world's first nuclear-powered ocean liner. So I wouldn't rule out nuclear-powered aircraft. The nuclear reactor is way too valuable as a power source to allow humanity to ignore it. It was dangerous half a century ago, but who knows what new technologies the thousands of scientists who've been working with hundreds of billions of tax dollars have come up with?
