they dont play stuff like this no more i hate this new country "the swift kind" the only new country that is good is brantley gilbert, justin moore, eric church, and some jason aldean
R.I.P. Hoss... always listenin to ya to remember my grampa :) gotta love the outlaw movement, it's NEVER gonna die unless we lose our attitude and i DAMN sure ain't losin mine... FUCK TRASHVILLE AND THE SORRY ASS "pretty boy country"!!!
Damn! What a voice! There will never be another Waylon. Even thought Shooter comes very close, but in a different way. You can tell where he came from, yet he has his own sound.
Sounds like none of you know too much about Waylon's music, the "Outlaw" movement, who was considered an "Outlaw" and why. In a recent song attacking some of the so called "country" music singers who have tried to capitalize on the name "Outlaw" and Waylon's name; Shooter Jennings used the phrase "couldn't hit country with a baseball bat". Most of you would fit in that category.
DO SOME RESEARCH on Waylon (his autobiography would be a good place to start). The "Outlaws" was name given to s
clydebarrow54, the outlaw movement wasn't about whether or not they did jail time. it was about doing your music the way you wanted it to sound without having to worry about somebody adding a bunch of horns, then you don't even recognize your own song. watch waylon's movie, he will tell you all about it.
taylor who? i can't recall who that is when you are talking about COUNTRY music. maybe she is an R&B singer, not sure. i'm not knocking the genre, it's just that i don't listen to R&B, i only listen to real country sung by real country singers.
Awesome song but you failed on one massive level by not including pictures of Merle Haggard in this. The man was in and out of juvenile detention throughout his youth, hopped rides on trains and found himself serving a three year stint in San Quentin in the 50's. Merle is more of an outlaw than anybody because he's an ex-convict. 40 #1 hits. All the guys in the video are great but none served prison time. Doesn't much more "outlaw" than that.
I originally heard this when his grandson, Young Struggle, rapped over the beat with Waylon on the chorus. Talk about a great song. Glad I could find the original, even though I listen to more rap than anything. If you have an open mind, check out his grandson's song - Struggle : Outlaw Shit
There never be no out law country singers ever again . Screw this shit they call country today . I dont even listen to country today . %$#@*& any one that does .
Its called pop country . Long live out law/ classic country .
@daniel777891 I agree with you and know where youre comin from. Its more than just outlaw music its just being yourself and everyone out there seems so cookie cutter fake...fake attitude..fake fancy clothes...fake made up hair...its all a fkn joke.I do listen and like alot of whats known as "texas country"--robert earl keen, randy rogers band etc...but its not for everyone either....also you might check out jamey johnson...i do like him and he is about the only real one left thats not fake.
@mwk1977, well maybe not so much as far as the country music industry goes. But obviously he did his own thing. It just turned out that his music was so good that there were no toes to step on!
Nope your wrong about Cash you need to look a little more He went and recorded at Folsom when they said he was crazy to do so- When they forgot about him in later life and canceled his contract he recorded Hurt by 9 inch nails and an album - you need to look closer !
Dont know why you mess waylons page up with david allen coe-waylon deserves his own recognition-dont place nasty jerks along side my hero, bad enough we have to look at willie nelson-now thats one ugly dude,
@joycylu What an absolutely narrow-minded comment. David Allen Coe may be "nasty" but was accepted into the "outlaw" circle and Willie, along with Waylon INVENTED it. I'm 100% sure Waylon would slam your comment.
I have never heard this song played that slow. Good version. I really miss this guy. He was a true country artist. All this new pop country drives me crazy. The only one new that still sounds like this is Jamey Johnson.
Hank III was most likely not even born during Waylon's heyday and Who the hell is Ryan Harmon ? Come on, they couldn't put EVERYONES picture in the vid. Gimme a break. Shooter is still paying his dues. Kris was never considered an "outlaw" although he wrote some songs recorded by "outlaws".
@Mr1962KDSelvis I like Hank III. Kris sang about topics that not many others dared to touch. And,. I'm Ryan Harmon. That part was just a small bit of advertising. Can't blame me. Might as well use what I've got.
True enough Mr. Harmon. I stand somewhat corrected and am now curious about the advertising. I will check out your page. Keep an eye out for comment(s).
yeah i agree they dont play waylon anymore they play all this pretty boy and girl crap they call country today (the swift kind )and thats what it is crap no steel guitar or fiddle anymore in this modern shit they call country today . i miss waylon his music makes me feel good amen
Waylon Jennings is so underappreciated. Even after his death, you rarely hear the mention of his name anymore. People just don't understand what a great entertainer he really was..a true legend
I agree with waylonone 100%. Waylon and bocephus pushed it to thepoint were the flat outtold there record labels to fuck off and risked losing there career.
I could have kicked Waylon's Azz back in his prime. Okay - Okay - maybe I could've kicked Willie around. Okay - would you believe David Cassidy then? Anyway, One of my FAVE songs ever is "Put Another Log On The Fire" by the Outlaws. Tompall Glaser was the singer on that one. Loved it. Another great one is Waylon's "Love of the Common People." Now that's a song!
Johnny Cash!?! afraid not..Waylon, Willy, Bosephus and his daddy (Hank Williams) bucked the Nashville Music system way more than Johnny Cash ever did. Cash pretty much complied with the Nashville way of doing things so he wasn't ever considered to be an outlaw like the rest of them had.

That's BUCKING. And musically speaking he bucked through his whole career. His music was always raw and edgy compared to the polished stuff of the majority
