  • Yea, that cootons real pretty, but where is the pics of the effects of prevailing meth problem associated with the cotton of west texas (amonia ,cold washing) dont glamorise west texas its a shit hole that will kill those that are influenced in a moment , get real man...

  • buddy holley's hometown!

    i like it :-)

  • RAIDER POWER ! GUNS UP !

  • Proud Red Raider Alumnus. There ain't no place like the Hub City!

  • !!!GUNS UP!!! I am a Texas Tech Red Raider fan for liiife!

  • someday I'm gonna move from Germany to Lubbock :)

  • So where was it that the Lubbock Christian School guy blasted his granddaughter to death because he thought she was a rabbit? Texans, and especially Christian Republican Texans, should just not be allowed to touch guns. Why would Jesus make such a thing happen ? Perhaps because Texas absolutely sucks shit ? Well, goodbye. I will await the next Texas Christian hunting accident story.

  • do a lot of hispanics or blacks live there?

  • @helipilot94 just hispanics mostly but thats all of texas really

  • @45thundertrain yeah, well it makes sense

  • what's the name of this song and who's the author? I love it.

  • looks like a beautiful place. I'll be passing by Lubbock in August and would love to go sightseeing in the couple hours I have to spare. Any recommendations?

  • is it cheap or expensive to livin in Lubbock ??

  • @BarrioAztecaLOCO as far as my Mom sees it to be, its pretty cheap.(:

  • A few more: 6. seems at least 90% people don't know whats the turn signal lights function in their vehicles for 7. So so so many people don't tip and/or try to scam businesses for free shit (especially free food))) 8. connections, connections, even pay cell phone bills in local Verizon Store, cut in line in front 20 other people which 40 fuckin eyes starrin at them. 9. if Tech doesn't fuck u over on ur way in, more likely they will make it up 4 u before ur graduation.

    I hate Lubbock.

  • @singledroprain You don't like it, then stay the hell out and go latch on to your mom's tit.

  • @Maskedrider1092 calm down! U sound really like someone live here 4 ur entire life. we don't want to move just b/c some stupid reasons like we hate here so we can throw everything out to get a new start. My IQ much higher than that or at least than u:) I will stop here b/c I think it is a waste of time even to talk to someone who can only make others more stupid. Enjoy ur life here and DRIVE SAFE!!!!!!!!

  • @singledroprain "My IQ much higher than that or at least than u." lol! I have no response to that bit of genius. And I am perhaps I am defensive because it is where I was born and is my home.

  • @Maskedrider1092 SO????? I am talking about Lubbock, not where you were born and I am telling the truth so someone of course gonna get pissed off b/c people always wanna show off the good, hide the bad, especially in Lubbock!!! How bad Lubbock is, u know better than I do unless u r 1 of them & can't see anything wrong from 1st pl. I don't wanna argue w/ u just b/c Lubbock is ur hometown! Just be neutral, be fair here or u don't have to talk b/c the way u talk not helping Lubbock.

  • There r a few things I don't get about this place:1.so many slow drivers but lots of car accidents everyday 2. People would speed up 10 miles above the speed limit to pass or cut off another car on the right lane just to make right turn about 1 or 2 blocks away when they can change 2 right lane directly3.Almost everyone is religious but followed by high STD rate (google it)4.U can sell b*tt plug but U will be arrested 4 sellin Vib. 5. So many people dont like foreigners&Mexicans r most of them

  • after 20 years, i'm so glad i left that place

  • Lubbock texas is more city and farm then what u showed.. awesome pics tho!

  • I thought i was gonna hate lubbock but now i freakiin miss itttttttttttttttt 9 more dayss!!

  • I think it's funny how emotional some of the people are who make comments here. Anyway, there is no perfect place here in the U.S. But I will say the further away from Chairman Obama, the better. And the heart and soul of Lubbock is a universe away from Obama, so that one fact erases most all the negatives about Lubbock. What Lubbock does need to do, however, is to clean up its drug mentality. Meth use in Lubbock is directly tied to the STD rate, and both are dangerously high.

