  • What happened to the sound?

  • I sped up the video so I muted the sound so I wouldn't sound like a chipmunk.

  • That was the weather service radio on this clip, but AM 600 does great coverage for Iowa weather.

  • Yeah. They are very good of doing coverage of severe weather.

It was my graduation day too.

  • I lived in Cedar Falls. Man were we lucky. I was on vacation with my grandma in North Carolina watching the Coca-Cola 600 and my family was in Wisconsin. My dad called me during the race and I couldnt hear him, so I hung up on him. When I called him later i asked if he watched the race. He said he was running from a huge tornado and I didn't believe him.

  • I was thinking to myself that MAN! those cars are moving fast...

..then I read the part about you speeding up the video, haha!

  • Those cars were moving fast, the tornado had just crossed the road a few minutes earlier. I did not speed up the video until I was stopped.

  • That's what I meant. Any vehicle you see on the interstate after 1 minute into the video (when you were stopped)is zooming fast :)

  • I love the rotation at 1:30

  • It's a good one too. You can just see it right over 218. Wow. That's really great rotation.

  • I live in Iowa as well and not far from the action and I grateful this massive storm didnt hit where I was, i've been in a tornado b4 its not fun...anyway nice vid, bless all your souls to parkersburg and to the life's lost i pray for your familie's well being.

  • Amen on the prayer.

  • Tell me about it. I been in the Washington Tornado in 1998. Tornado touched down and skipped over my house.

But this tornado happened on my graduation day. Actually after the commencement. I graduated from Washington High School IN Washington. Coming home from Old Country Buffet in Iowa City.

  • If it would have put one down it would have been MASSIVE!

  • The one that was down WAS massive and just minutes off to the east. It was very hard to see because it was rain wrapped and so wide it was not really recognizable.

  • good capture

  • Thanks. Wish I could have steered the storms away from the towns though. New Hartford was just about getting hit at this point.
