They are wild adult steelhead that weighed about 8 to 10 pounds. This survey was conducted in the summer. These fish were downrunners that didn't make it out of the creek early enough. Parts of the creek dried up so they had to hang out in this deep pool all summer.
I wondered if they were adults, why would they be in that creek during a dry water peroid? Now that makes since. I will now always look at a low flow creek or river and wonder whats lurking behind? thanks.
wow - that was interesting. Are you familiar with "The Cedars"? Lots of steep serpentine mountains. Lots of precipitation. One of the tallest waterfalls in the US. One of 3 places Sergeant Cyperus exist. But all BLM or private I believe.
You will never hook a fish in those caves, very interesting video!!