  • sounds like your someone who thinks you know alot about everythin. First criticizin Obama...then Lubbock.

  • @Lubbockborn11 You didn't take time to read what I said, did you? I wasn't being critical of Lubbock. I was being critical of the idiot meth users, drug traffickers and try to get the people who perpetuate Lubbock's STD problem educated so that Lubbock's crime rate will come back down to at least the state average. I was being critical of Obama -- he's no good and nearly any idiot knows that.

  • Thanks asshole for portraying my hometown as one of the most countries t cities than the shit kicker town you live in. Why not show some really good pictures of the big city instead of making it look like post or snyder. There is over 222000 people living there you know, not just ugly fences. but loved the RED RAIDers field

  • Lubbock, TX ...one of the best kept secret, one of the best cities in the USA

  • I was born and raised in Lubbock. Haven't lived there since 1983, however. It's a (much) better place to live than San Antonio, Los Angeles, Oak Harbor (WA) and Guam, but not as good a place to live as Chicago -- all places I've lived. Bottom line tho is as I get older, I become more and more ready to move back there when I'm ready to really retire.

I remember Lubbock from back in the 60s and 70s. I was in 1st grade when JFK was shot. It's changed a lot over the years.

  • I miss Lubbock so much! I was born and raised there until my family moved when I was in 6th grade. I miss the snowy winters and the nice parks. Buddy Holly park is amazing during a nice summer day.

  • @killerthrillermjfan

Snowy winters? I'd like to know what part of Lubbock you lived in. It barely snows here anymore. Maybe once or twice a year. But I still like it- a great place to learn to drive. And the prairie dogs at Buddy Holly park are fun to watch :D.

  • Is there a Lubbockite living who remembers the 1967 murder of Tech Janitor Sarah Morgan by a student named Benjamin Locke? I can't find anything about this murder.

  • @Cahulawassee

Wow. I was in the third grade when that happened. I remember it, and

actually found something on the Lubbock Avalanche Journal archives

    about it (I think).

  • Lubbock is not as bad as everyone makes it out to be! It is such a great growing city and I love it

  • F*** LUBBOCK

  • @gorrilapro F*** YOU!!

  • @gorrilapro fu** YOU

  • F*** LUBBOCK

  • lubbock is nothing compared to 12schov videos

  • Thank you!

We miss Lubbock so much. Moved to TN in 1972, after the May 11, 1970 tornados, but visit there quit a bit.

My Uncle is a professor of Agriculture at Tech.

    Go RAIDERS! :D

  • I'm a proud Lubbockite. Born and raised in sweet, sweet Lubbock Texas! = D

  • if you mother fucers dont like my home town then get off here and stop hating

  • @jdn3297 thats right !

  • lubbock is not even like this i live there its ok

  • @kirshawn34 its really not its not this country its more city than anything

  • @leon23andrew i live there i no about it ok

  • been there in 1990 working in Texas Instruments: I )

  • Wreck Em' Tech!

  • I have never been to Lubbock, but looking on the map, a single interstate freeway leads out of the town, which is I-27. It seems as if this place is remote and isolated and therefore really boring if not many people travel through here.

  • @Justin theTranny. Lubbock has the nicest people, best food, best music, and prettiest girls. You don't know until you go. The same highway that takes you out also brings you in. Big cities have nothing on the character and charm of Lubbock.

  • @careypeak23 Never said I knew.

  • @JustinDTran That is true, you never did say that. I was born there and now live in Miami. I love em both! Cheers mate!!

  • @careypeak23 You got that right! :D

Now in TN -- but home is where the heart is & I'm Texan thru & thru!

Lubbock is my hometown -- 1957-1972

    \:D/

  • @careypeak23 WELL SAID BROTHER! I live in Dallas but lubbock is my preffered place to be

  • FUCK THIS QUEER SONG

  • What's the name of this song. Having a hard time finding it.

  • my hometown is the shit dont care what any one says. missing it so much.

  • lubbock Texas is the shit

  • sssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuutttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt uuuuuuuuuuuuuuppppppppppppppppppppppppppppp

  • lubbuck looks a right shithole!

