  • How do you get pet ducks, because it's something I've always wanted to do?

Do you need to own some kind of license?

  • Hi well depending ware you live probably not i bought my first two ducks from a local bird farm one male and female and from the eggs she laid i incubated them i ate the rest {very nice} free home grown food.Duck as you see in the vid is the best part the rest you dont see is the trashed lawn and all the poo they produce and believe me they can poo.so if you are thinking about raising some ducks they will need water lots of it and alot of TLC you only get out what you put in. :)

  • how can people eat meat when animals are so loving.

  • @330MillionGods Hi i can but not duck. I worked in a slaughter house for over 3 years when i was 18. Not a pretty sight i can assure you but the animals were bread for meat they had a very healthy life {roaming the pastures} eating grass. When i worked there the cows had an idea what was going on same as the lambs. But the pigs new they are very switched on. They would not suffer it was over in seconds no pain nothing. And it has been going on for millions of years. :(

  • You look like a suspect cause you have to walk so slow for them haha. I have to do the same with my lizard.

  • So cute.

  • LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this video..... made my day.

  • @sidesaddle420 hehehe Thank you,Thanks for the nice comments :)

  • this is so adorable . i have alwys wanted a duck ( even though i am terrified of birds ) .. i would love to see this and yes i would be one of the people that would stop to take a picture . fair cheered me up to see this .

  • Thank you for the nice comments i sure do love my ducks.

You should not be scared of birds i have some one i know that was scared of birds and i introduced him to a duck (in its run of course) and every time he came over for a coffee he would have a looksee and in the end he stroked it and he eventuly manged to pick Em up. Em is a big softy and liked to be picked up anyway so now he is not so scred of them anymore. (still dont own a bird) but none the less he is not scared now. :)

  • That is pretty much the cutest thing ever :D

  • @corinnajune Thank you for the nice comments :)

  • I took my duck to the local store and I had a mother holding her daughter chasing after me to see my Welsh Harlequin, as I was about to leave. But a whole bus stop to look at your ducks! LOL! Wow!

  • @flaminggazelle HAHA yes it is fun as you just dont see ducks following humans every day do you :) Thanks for the nice comments.

  • Hi, I have fish in my pond should I sell them before getting ducks? Also where can a get a decent duck house from? Do they keep your lawn short? Do you eat their eggs?

    :)

  • @milzeh Hi No to selling your fish if ducks were on a natural pond there would be fish all around :)

If you have watched my other vids i have a "man cave" and i have a duck house attatched on the end of the workshop. So if you go visit a poultry farm that specializes in ducks and chicken they will have good ones there but be warned they wont be cheap. If you are good with your hands perhaps make one yourself like i did :). Yes my lawn is missing they ate it. Yes i eat my eggs as well :)

  • I loved your video! I had a duck when I was young and loved to walk outside with it. After I saw your video, I started to miss the feeling again. Stay well :)

  • @Maeve1515 Thank you for the nice comments :)

Yes i do enjoy a walk with the little ones normaly a 10 minute walk but with ducks about an hour and a bit with people stopping me to take pictures and ask questions. Great fun :)

  • how much does a duck cost, and where would you but them...I would love to have a pet duck :-D

  • @devildriver340 Hi Well here in the uk they go for about £25 each i took 3 to 5 months reading up on the looking after of ducks as they are very diffrent from say looking after a dog.If i tried to explain all that i have learned over the years it would take me months :) So if you are serious about owning a duck google it and read up.What you see in my vids is the best parts-the rewards for all your looking after them. What you dont see is the poop the smell if you dont keep them clean.ect:)

    BFG1

  • @devildriver Also the fun you get out of ducks far outstrips what you put in and if like me i breed a few throughout the year this pays for the food they eat and keeps the hobby very cheap. I have always loved birds and fish. And they allways reward me with there trust and the fun as i said is brill. so read up go visit a bird farm ask questions smell the runs if your scared to handle poop it my not be for you.Because believe me they poop all the time good for the garden though

    Regards BFG1

  • I can imagine those ducks are a pretty good conversation starter :) Better than a puppy.

  • @larslabanlaban Ha it sure is if i walk the rout alone its 15 minutes with my ducks over an hour :)

  • Ai que legal os seus patos não fogem os meus fugiram.

  • @amominhababyalive

Im sorry i dont understand im British and know no other language :)

Translate for me and i will sure reply :)

    Steve {BFG1}

  • This is freakin adorable. LOVE your videos!

  • @kari00ws6 HEHE thanks for the nice comments :)

  • Aww... They are so cute and it's nice to see how well they are cared for. It's too bad the pathway are all asphalt on the walk. Must be tough on their little feet. Love your videos. Keep up the great work!

  • @meatsco

Hi thanks for the nice comments :) Yes it is a little tough on there feet but they do get hardened up to it.

I keep a close eye on their walking and if i see them starting to lag behind i pick them up and they have a free ride they loved the walks and so did i to be honest :)

  • What a lovely area.

  • @woody5551 Thank you

It is avery nice area im so lucky to live here all the neighbours are lovley and we all get on very well. At xmas we all go out for a christmas meal and end up back at someones house for a night cap. :)

  • i used to have ducks and i used to bring them around the block ... a few of them left i have no idea where they went and my neighbors dog at the last one :(

  • This is sooo cute!!!! I love how they follow you around the block LOL :D

  • @MsUnique912 Thanks for the nice comment it is fun and that main road has seen 2 small crashes as drivers have crashed in backs of other cars and one bus :).

