He got lost in the shuffle in New York, came in young and only knowing his natural position as a 4-3 DE, NY tries to make him a stand up OLB in the 3-4 with more responsibilities (coverage etc) he obviously stuggled trying to learn a WHOLE NEW position, but in Chicago he will get his FIRST CHANCE at playing his NATURAL position, if he cant succeed here, then he's a bust

Vernon never got going in New York cuz the Jets were trying to make him a 3-4 OLB.. But Chicago Bears will unleash his true potential, with Marinelli, he will return to his college form as a 4-3 DE... BEAR DOWN!!

@dsailorman14 SO how in the world does he have 0 sacks in 4 years in the league? he was an outside linebacker in a 3-4 scheme which on 3 downs you are going to get a chance to pressure the QB and playing for one of the top defenses the past 3 years in the NY JETS? and one of the best defensive minds in rex ryan. If he can get anything out of him why can lovie and marinelli? the guy is 6-3 260lb and is a freak athlete but damn he should have been able to get 1 SACK!!

@FixFalcon dam he looks good. why hasnt he been able to do that for the JETS especially under REX a coach thats known to release the hounds. I still refuse to believe he's going to be a bust. the guy got to much raw speed and talent