  • I'm half Texan and half Tennessean, halfbreed hillbilly cowboy picker and renegade drifter but Lubbock will always be the heart of my songs and the smokey mts the soul....been hangin' with Earl Henry aka Earl "Snake Richards" Sinks...member of the crickets. best steak house in the world is out where the af base used to be...thanks for sharin' this

  • denniseggers...who are you?, earl sinks is my great uncle...rita my great aunt

  • nnnnnn

  • natalie maines comes from lubbock does,nt she.i wish i could visit there one day instead of sabden in the uk

  • Name of the song?

Lubbock is the shit. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else.

  • Oh Lubbock. I love it here so nice. been raining alot lately but other than that it's pretty nice here.

  • who ever said lubbock sucks are losers

  • I learned to fly in Lubbock years ago and loved it , I'm Gong back this year to relax this time , Loved the place and the people. The musical heritage is superb too, like my hometown Liverpool. The Beatles loved Buddy so it's sort of a spiritual; second home

  • I love Lubbock too..Im from Chile..

  • I lived in Lubbock for 2 years in the 80's and it was the most fun!!!!...........never a dull moment. Fast and Cool, thePlanet, Casa Ole, Bash Riprocks, Benaglios, Homeplate Diner, Spanky's, Copper Caboose, Uncommon Graphics, the Strip, and a ton of fun, friendly people!!!

  • Man alot of nice pics. But where are the REAL picks of lubbock with all the Thugs, gangbangers, felons, drunk/High college and regular people driving all over the place. Hell even the police drive drunk(look it up). Where are the picks of how it always floods when it rains there. Or the fact that its so damn dusty. Or that fact that its one of the syphilis capitals of the USA

  • have u ever been in lubbock? or are u just speculating wat u hear?

i live here and i don't get drunk, i'm not a felon i'm not a gangbanger or anything

i am LAUREN HEAR ME ROAR!

  • I lived in Lubbock for 3 years and it was the best 3 years of my life!!! It may be a small town but everyone is nice and if people do get drunk......you can't blame it on the town

  • I literally LOLED at your comment.... try living in Lubbock before you start speculating what you only hear. ... It never rains here.

  • It actually rains here some of the time but not all of the time you must have only lived here for 2 years or so becuase last year it didn't rain much but it does actually rain frequently

  • Comment removed

  • haha i love lubbock no matter what.

its gay but its my hometown so what can ya say?

  • lubbock sucks it have too many STD's and HORRIBLE DRIVERS!!!!!!!

  • yea they do have horrible drivers and one in every three people have an std in lubbock. but whatever. it could be worse.

  • lmao...it really does, and jobs suck out here.

  • Lubbock was a very boring place to live, I grew up in Yellow House Canyon were the city bus did not run, and we did not get city water until the late 70s.But, you got to love those Red Raiders as well as those Lady Red Raiders. Can anyone say dynasty.........

  • I may not ever live there again, but I am proud to say I was born and raised there and I will defend it if anyone says anything bad about it.

However, I had to quit partying so much. I had to move and reinvent myself. I don't blame Lubbock for my personal bad life choices, (like Natalie Maines) I just blame myself. Everytime I go back , I run into an old friend. I can't live there anymore.

  • Windy places such as Lubbock, creates negative ions in the air, which create static electricity and tend to rid the air of pollens and alergies, and also it creates a sense of ephoria.

This can easily explain the draw, to a place like Lubbock, TX.

  • I'm ehh about this place. Born and raised here, STILL live here.

I don't drink or smoke and I'm not into the bar scene so there's nothing for me to do here ._.

Main event is not a good arcade and Joyland stops being fun after the age of 12

  • Gotta LOVE THA HUB CITY SKIES!!! Can't get enough of Lubbock, simply love the stores, restuarants, and city itself! If you lived in Odessa, then you'd know what I mean!

  • cool place

  • hahahahaha "except for the texas tech kids" ok sorry to say im from lubbock texas born and raised! wow you really dont know the history about the texas tech kids right hahahaha! lubbock is an awesome place!

