I kind of agree with Paul: it's a litlle bit ... how shall I put it? ...strange? Very nice though and beautifully played. It's hard, I can see that. I liked the ending chords a lot. I will go and see if Kottke has this here...
UPDATE! I have listened 3 times now (I'm a slow typer) and I must say it wins in the long run! OK, I'll give you 5 stars!! :-)
I first heard this tune more than 25 years ago and I've loved it ever since. You should listen to Leo Kottke play it. Needless to say, it sounds better in his hands. There is a group of Kottke fans called the "Tab Pigs" that have transcribed this and many other of his tunes. I believe their version is closer to the Kottke arrangement. I think you'd do a great job with this. It needs more artistic expression than I can offer.
Thanks, Shawn. Kottke definitely went in a different direction when he wrote this. I like that it stays away from the lower fret postions ... like OJO. That'll be the next Kottke tune I butcher in public.
Thanks, Damian. I think there is only one other video of this piece on Youtube. Seemed like a safe choice to avoid comparisons. It seems like few Kottke-files like this tune, but it's one of my favorites.
Yes, I should record some stuff now...its been a while. As a matter of fact, the *guitarbook* had all my attention the last few months. Alas, Nice Feeling is a blast to play. I owe you at least that one, and I will.
WOW, great job, Mr. Kottke does a lot in alt tunings but your say in your discrption that this is "beyond my ability to play well" but apparently, sir, you are mistaken, you played it VERY WELL. Thanks for posting it.
Beautiful!

Great piece. I really enjoyed it. It had a Debussy feel to it, I think.

Thanks. I think it's one Leo's under-appreciated pieces. But it 's one of my favorites. Kind of hard to play in standard tuning, though.

Mike, that's lovely exploitation of the high register, you achieve the most wonderful haunting sound. Bravo.

It's only spooky when I play it. It's lovely when Leo Kottke plays it.