It does turn some heads and i love doing it so does the babies :)

  • Thats fantastic! I got 2 calls ducks who have just had 4 babies. they have such character. x

  • @penelious

Well done but if mum is raising them they will follow her not you its called human imprinting. When they hatch {incubator} the first thing they see becaums there mum 3 days after hatching that part of the brain switches off and what ever they been around is set in their mind till they grow up. :)

  • lookin ass nigga

  • What kind of ducks are they? jumbo pekins?

  • @DeasonGurl26

Call Ducks about 4 to 6 weeks old :)

  • Thats so cute! wish my ducks would the same thing and follow me. Some of my runner ducks follow me like that but when they see there other friends they stop following me!

  • Amazing .

    You are a Good Man

  • @powerman5000ca

Na not realy i just love ducks and they seem to like me a bit )

Thanks for the nice comment :)

  • Their waddle is too cute!

  • @njloca

It is also if you watch the youngest to the oldest in a row so the smallest wont get left behind :)

  • Very cute Stevie!

  • @SladeyPRD

You like that vis then cock ? :)

  • I love this video

  • @ilovemakingmovie

Hi thank you for the nice comment.

When i have the next batch of babies ready ill do a HD version as i picked up a cheap HD cam from Lidle and the quality is so much better. :)

  • @baldfatgit1

Wow man that is so awesome. I really love little ducklings, I watch them at a pond near me. I understand these are probably domesticated.

  • @IslamIstheWayforMe

Yes they are incubated by me, then raised by me, then walked by me hehehe. So domesticated compleatly :)

  • Do they still follow once they're mature?

  • @RSSJ91 Yes but not so much because as they get older they become more aware of there surroundings. And rather wander off and do there own thing but if i called them they would come to me after a while. The last lot of babies were still following me 3 months and nearly fully matured. They have moved on now and the new owners did not keep it up and they dont follow anyone now.

  • @STIFFLERspole Yes very much so you have about 3 days to imprint on him /her after that that part of the brain switches off. As long as u handle the bird and let it know you are its mum it will remember that humans {you} will do no harm and it will be comfortable around you. And when it sees you for the first time say if you are at work it will be very happy to see you and come to you. Good luck matey :) remember you only get out what you put in but the rewards are just out of this world.

  • Yes it sure is you need to pick it up gently and talk to it and stroke because u only have about 3 days before that part of his brain switches off. then when he grows up and gets older as long as you keep handling him/her it will never forget you and even with the other ducks around it it will still come to you. Feels good when they do that. remember you only get out what you put in and you will have a better pet for it. :)

  • How old were quacker and jack when you got them? because i'm not sure if my ducks are imprinted they only folow me when i have food? and they don't follow me out of my house but they folow me into my house?? But they follow me when i'm somewhere they don't know but in the backyard they only let me pat them. Are my ducks imprinted? they are 3 1/2 weeks old now can i get them still to follow me around?

  • HI Zams If they are following you with food that's a good sign but imprinted with humans my not have happened as it only happens within 3 days of hatching. Dont get to bothered about it because. they are very young and it takes time for them to get used to you. I purchased my Quacker and Jack when they were 5 months old they were raised on a farm {no imprint} at all but now after a year they will follow me round the garden and are happy to see me.

  • You see it takes time to gain there trust so what ever you put in will hopefully get out patience is what you need. I will demonstrate this on my next but one vid with my budgie i have hes nuts about me :) Your ducks are so cute and above all else they will let you smooth them. Make sure you handle them (gently) so as they get older they will remember you as not a threat. Use the food to teach them to come to you it will help no end. To sum up with one word ...patience...

    Nice vid as well.

  • @zams1006 Kool Ohh i have a budgie aswell i tamed it and it loves me exept one died recently :(

  • @zams1006 Aww sorry to hear that mine is about 8 years old nearly all blue hes mad as a hatter :)

  • @zams1006 Hello Zams how are the ducks doing then ??? havnt heard from you for a while :)

  • @baldfatgit1 Hey mate my ducks are going great, a new vid comming soon. turns out they are both males and fight over their pool.. and personal space :(

  • Hey How do you get the ducks to folow you? they are soo tame and cute!

  • @zams1006 Hi They follow me because i raised them from an egg and then when they hatched they hatched in my hand so they are human imprinted {they think im there mum :)}

    Thanks for the nice comments

  • I love this. I could not do this where we live. Too many other critters. In fact, we had to build an aviary over and around our call ducks because I got sick of dealing with the carnage from red tail hawks, fox, raccoons, etc. Call ducks are the best. Ours just started laying. YUM!

  • Well we are very lucky ware we live in the UK {North of Bristol} We have a local fox living close by but he is well fed by everyone and is very tame he does not bother us i have 2 neighbors with ferrets one has escaped and ended up inside the run sent mum and dad nuts but no damage was done and we are still good mates. And just a few cats that dont bother with them at all. .

  • As they are getting older now and only 2 not 4 { i sold 2 of them} they still go for a walk every Sunday but not along the main road as they have a habit of wandering off to explore and i dont want to risk them getting run over so i keep to the back streets around my neighborhood. Thanks for the nice comments. More vids coming soon

  • Woooo ducks xD i personally no those ducks cuz i am his daughter best friend :D x

  • Those ducks are soo cool, but how do u get them to follow u?

  • @SamthePIE1 They follow me because i incubated them in my home made incubator for 28 days.(I have there mum and dad) then i hatched them in my hand. This makes them human imprinted not duck imprinted so hence they think i am there mum. This then makes them very good pets as they are not frightened of humans. Hope you enjoyed the vid.