  • I spent two years in Lubbock, Texas. I was very welcomed in the first week there. It made me feel like I was home and I will always return to that town at any chance I get.

  • I live here

  • If it wasn't for Buddy, most of us would not have heard of Lubbock, Texas.

  • He died 50 years ago on February 3rd 2009... I am originally from Lubbock, Texas now living in Southern California pursuing an acting career. Lubbock will always be home but It's a place you'll never want to go back to!

  • you got that right man

  • YOU PEOPLE SHOULD BE PROUD TO SAY THAT YOU ARE FROM THE HOME TOWN OF THE GREAT "BUDDY HOLLY" REGARDS TO YOU, From Fletch, Yorkshire, England.

  • Comment removed

  • Again, it's not even a challenge.

  • go red raiders woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo... i live here

  • Man, I don't even have to respond to this to prove you're a jackass.

Why can't everything be this easy?

  • I think Lubbock is an after thought, I went ot Hollywood and the only place in texas was Austin. You guys remind of suck city and prejudice and all of the above. Your sis from Los Angeles who left you a long time ago with your macho egos. I am my own person from LA not Lubbock yuck!

  • then why the fuck are u on this vid. so you can remember it. bitch shut up. PROUD TO BE A WEST TEXAN FROM LUBBOCK. oh and dont give us your story. it sounds like Mac Davis's lubbock in my rearview. if you ever want to come on down and get your ass kicked let me know ill meet you at the kmart on 62nd and University

  • Forget about it! Delete my comment. Not worth it to argue and be that way.....forget about it! We all live where we are suppose to live and where it is that we like. each to his own.

  • what the fuck u make no sense

  • Probably not!Just forget about it! I am a peacemaker and anti-war chick and just do not care about living where you are. That is all. It is okay to live where you are. It is okay to live where people want to live. Forget about it is an Italian expression. That is all...

  • i totaly agree ... ur lucky u can go away... i cant

  • Lubbock looks beautiful. I wanna visit and eat. Whoever heard of Texas Tech U?

  • If you think Lubbock Texas is dumb than fine. Lubbock is really beautiful because of its nature and Texan culture. Go Red Raiders! Guns Up!

  • Heady words coming from someone frome frikkin' Nebraska...

  • 0:54-1:14 is the cowboy symposium...It think. It's fun the first time but you know everything the second. The cookout is worth going to.

  • i'm thinkin bout goin to nearby levelland to study at SPC and later to TT in lubbock, my idea is to obtain a petroleum engineers degree since that would be impossible here in florida...im guessin its a good idea

  • Fucked up property tax appraisals will kill you if you move here so be ready to work your butt off only to have them take your hard earned money.

  • I wasn't born in Lubbock, Texas but I got here as fast as I could. Lubbock and the South Plains have everything I could want in a place to live. Plenty of sunshine, great people, entertainment from great local musicians, and so much more. Thanks for posting these great pictures of Lubbock. I will post at RaiderCam * com .

  • I lived there. Lovely place. Miss Lubbock so much.

  • I live in lubbock, its a good place to be

  • Great video. Grew up there and now been gone for 6 years. I was feeling homesick today...this made me feel better.

I'll get back on the High Plains someday...

  • tejano is da shit!! i love it!! and cumbias!!! i love palominos and fama and errythang!!! teehee

  • Lubbock, man do I miss it! Just the sight of the sunset on a clear evening and the farmland outside the city makes me want to stay there unlike the pigsty in Odessa! Ever been to Odessa!?! Not a pretty sight! But Lubbock is a LOT cleaner outside the city limits and has a whole lot of things to see and do than Odessa, TX! Can't wait to go visit Lubbock soon and listen to Magic 93.7!!! Sht I wish we had a tejano station in Odessa/Midland!!!

  • Aww.. You must really hate Odessa if you're wishing you could live in Lubbock, instead.. I grew up in Idalou. It's one of those "blink and you'll miss it" kinda towns.

I do miss West Texas, though.

  • Actually they need to get rid of all the tejano music in Lubbock. Sorriest music I ever heard.

