The thing this video underscores about Larry Legend that most modern "fans" that don't get how the NBA used to be played (properly) is... look at how few of these clips are BIRD shooting. Half of them are him going all out to get the ball to the open man, because he understood the goal of the game is to get baskets. Doesn't matter who has them. Yea, he was an epic clutch shooter, but his goal was to WIN. Not put up 60 points a night.

It is not happening today. The Celtics played a run and gun style of play. Todays type of play would only have made them better. Because their competition was the slow down of most of the NBA , or the LA Lakers of Showtime fastbreak teams. The Celtics beat them all.