  • Well you know what. Actually if you don't like tejano music then you can just change the station. It's that fukn easy!!!

  • Well first of all I don't even listen to that fucking station. I just think that it gives the rest of spanish music a bad name.

  • Love this place. And I can't wait to get back to Lubbock when I get a chance. They've got great sunsets. Good job with the pics, savantphoto.

  • I use to live in Lubbock when I attended Texas Tech. Unfortunately, I thought it was a wasteland. I miss the school no doubt about it. Though, I've been to many places, and Lubbock has the highest amount ingnorant people I have ever come across. I'm very glad I got the chance to transfer out.

  • Wow, thanks for that nice generalization. By the way, you'll only find what you expect to find.

  • Maybe I had bad luck running into dumb people, but I always minded my own business. Though,it isn't right to generalize the whole town.I was just probably in a bad mood when I wrote that.

  • lubbock i the best place to live if you don't like it its your problem

    and your the ingnorant person

  • You are calling someone "ignorant," yet you are unable to type a sentence in English? This is typical of people who live in Lubbock. Undereducated, uncultured, uncouth, and blatantly stupid.

  • haha ok mr. grammer school. We appreciate your imput on Lubbock and I am sure you live in a much better city or something like that but i have one question...is extreme exaggeration "typical" of folks in you town? Describing Lubbock in the manner you did was pretty "ignorant" especially since its home to a major university...

  • Oh, indeed extreme exaggeration IS a byfactor of where I grew up: Lubbock, Texas! Such would be the example to that I responded. Otherwise, I am aware that a "major" university exists in Lubbock. It's called TEXAS TECH! It's the least decorated institution in all of Texas! Guns Up!

  • there you go with more exaggeration...

O and also, I didnt say the city where you grew up...i said the city where you live. Also if you could explain why you would put the word "major" in quotes in that circumstance. Are you doubting that a University with close to 30,000 students and a 700 million dollar endowment is major? Also i am curious to know where you got your information on the decorations of Texas "institutions."

  • Why don't you post what "university" you graduated from? That will say a lot about you--negative or positive. I find it hard to believe you are educated and maybe you are but for you to sound so bitter something must have happened in your life.

  • im sorry my typeing skills don't meat your standerds mr'upercrust as far as calling some one stupid for liveing in lubbock is plain childish don't judge others unless your ready to be juged yourself as i see it im not the stupid one on youtube

  • Great pics and song -- thank you.

I just returned from a visit to Lubbock and love the wide open spaces, clean air, good food, and friendly people. West Texas isn't for everybody; only the hardy survive, but I love it. Thanks again.

  • Great pics....even better song.

I have wom pics to add if you woul like me to send.

Lightning pics and some flags in the front yard pics.

    Thanks for cheering me up.

I am HOME SICK FOR THE LLANO ESTACADO!!

  • Some of us love it here.

And some of us are entitled to our own opinion and don't respect the current president.

Great shots, man. Really. I love my town. Nowhere else I'd rather be.

  • I had been away from the Lubbock area for several years when I went back for Easter. We visited the South Plains Mall on a beautiful 75-degree day that had me wondering why I had been happy to leave. Once inside, I wondered at the the bronze-colored glass at the entrances. When we left, I noticed that the reason for the bronze glass was the 100-mile-an-hour wine that had sprung up and filled the sky and the streets with sand. Then I remembered why I had been glad to leave.

  • i live here so i gota represent

  • Don't let the door hit you on the way out

  • what is the name of song???

  • dude i live in brownfield...its 30 min away from there adn i've never even seen half of these places but lubbock is kool GO RED RAIDERS!!!!!!

  • Very nice. That makes me homesick!

  • Awesome!!!

  • You see why dont need the Dixie Chick back here in Lubbock! She didnt get that WIDE OPEN MOUTH FROM HERE! We respect the President and most specially those soldiers given their all so we can live in a beautifil city like LUBBOCK TEXAS! Now if we can just get rid of the Mayor!

  • ohh this is beautifal there are soooo many trees and stuff..i live in brooklynn and bronx we never get all this preety stuf...so NICEE
